Hola cinéfilos, como es de costumbre en mi contenido, quiero comentar sobre mi impresión de una película recién añadida al catálogo de Netflix. Quiero hacer un corto análisis de la misma, en este caso es una película que desde el mismo nombre nos inspira algo de misterio y algo de intriga, El Asesino del Nudo, es esta nueva producción que se aloja en el top de popularidad en películas en este importante servicio de streaming, ¿se merece estar entre las más populares del público? Intentaré responder esa pregunta como siempre, desde mi punto de vista y ajustado a mi gusto personal.
Esta película de casi 110 minutos es una producción estadounidense estrenada en el año 2018, sin embargo, llega a la pantalla de Netflix hace muy poco. Confieso que no sabia la existencia de esta película, sin embargo, es algo a lo que nos tiene acostumbrados esta plataforma, tomar producciones pocas conocidas y llevarlas al publico con su gran maquinara publicitaria, a veces son aciertos en otras ocasiones solo da la impresión que solo buscan añadir opciones a los usuarios sin importar la calidad.
Esta producción intenta adrentrarnos al género de suspenso, teniendo el tema central de un asesino en serie, sin embargo, para los que buscan emociones fuertes o una típica película de asesinos, puede que esta no sea la indicada.
Sinopsis:
Tyler es un joven en una familia religiosa, viviendo con su familia una vida normal hasta que sospecha que puede tener un asesino serial muy cerca de él, apodado Clovehitch, es un asesino que se caracteriza por dejar un nudo en señal de su paso, un torturador y un asesino que ha cobrado la vida de muchas mujeres.
Análisis de la Película
¿Típica Historia de Asesinos?
Es la primera pregunta que nos hacemos al momento de reproducir el film. En lo particular me agradan este tipo de historias, bien sea encaminada a la acción y la sangre como también a un nivel detectivesco donde invite a pensar al espectador con la búsqueda de pistas y al descifrar enigmas alrededor del caso. Esto es lo que podemos esperar de una de esas típicas filmaciones de asesinos, sin embargo, es algo que no veremos en esta producción, la trama se desarrolla bajo el argumento del asesino serial, pero la narrativa es conducida por un camino distinto llevándonos a una confrontación de valores y principios.
¿Sangre?
Nada, absolutamente nada de sangre en esta película, el modus operandi del asesino de Clovehitch es sutil, no deja rastro; la sangre, desmembramientos y apuñaladas no existen en esta película, es una producción que nos introduce más en una especie de drama que a la acción propia de una película de terror.
¿Trabajo Detectivesco?
Este aspecto tampoco se desarrolla de manera tan significativa, aunque evidentemente recogeremos las pistas arrojadas a lo largo de la trama, la película no nos presenta un misterio muy difícil de resolver. La película se encamina sobre una línea recta en su argumento por lo cual no tendremos que pensar mucho sobre cómo resolver este caso.
¿A donde Apunta esta Película?
Más allá de una típica historia de asesinatos, esta película de estructura en una narrativa ligada a un aspecto psicológica, específicamente sobre el asesino y su actitud psicópata que le lleva a cometer esos actos atroces. Por momentos notamos que el asesino quizás no se sienta tan cómodo realizando los actos, pero que es un proceso en el cual su cerebro sucumbe ante la necesidad de saciar sus sádicas fantasías. Al observar detenidamente los detalles podremos inferir lo que puede provocar que el asesino vuelva a manchar sus manos de sangre
Otro aspecto en el cual la narrativa desarrolla su argumento es el los valores, dando a entender que las apariencias “normales” pueden esconder oscuros y temibles secretos, en plena luz de la sociedad.
Decisiones
La película nos llevara a una encrucijada moral, marcada por las decisiones y sobre las consecuencias de las mismas, otorgando un contrapeso marcado por lo moralmente correcto y el acto que puede significar un alivio generalizado, todo esto tomando en cuenta la psicología de los personajes y su trasfondo social.
Actuaciones
A mi parecer las actuaciones se realizan decentemente, el protagonista realiza un buen trabajo, me sorprende ya que incluso la actuación del protagonista (Charlie Plummer) y de otros personajes es relativamente buena en comparación a la experiencia en la gran pantalla, debutantes que quizás esta actuación signifique una puerta para otros trabajos interpretativos. A mi parecer todos lo hacen bien.
Ritmo e Introducción
Siguiendo una corriente de producciones de ritmo lento con amplia introducción, esta película nos sumerge primeramente en la presentación de los personajes, poco a poco se nos hace envolver en el misterio del asesino, sin embargo, analizamos la psicología de los personajes para entender las posteriores decisiones y encrucijadas morales, sobre todo, para describir el contexto donde se esconde un psicópata.

Opinión Final
Es evidente que no es una típica historia de asesinos, sin embargo, nos adentramos es a la psicología del psicópata y su contexto social aparentemente normal. Es una producción con una narrativa apenas decente, sin embargo, es una trama lineal y sin sorpresa alguna, quizás tener más giros en la trama o alrededor de un asesino, tal vez en de su descubrimiento, le pudiera imprimir más emoción a la película.
Alejándose de ser un thriller es una película con pocas emociones, una intriga a cuenta gotas pero que no se establece de manera significativa en la trama. En mi opinión esta película se alejará pronto de los puestos de honor en el top de popularidad en Netflix, debido a que no todo el público podrá digerir una película de asesino sin acción ni misterio.
La puntuación es baja debido que, aunque cuenta con una narrativa medianamente interesante, esperaba que fuese un misterio mas significativo y con más sorpresas o giros en la trama que pudiera salirse de esa trama lineal con la que termina la película, quizás mostrando su mayor sorpresa al final de la producción, pero no siendo tan contundente o significativa para el espectador.
En lo particular, me agradó el desenvolvimiento de la película, sin embargo, reitero que le falta sorpresa a la trama al mismo tiempo que impactar con emociones al espectador.
¿La Recomiendo?
Si buscas acción, asesinatos y sangre, o si por el contrario deseas colocarte tu sobrero de detective para desentrañar un misterio, esta película no es lo que buscas, por otro lado, es una película con una narrativa decente, donde la introducción puede ser tediosa con la esperanza de ir subiendo de ritmo al pasar los minutos. Es una película para ver un lado psico-social del asesino y de su entorno. Lo que lleva a al asesino y al protagonista a tomar decisiones difíciles en una encrucijada moral. Definitivamente no es una película para todo público, así que la recomiendo teniendo en cuenta los aspectos anteriormente mencionados.

I will try to answer that question as always, from my point of view and adjusted to my personal taste.
This movie of almost 110 minutes is an American production released in 2018, however, it arrives on the Netflix screen very recently. I confess that I did not know the existence of this film, however, it is something to which this platform has accustomed us, take little known productions and bring them to the public with its great advertising machine, sometimes they are hits at other times only gives the impression that only seek to add options to users regardless of the quality.
This production tries to introduce us to the thriller genre, having the central theme of a serial killer, however, for those looking for strong emotions or a typical killer movie, this may not be the one.

A typical killer story?
This is the first question we ask ourselves when playing the film. I particularly like this type of story, whether it is action oriented and gory, or at a detective level where it invites the viewer to think with the search for clues and deciphering the enigmas surrounding the case. This is what we can expect from one of those typical killer films, however, it is something we will not see in this production, the plot is developed under the serial killer argument, but the narrative is driven by a different path leading us to a confrontation of values and principles.
Blood?
Nothing, absolutely no blood in this film, the modus operandi of Clovehitch's killer is subtle, he leaves no trace; blood, dismemberments and stabbings do not exist in this film, it is a production that introduces us more to a kind of drama than to the action of a horror film.
Detective work?
This aspect is not developed in such a significant way either, although we will obviously pick up the clues thrown throughout the plot, the film does not present us with a very difficult mystery to solve. The film follows a straight line in its plot, so we won't have to think too much about how to solve this case.
What is this movie aiming at?
Beyond a typical murder story, this film is structured in a narrative linked to a psychological aspect, specifically about the killer and his psychopathic attitude that leads him to commit these atrocious acts. At times we notice that the killer may not feel so comfortable performing the acts, but that it is a process in which his brain succumbs to the need to satiate his sadistic fantasies. By looking closely at the details we can infer what may cause the murderer to stain his hands with blood again.
Another aspect in which the narrative develops its argument is that of values, implying that "normal" appearances can hide dark and frightening secrets, in the full light of society.
Decisions
The film will take us to a moral crossroads, marked by decisions and their consequences, giving a counterbalance marked by the morally correct and the act that can mean a generalized relief, all this taking into account the psychology of the characters and their social background.
Acting
In my opinion the performances are decent, the protagonist does a good job, I am surprised because even the performance of the protagonist (Charlie Plummer) and other characters is relatively good compared to the experience on the big screen, debuts that perhaps this performance means a door for other acting jobs. In my opinion they all do well.
Pacing and Introduction
Following a current of slow paced productions with ample introduction, this film immerses us first in the presentation of the characters, little by little we are made to wrap ourselves in the mystery of the murderer, however, we analyze the psychology of the characters to understand the subsequent decisions and moral crossroads, above all, to describe the context where a psychopath hides.

It is a production with a barely decent narrative, however, it is a linear plot and without any surprises, perhaps having more twists in the plot or around a murderer, perhaps in its discovery, could print more excitement to the film.
Away from being a thriller it is a film with few thrills, a dripping intrigue but not significantly established in the plot. In my opinion this movie will soon move away from the top spots in the top of popularity on Netflix, due to the fact that not all audiences will be able to digest a killer movie without action or mystery.
The score is low because, although it has a moderately interesting narrative, I expected it to be a more meaningful mystery and with more surprises or plot twists that could get out of that linear plot with which the film ends, perhaps showing its biggest surprise at the end of the production, but not being so forceful or significant for the viewer.
In particular, I like the development of the film, however, I reiterate that it lacks surprise to the plot while impacting the viewer with emotions.
Do I recommend it?
If you are looking for action, murder and blood, or if on the contrary you want to put on your detective hat to unravel a mystery, this film is not what you are looking for, on the other hand, it is a film with a decent narrative, where the introduction can be tedious with the hope of going up in pace as the minutes pass. It's a film to see a psycho-social side of the killer and his environment. Which leads the killer and the protagonist to make difficult decisions at a moral crossroads. It is definitely not a film for all audiences, so I recommend it taking into account the aspects mentioned above.
