En lo particular tenía ya bastante tiempo queriendo ir al cine a ver esta película, veía que a muchos les gustaba, pero por asuntos de tiempo y trabajo se me complicaba un poco el poder ir al cine, mi compañera de siempre para el cine, mi esposa @francysfiore me acompañó a ver esta película en la gran pantalla, un día caótico donde los bancos estaban caídos y por primera vez entramos al cine sin tan solo un vaso de refresco, hasta que a mitad de la película volvieron los bancos a estar en línea y pudimos comprar nuestras cotufas, aunque nos molestó la situación, pudimos disfrutar del filme.
El director de este filme me sonaba bastante familiar, decidí buscar algunas de sus películas y encontré que fue director de Dr. Strange en el 2016 y de El exorcismo de Emily Rose, películas que estuvieron por un momento en boca de muchos espectadores, aunque ambas producciones son totalmente distintas y se van de lo fantástico a al horror, son producciones que forman un buen curriculum para Scott Derrickson, al menos desde mi punto de vista.
Sinopsis
Finney Shaw, es un joven de 13 años que vive en un pueblo aterrorizado por un secuestrador de niños, al ser cautivo del famoso captor, su única esperanza es un teléfono de color negro sin conexión en el cual puede escuchar las voces de las víctimas del siniestro secuestrador.
Análisis de la Película
Creo que la historia es interesante, inmediatamente nos recuerda a películas ochenteras, en mi caso recordé que en esa misma sala de cine vi IT, incluso hay una escena con un impermeable amarillo tal cual como la película del famoso payaso nos mostraba, sin dudas, este film otorga algunos homenajes a esa película y a otras con ciertas características del cine de los ochenta, en mi caso, el estilo de fotografía, ese argumento sobre adolescentes y el desenvolvimiento de la trama me recordó mucho a IT.
Este filme posee una narrativa envolvente, desde el comienzo capta la atención y se introduce en el misterio rápidamente, proporcionando un ambiente de intriga y zozobra a los pocos minutos del comienzo.
A pesar de crear una historia sólida en su argumento, con una narrativa interesante, a mi parecer el Tráiler y las sinopsis de cualquier página de cine, otorgan mucha información. Recuerdo que la primera vez que vi el tráiler fue en el cine esperando para ver otra producción, este tipo de tráiler sacrifica mucha información para captar la atención de los espectadores, una maniobra si bien inteligente, otorga una sensación de "sabía lo que iba a pasar" luego de ver el filme debido a que la historia no es muy profunda, lo realmente interesante es la manera en que se narra. Para mí, este es el aspecto negativo que me parece más resaltante, sentí que debido al tráiler ya sabía lo que iba a ocurrir, sin embargo, otros aspectos hacen que la experiencia en general sea positiva.
¿Terror?
El filme se cataloga dentro del género del terror, combina un poco del miedo otorgado por un psicópata, pero en donde también influyen aspectos paranormales, muertos que hablan a través del teléfono y que por momentos podemos ver en pantalla.
A mi parecer el filme se aleja del terror para adentrarse en el suspenso, el miedo finalmente es consecuencia la intriga de no saber qué sucederá, si bien en ocasiones observaremos algunas de las desafortunadas víctimas como espíritus rondando el búnker con las heridas de su muerte, la impresión sobre estas escenas no es tan significativa más allá de la utilización de los efectos de cámara y de sonido para hacer saltar a los espectadores de sus sillas.
Aunque la película se aleja un poco del terror, el suspenso cobra buen protagonismo, además, existe la sensación de que de alguna manera mística la ayuda para hacer justicia se encuentra presente y este aspecto sutil que se introduce en nuestra mente me parece totalmente positivo para la trama, a mi parecer, es un aspecto que agradó a muchos en esta película.
Personajes
Otro factor positivo a mi parecer fueron los personajes que estuvieron bien diseñados, con un desarrollo y evolución interesante. La película nos muestra a unos adolescentes, sobre todo aquel típico adolescente inteligente, pero que es atacado ferozmente por sus compañeros, no solo con palabras sino con puñetazos y verdaderas palizas. Este es un personaje típico en las películas, aunque posee una química indiscutible para los espectadores, a pesar de que nos parezca un personaje repetitivo, siempre otorga una característica positiva a este tipo de filmes en donde la trama se desenvuelve dentro del mundo social de adolescentes.
El antagonista también es otro buen personaje, características psicópatas, un atuendo y mascará misteriosa, una furgoneta y globos negros, una combinación más que interesante para desarrollar a un secuestrador de niños.

Esta es una película entretenida, con una interesante narrativa y una buena dosis de suspenso, con personajes que logran hacer una buena aparición en pantalla y una historia llena de intriga, pinceladas de terror que logran complementar de buena manera a la trama.
Es un filme que capta y mantiene la atención, con un potencial que parece no terminar de explotar, pero que logra su objetivo, entretener durante los más de 100 minutos que dura el metraje.

Sí, es una película que puede gustar a una gran sección del público, no es una película terrorífica ni con un suspenso tan aplastante, sin embargo, su desenvolvimiento es adecuado y envolvente. La recomiendo abiertamente.

For me, this is the negative aspect that stands out the most, I felt that because of the trailer I already knew what was going to happen, however, other aspects make the overall experience a positive one.
Horror?
The film falls into the horror genre, it combines a bit of fear given by a psychopath, but where paranormal aspects also play a part, dead people talking on the phone and at times we can see them on screen.
In my opinion, the film moves away from horror to suspense, the fear is finally a consequence of the intrigue of not knowing what will happen, although sometimes we will see some of the unfortunate victims as spirits haunting the bunker with the wounds of their death, the impression of these scenes is not so significant beyond the use of camera and sound effects to make viewers jump out of their chairs.
Although the film strays a little away from horror, the suspense is well emphasised, there is also a sense that in some mystical way the aid to justice is present and this subtle aspect that creeps into our minds seems to me to be entirely positive for the plot, in my opinion, it is an aspect that pleased many in this film.
Characters
Another positive factor in my opinion were the characters who were well designed, with an interesting development and evolution. The film shows us teenagers, especially the typical intelligent teenager, but who is ferociously attacked by his peers, not only with words but also with punches and real beatings. This is a typical character in films, although he has an undeniable chemistry for the viewers, even though he seems to be a repetitive character, he always gives a positive characteristic to this kind of films where the plot unfolds within the social world of teenagers.
The antagonist is also another good character, psychopathic characteristics, a mysterious outfit and chewing gum, a van and black balloons, a more than interesting combination to develop a child kidnapper.
