Hola Hivers amantes de las películas y series, he estado al pendiente de varias producciones y la que hoy quiero compartir con ustedes la tenia en mi lista desde hace algunos días, una película basada en la vida de dos grandes deportistas de nuestra era y que en esta película podemos disfrutar a través de HBO Max, sin embargo, esta película no se concentra en estas deportistas, se centra en su padre que las lleva al estrellato. Estoy muy emocionado al escribir esta reseña de King Richard.
Esta película estadounidense de 138 minutos la podemos catalogar dentro del genero dramático, teniendo como un tema central el deporte y la familia desde un punto de vista biográfico. Me agrada ver este tipo de películas por que son historias reales, de personas que superaron obstáculos para llegar a la cima de un deporte altamente competitivo. Creo que el tenis es de los deportes más difíciles de practicar, he intentado jugarlo un par de veces, pero se necesita una técnica y condición física increíbles para tan solo jugar unos minutos. Admiro estos atletas que juega un deporte muy completo y exigente, desde un punto de vista físico y psicológico.
Sinopsis:
Richards es el padre de unas niñas muy talentosas en el tenis, ha planeado cuidadosamente toda la vida de las niñas para convertirlas en grandes estrellas del deporte. Enfrentará dificultades para entrenar a sus hijas con sus recursos limitados y ante las criticas por su exigencia. La vida de este padre ha sido complicada en una época de discriminación y desea que sus hijas tengan un futuro brillante con reconocimiento a nivel mundial.
Análisis de la Película
Esta producción es interesante por ese aspecto biográfico sobre Serena y Venus Williams, hay que saber un mínimo de deporte para reconocer estos nombres tan imponentes en el tenis, sin embargo, tener en cuenta de que sus orígenes son humildes y con situaciones que le hacían cuesta arriba el sueño de su padre y de sus hijas. Este tipo de producciones siempre serán interesantes y esta tiene mucho para analizar y para reflexionar.
La Trama
Uno de los aspectos que quizás sea un punto negativo es la sencillez de la trama, una trama lineal sin mucha sorpresa e incluso sin mucha resistencia ante el inevitable éxito de sobre Serena y Venus Williams, a pesar de que el metraje es largo, más de 2 horas, el desarrollo me parece algo simple, a pesar de eso la película es entretenida debido a la narrativa que es sostenida por ciertas situaciones en complemento con la actuación.
Drama
Me parece que es inevitable pensar en Will Smith en una película biográfica con tono dramático sin mencionar a En Búsqueda de la Felicidad. King Richard no posee un drama tan significativo, creo que la intensión de la película no es hacer llorar al espectador, sino mostrar la historia de estas deportistas y como superaron la adversidad con la guía intensificada de su padre.
No es una película para llorar a mi parecer, pero si tiene un entretenido desenvolvimiento tocando temas sociales con mucha importancia.
Clases Sociales
El tenis es un deporte de alto costo, no solo en equipamiento como las valiosas raquetas, ropa, zapatos y el sinfín de pelotas, también los entrenamientos son costosos debido a que el acondicionamiento físico debe ser exigente, acompañado de un exhaustivo dominio técnico del desplazamiento y el golpeo de la pelota. En pocas palabras este deporte de origen británico es considerado como un deporte para los de la alta sociedad. Por lo cual si una persona de un origen humilde busca desarrollar sus habilidades en este deporte se veía en esa época como algo poco probable para no decir imposible.
La película toca este tema y ante la duda de los entrenadores, su padre lucha por ese valioso financiamiento para el desarrollo de sus hijas, sabiendo que muchos el cerrarán la puerta en la nariz por lo todo el costo que significa llevar al estrellato a un atleta.
¿Racismo?
Aunque trate de escapar de este tema, también se introduce en la película, sin embargo, no de manera significativa, todo lo contrario, está escondido dentro de las conversaciones e intensiones de algunos promotores. Richard fue un hombre atacado por el racismo en su juventud, una época donde en Estados Unidos los afroamericanos eran vistos de otra manera, por lo cual esos traumas del pasado le afectan ante la inevitable controversia de que sus hijas de color con un origen humilde sea el foco de atención sobre sus pequeñas.

Es evidente que los dos aspectos anteriormente mencionados influyeron el estas atletas en los comienzos de sus carreras profesionales, sin embargo, enviaban un mensaje poderoso en una sociedad cambiante con más aceptación, representando de alguna manera a los jóvenes deportistas excluidos por su posición económica u orígenes. Un mensaje poderoso en el "deporte blanco" como se le conocía anteriormente, aunque el apodo se refiere estrictamente al color de la ropa, también podía confundirse con una connotación racial.
Perseverancia y Sacrificio
Otro de los aspectos que nos muestra esta película es esa decisión de hacer triunfar a las niñas, siendo severamente estricto en algunas ocasiones y soportando gran cantidad de entrenamientos incluso bajo la intensa lluvia. Puede parecer una exageración, sin embargo, ese esfuerzo consigue sus frutos en el futuro.
Nos otorga ese pensamiento de seguir adelante, esforzarse al máximo y seguir con el pensamiento de Richard "el éxito no llega al que duerme, sino al que sueña", una frase que va acompañado con un gran esfuerzo que muchos de nosotros lo pensamos más de dos veces para aferraros a cumplir nuestros sueños.
Esta película significa de alguna manera un empujón anímico en ese sentido, de esforzarse y de planificar cuidadosamente todo si deseamos subir de nivel y ser reconocidos en algún momento.
Actuación:
Will Smith siempre con una excelente actuación, así como nos tiene acostumbrado. Notamos un estilo parecido a En Búsqueda de la Felicidad, la misma cara acompañado con los mismos gestos, nos recuerda bastante esta película. Desde mi perspectiva no es una actuación muy relevante para la carrera de Will, aunque es buena, sigue estando en esa línea de lo que se espera siempre de este actor, sin ser realmente sobresaliente en su carrera, eso lo digo bajo mi óptica, posiblemente otros espectadores piensen distinto.

Es una película entretenida, a pesar de un argumento lineal y que por momentos el desarrollo parece algo fácil, el film nos muestra un muy buen mensaje dentro de una producción biográfica que le otorga más valor a las enseñanzas.
Me agrada que podamos reflexionar sobre distintos aspectos desarrollados en esta producción, es una película carente de sorpresa pero al mismo tiempo narrada de manera interesante. un film para tener en cuenta si no se ha visto.

si, totalmente recomendada para todo publico, una excelente película para disfrutar solo o en familia, para padres e hijos que desean alcanzar un sueño. Mantiene la atención de principio a fin y no es una perdida de tiempo, seguramente muchos podrán disfrutarla. La recomiendo abiertamente.
