Hola gamers del mundo, donde quiera que estén, les mando un gran saludo, hoy quiero compartir con ustedes otro de esos juegos de la serie Tycoon que nos hace pensar, además de manejar lo mejor posible las finanzas. Les quiero presentar una pequeña reseña y opinión sobre Zoo Tycoon 2.
No hace mucho escribí una reseña sobre la primera edición de Zoo Tycoon, debo recordar que de toda la seria de juegos de simulación Tycoon el videojuego Zoo Tycoon en su primera edición fue el primero de toda la serie, cumpliendo más de dos décadas desde su lanzamiento, siendo uno de los clásicos en cuanto a simulación económica.
Debemos recordar que los juegos de simulación son aquellos juegos donde no controlamos aspectos esenciales del juego, sin embargo, nos encargamos de generar los escenarios adecuados para ir desarrollando el juego correctamente, este es un típico caso de un juego de simulación. Somos los directores de un Zoológico, sin embargo, no podemos controlar el número de visitantes que entran por la puerta de la instalación, pero si podemos generar las condiciones para generar mayor o menor tráfico de visitantes.
Este tipo de juegos hace que nos detengamos a pensar y planificar estrategias de gestión para mejorar el rendimiento de nuestro zoológico, al ser un juego no solamente de simulación sino también de simulación económica, es lógico pensar que el dinero es el objetivo principal de este tipo de juegos. Pienso que la serie Tycoon recoge bien en las simulaciones economías, manejando diferentes escenarios, desde cárceles hasta zoológicos, teniendo una gran cantidad de opciones dirigidas a los jugadores amantes de este tipo de juego.
Confieso que este tipo de juegos me atraen bastante, me encantan los juegos de simulación económica, es por esa razón que espero subir reseñas de la serie Tycoon y pasar por cada una de sus ediciones hasta llegar a las más actuales, para revisar el avance en cuanto a tecnología, gráficos, jugabildiad que ha tenido esta clase de juegos, que sin duda han sacado muchas sonrisas a lo largo sus años de existencia, por lo pronto revisaremos este juego de simulación con el escenario de un zoológico en su segunda edición, nombraremos las mejoras y opinaré sobre este juego desde una perspectiva muy personal como gamer.
Zoo Tycoon 2
Este es un juego lanzado en el 2004, ya próximamente cumplirá dos décadas desde el momento de su lanzamiento, sin embargo, en lo personal sigue vigente para los amantes de las simulaciones. Este juego mantiene aspectos esenciales que se encuentran en su primera edición, sin embargo, en lo particular pienso que mejoran bastante en algunos detalles que atraen a los jugadores.
Un aspecto que tiene esta segunda edición del zoológico es la posibilidad de tener otros modos de juegos, en la versión anterior nos limitaba mucho en esta posibilidad, en Zoo Tycoon 2 podemos elegir entre tres diferentes modos de juegos estos son:
Campaña:
Donde tenemos que cumplir objetivos dentro de los zoológicos para ir avanzando a otros escenarios y realizar esa especie de misiones que nos otorgan dentro del juego, podemos cambiar de escenarios en diferentes biomas a lo largo de mundo, donde jugaremos en zoológicos de distintos países.
Desafío:
Este es un modo de juego muy parecido al de campaña, en el encontramos objetivos o misiones específicas, sin embargo, la gran diferencia es que nosotros podemos elegir cual desafío realizaremos primero, igualmente tendremos en opción un conjunto de escenarios alrededor del mundo.
Modo Libre:
Este es el principal y más atractivo modo de juego para todo gamer entusiasta de los juegos de simulación sobre todo en la parte económica, es el modo en el cual debemos comenzar desde 0 nuestro proyecto de zoológico, en el cual por su puesto debe ser económicamente rentable, por lo tanto debe ser atractivo para los visitantes y con un buen manejo de las finanzas por parte del director encharcado, es decir nosotros.
Sandbox
Debemos decir que este juego, sobre todo en el modo libre estaría clasificado dentro de los juegos Sandbox, este tipo de juegos le dan al jugador una gran libertad creativa para completar el juego, básicamente podemos dirigir nuestro zoológico como mejor nos parezca, tomando las decisiones e incluso construir nosotros mismos los recintos donde vivirán los animales, nosotros decidiremos al igual que Zoo Tycoon en su primera edición el tamaño de los espacios para cada animal, los caminos para peatones, las zonas de descanso, incluso la venta de recuerdos y comida dentro del zoológico, exprimiendo la creatividad del jugador, es un tipo de juego de caja de arena, haciendo referencia a la libertad creativa que tienen los niños dentro de una caja de arena normal.
En lo particular los juegos donde tenemos libertad creativa y en cuanto a tomas de decisiones son juegos excelentes incluso para que los niños comiencen a aprender sobre finanzas, toma de decisiones y resolución de problemas mediante un juego divertido, el niño seguramente no se negaría a jugar Zoo Tycoon más si le gusta los animales.
Al igual que la edición anterior debemos tener en cuenta el precio de la boletería para el tráfico de los visitantes, los espacios agradables y limpios, así como también el bienestar de los animales, algo que zoo Tycoon introdujo en su primera versión y le dio ese salto al éxito al combinar un escenario de simulación económica pero al mismo tiempo pensando en el bienestar de los animales, los cuales pienso que son mucho más que un simple activo o atracción.
Para cumplir con todo lo anteriormente mencionado debemos contratar el personal adecuado para cumplir con todas estas tareas dentro de las instalaciones, cuidadores, personal de limpieza, debemos tener en cuenta la comida y la recreación del habitad natural del animal para su bienestar psicológico, incluso comprar juguetes para su entretenimiento, algo que viene desde la versión anterior.
Gráficos
Otra de las diferencias notables cuando se juega la primera y la segunda versión es el mejoramiento que observamos en los gráficos, como jugadores siempre esperamos que los gráficos de ediciones más actualizadas sean significativamente mejores que la de la edición pasada, en este aspecto Zoo Tycoon 2 hace un buen uso de la tecnología y aumenta la calidad de los gráficos, cumpliendo con mis expectativas desde mi punto de vista personal, tener la oportunidad de acercar la pantalla y prácticamente ver los animales desde la perspectiva de los visitantes es algo que atrae bastante a este juego, algo que se puede observar en otras ediciones de la serie Tycoon.
Escenarios
Otro punto a favor que posee el juego es que podemos elegir diferentes escenarios alrededor del mundo, al elegir el modo libre tenemos la libertad de crear nuestro zoológico en una gran elección de ciudades, de diferentes países, pasando por todos los continentes, incluso podemos hacer un zoológico en Groenlandia, evidentemente con un bioma muy frio, debemos tener en cuenta que lógicamente en el espacio geográfico de las ciudades tendremos diferentes biomas, mejorando el bienestar físico y psicológico de animales específicos que puedan vivir en las regiones, teniendo este aspecto en cuenta podremos ahorrar dinero según los animales que queramos adoptar al no tener que recrear muchos biomas dentro del zoológico, sin duda esta variedad de elección da un gran punto a favor a Zoo Tycoon2 sobre su edición pasada.
Debemos recordar que los animales son adoptados y estos valen dinero, dependiendo de la especia tendrá un valor, sin embargo, el zoológico será más atractivo si tenemos variedad de especies incluyendo especies raras, también se reproducen los animales y se pueden liberar o trasladar a otro zoológico, algo que viene desde la edición pasada.
Otro aspecto que viene desde sus inicios pero que hace que este juego sea mucho más vistoso es sus paquetes de expansiones, dentro de las cuales podemos mencionar las siguientes:
Zoo Tycoon 2: Endangered Species:
Donde se desbloquean animales como el dragón de komodo y el koala y 20 especies más, agregando nuevas formas de transporte.
Zoo Tycoon 2: African Adventure:
Esta expansión desbloquea animales africanos así como jeeps para el transporte, además, agrega nuevos mapas a la selección de escenarios.
Zoo Tycoon 2: Marine Mania:
Una expansión que luce parecida a la de Zoo Tycoon en su primera edición, otorgando la posibilidad de adoptar y amaestrar animales marinos, así tener la oportunidad de realizar espectáculos con estos animales, sin duda de mis expansiones favoritas.
Zoo Tycoon 2: Extinct Animals:
Otra de mis expansiones favoritas, la posibilidad de tener dinosaurios en nuestro zoológico es algo verdaderamente fascinante, que también podemos observar en la primera edición de este videojuego.
Zoo Tycoon 2 Dino Danger Pack:
Este permite agregar otros animales prehistóricos al juego, específicamente 4 nuevos dinosaurios ademas de un conjunto de objetos nuevos como una valla electrificada.
Todas estas expansiones acompañados de la mejora de los gráficos hacen una experiencia verdaderamente agradable en la gestión del parque, ya que podemos dar rienda suelta a la imaginación y luego simplemente pasear por nuestro zoológico como un visitante.
Opinión:
Pienso que este juego supera notablemente a su edición anterior, algo que siempre esperamos que ocurra con las actualizaciones y relanzamientos de los videojuegos pero que muchas veces no ocurre de esta manera, sin embargo, Zoo Tycoon 2 avanza con su mejora en los gráficos y la elección de los escenarios, la jugabilidad es parecida así que los cambios importantes radican en los detalles que observamos al jugar las dos ediciones.
Definitivamente si tuviera que elegir un juego de la serie Tycoon para presentar mi primer gameplay de la serie seria en Zoo Tycoon 2, espero tener la oportunidad de realizarlo y publicarlo en esta fascinante comunidad de Hive Gaming.
Este juego es sin duda un éxito para la época de lanzamiento, en mi opinión se debe a la modalidad SandBox, que nos da una gran libertad para crear nuestro zoológico desde 0 y poder dar rienda suelta a la creatividad del jugador, acompañado con gráficos decentes y teniendo la experiencia de ser un visitante más al acercar lo suficiente la cámara, dando otra perspectiva a nuestra gestión como directores del zoológico, sin duda, este juego hizo historia en su época y marcó un camino a seguir para sus siguientes ediciones mejorando significativamente sus gráficos y jugabilidad.
Un Excelente juego de simulación económica que sirve para aprender de finanzas y gestión, es mi opinión, una verdadera obra de arte en el mundo de los videojuegos.

We must remember that simulation games are those games where we do not control essential aspects of the game, however, we are in charge of generating the appropriate scenarios to develop the game correctly, this is a typical case of a simulation game. We are the directors of a Zoo, however, we cannot control the number of visitors that enter through the door of the facility, but we can generate the conditions to generate more or less visitor traffic.
This type of game makes us stop to think and plan management strategies to improve the performance of our zoo, being a game not only of simulation but also of economic simulation, it is logical to think that money is the main objective of this type of game. I think the Tycoon series picks up well in economic simulations, managing different scenarios, from prisons to zoos, having a lot of options aimed at players who love this type of game.
I confess that this type of games attract me a lot, I love economic simulation games, that is why I hope to upload reviews of the Tycoon series and go through each of its editions until reaching the most current ones, to review the progress in terms of technology, graphics and gameplay that this series has had, I will review this simulation game with the scenario of a zoo in its second edition, we will name the improvements and I will give my opinion about this game from a very personal perspective as a gamer.
Zoo Tycoon 2
This is a game released in 2004, it will soon be two decades since its release, however, personally, it is still valid for simulation lovers. This game maintains essential aspects found in its first edition, however, in particular I think it has improved a lot in some details that attract players.

Campaign:

Challenge:
This is a game mode very similar to the campaign mode, in which we find specific objectives or missions, however, the big difference is that we can choose which challenge we will perform first, likewise we will have in option a set of scenarios around the world.
Free Mode:
This is the main and most attractive game mode for all gamer enthusiasts of simulation games especially in the economic part, is the mode in which we must start from 0 our zoo project, which of course must be economically profitable, therefore it must be attractive to visitors and with a good management of finances by the director puddled, ie us.
Sandbox
We must say that this game, especially in the free mode would be classified within the Sandbox games, this type of games give the player a great creative freedom to complete the game, basically we can run our zoo as we see fit, making decisions and even build ourselves the enclosures where the animals will live, we will decide just like Zoo Tycoon in its first edition the size of the spaces for each animal, the footpaths, the resting areas, even the sale of souvenirs and food inside the zoo, squeezing the player's creativity, it is a type of sandbox game, referring to the creative freedom that children have inside a normal sandbox.

To comply with all the above mentioned we must hire the right staff to fulfill all these tasks within the facilities, caretakers, cleaning staff, we must take into account the food and recreation of the natural habitat of the animal for their psychological well-being, even buy toys for their entertainment, something that comes from the previous version.
Graphics
Another notable difference when playing the first and second version is the improvement we see in the graphics, as players we always expect the graphics of more updated editions to be significantly better than the last edition, in this aspect Zoo Tycoon 2 makes good use of technology and increases the quality of the graphics, meeting my expectations from my personal point of view, having the opportunity to zoom the screen and practically see the animals from the perspective of the visitors is something that attracts quite a lot to this game, something that can be seen in other editions of the Tycoon series.
Scenarios
Another point in favor that the game has is that we can choose different scenarios around the world, by choosing the free mode we have the freedom to create our zoo in a large choice of cities, from different countries, through all continents, we can even make a zoo in Greenland, obviously with a very cold biome, we must take into account that logically in the geographical space of the cities we will have different biomes, improving the physical and psychological welfare of specific animals that can live in the regions, taking this aspect into account we can save money depending on the animals we want to adopt by not having to recreate many biomes within the zoo, no doubt this variety of choice gives a great point in favor of Zoo Tycoon2 over its last edition.
We must remember that animals are adopted and these are worth money, depending on the species will have a value, however, the zoo will be more attractive if we have a variety of species including rare species, animals are also reproduced and can be released or moved to another zoo, something that comes from the last edition.
Another aspect that comes from its beginnings but that makes this game much more attractive is its expansion packs, among which we can mention the following.
Zoo Tycoon 2: Endangered Species:

Opinion:
I think this game notably surpasses its previous edition, something that we always expect to happen with updates and re-releases of video games but that often does not happen this way, however, Zoo Tycoon 2 moves forward with its improved graphics and choice of scenarios, the gameplay is similar so the important changes lie in the details that we observe when playing the two editions.
Definitely if I had to choose a game of the Tycoon series to present my first gameplay of the series would be Zoo Tycoon 2, I hope to have the opportunity to do it and publish it in this fascinating community of Hive Gaming.
This game is undoubtedly a success for the time of release, in my opinion is due to the SandBox mode, which gives us great freedom to create our zoo from 0 and to unleash the creativity of the player, accompanied with decent graphics and having the experience of being a visitor more by bringing the camera close enough, giving another perspective to our management as directors of the zoo, no doubt, this game made history in its time and marked a path to follow for subsequent editions significantly improving its graphics and gameplay.
