Siempre estoy atento a lo que agrega Netflix a su importante catálogo de entretenimiento, en algunas ocasiones son producciones muy nuevas recién sacadas del horno, en otras oportunidades agregan películas que tienen algunos años desde su lanzamiento e incluso son producciones que ya hemos visto anteriormente, a pesar de ello, si son lo suficientemente buenas las volvemos a disfrutar gracias a este servicio de entretenimiento.
Es evidente que al adquirir los derechos de las películas e introducirlas a su importante catálogo pasan a ser tendencia, tanto en redes sociales como en nuestras propias conversaciones con amigos. Hoy es el caso de una producción que ya había visto anteriormente, sin embargo, gracias a esos reflectores de Netflix que se han posado sobre esta película, decidí volver a verla y analizarla a fondo para compartir mi impresión con todos ustedes. Basado en Una Historia Real
Siempre he pensado que una película producida a partir de un hecho real hace que sea más interesante, sin embargo, esta historia es quizás algo alejado a lo que conocemos como “basado en hechos reales”
¿Por qué es Diferente?
Básicamente porque nadie sabe lo que realmente ocurrió en el año 1900 en aquella remota isla escocesa. La historia contempla a los 3 fareros, pero sin saber mucho sobre lo que ocurrió en ese lugar, simplemente desaparecieron sin dejar rastro alguno. Este suceso conmocionó a Gran Bretaña e incluso se escribieron poemas y novelas acerca de este misterio. La película contempla además de esos 3 fareros una tormenta que pudo ser el desencadenante de lo que ocurrió en esa isla, dicha tormenta que sí estuvo en los registros históricos y la película la muestra como el inicio de esa trama misteriosa e intrigante.
Es una película basada en ese misterio pero que evidentemente añade ficción ante la falta de información, sin embargo, la convierte en una historia interesante de lo que pudo ocurrir en ese lugar, convirtiéndola en un thriller interesante para los espectadores.

Ritmo
Algo que me pareció notable es el ritmo que lleva la película como si de una película totalmente dramática se tratara, comienza con una buena introducción sobre los personajes y también sobre los oficios dentro del faro, aspecto donde debemos estar atentos debido a que nos muestran pistas de lo que sucederá más adelante, las circunstancias en el faro y el perfil psicológico de los personajes es fundamental para comprender esta producción en su etapa final.
A mi parecer la primera etapa es bastante entretenida, quizás para muchos el ritmo lento e introductorio sea tedioso, pero creo que esta película capta la atención de los espectadores desde los primeros minutos de la duración. La película paulatinamente va subiendo de ritmo, donde el suspenso y a intriga pasan a segundo plano mostrándonos un thriller ya en la segunda mitad.
Intriga
Algo que se convierte en una de las características principales de esta producción, la intriga que se genera debido a que no sabemos lo que realmente ocurrió y como comienza el misterio de ese hombre que encuentran en la costa, además, aparece la incertidumbre sobre el futuro incierto de los fareros se vuelve significativa a causa de sus decisiones e impulsos.
Segunda Mitad de la Película: Terror y Thriller Psicológico
Ya luego de varios minutos donde la intriga es la protagonista, en la segunda mitad presenciamos escenas propias de una historia de terror y de películas sobre asesinatos. La película cambia rotundamente con unas pequeñas dosis de acción bien desarrolladas donde incluso prevalece esa buena sensación de intriga, escenas muy sencillas pero que logran el objetivo de otorgarle un muy buen condimento a la película.
Luego de estas secuencias “terroríficas”, el ritmo vuelve a bajar un poco y nos entrega algo más parecido a un thriller enfocado más hacia lo psicológico. En lo particular disfruté esta etapa de la película sostenida principalmente por las actuaciones.
¿Qué Tal El Final? (Opinión)
Confieso que el final no me terminó de convencer, el misterio termina aun con algunas preguntas que la producción deja en el aire convenientemente, pero los últimos minutos a mi parecer dejan cierta sensación de insatisfacción. Es evidente que el final de una producción influye directamente en la valoración que tengamos de la misma, en este caso, pienso que la película está bien ejecutada (incluso en la segunda mitad donde se pueden evidenciar algunos vacíos en el guion) pero el final quizás empaña un poco la producción completa.
Cuando vi esta película nuevamente en Netflix, fue en compañía de unos amigos y todos tuvimos la misma expresión cuando observamos el final. Esto no quiere decir que la historia o su desenvolvimiento sea malo, solo que en lo particular esperaba un mejor final.
Actuación
Esta es una película donde las actuaciones son un pilar en su producción, tenemos pocos personajes y un espacio limitado, sin embargo, imprimir intriga, suspenso y un toque de locura psicológica es algo que desencadena una actuación de buen nivel, esto es logrado sobre todo con la participación de Gerard Butler, siendo el personaje más complejo y difícil de interpretar, con una evolución que le pondría los pelos de punta a cualquiera. En general las actuaciones son significativas y a mi parecer es lo que hace que esta película valga la pena.

La película es entretenida y nos propone una mezcla de sensaciones interesantes para el espectador, su ejecución es muy buena tanto la su primera etapa como en la segunda mitad, siendo testigos de un buen desarrollo del ritmo y de algunos giros en la trama que le hacen más interesante. A lo largo del metraje podremos disfrutar de buen entretenimiento a pesar de que a mi parecer el final de cierta manera termina sin convencer totalmente, sin embargo, en general es una película que vale la pena ver si no se ha visto anteriormente.

Si, A mi parecer es una película que puede estar varios días en los puestos de prestigio en Netflix. Es una película para los que le agrada el misterio y con un desenvolvimiento que se termina convirtiendo en un Thriller, es una película con una buena introducción y buen ritmo, algo pausado pero convincente. creo que The Vanishing (Keepers) puede agradar al público en general. The story is about the 3 lighthouse keepers, but without knowing much about what happened in that place, they simply disappeared without a trace. This event shocked Great Britain and even poems and novels were written about this mystery. In addition to those 3 lighthouse keepers, the film also contemplates a storm that could have been the trigger for what happened on that island, a storm that was in the historical records and the film shows it as the beginning of that mysterious and intriguing plot.

In my opinion the first stage is quite entertaining, perhaps for many the slow and introductory pace is tedious, but I think this film captures the attention of viewers from the first minutes of the duration. The film gradually increases in pace, where the suspense and intrigue take a back seat to a thriller in the second half.

When I watched this movie again on Netflix, it was in the company of some friends and we all had the same expression when we watched the ending. This is not to say that the story or its unfolding is bad, just that I was particularly hoping for a better ending.

This is a film where the performances are a pillar in its production, we have few characters and limited space, however, printing intrigue, suspense and a touch of psychological madness is something that triggers a good acting level, this is achieved especially with the participation of Gerard Butler, being the most complex and difficult character to play, with an evolution that would make anyone's hair stand on end. Overall the performances are significant and in my opinion is what makes this movie worthwhile.
