Hola fanáticos del cine, hoy quiero comentarles sobre otro film hecho en Dinamarca, creo que es primera vez en que realizo dos reseñas de manera consecutiva sobre producciones realizadas en este país nórdico, esto refleja de cierta manera que sus películas han estado llegado a este lado del mundo. No soy un conocedor férreo de las producciones europeas así que no podría ser objetivo si hablo sobre evolución de la industria cinematográfica de Dinamarca, sin embargo, lo que si queda claro es que plataformas como Netflix se convierten en una especie de trampolín para estas producciones, representan la oportunidad de darse a conocer alrededor del mundo, su trabajo, sus talentos y también sobre su propia historia. Así como el anterior film que pude reseñar esta película refleja un lamentable suceso que sin duda ha quedado en la memoria de los daneses, la película se llama Una sombra en mi ojo (Skyggen i mit øje).
Los que me conocen saben que me agrada mucho el drama bélico, por lo cual siempre estaré atento a este tipo de producciones dentro de los servicios de streaming más conocidos, este género además de otorgarnos entretenimientos, en muchos casos van reflejando momentos históricos que han ocurrido en la historia militar de la humanidad. Saber que es basado a una historia bélica real simplemente hace que la curiosidad se acentué con más fuerza, al menos ese es mi caso.
Sinopsis:
A finales de la guerra mundial la fuerza aérea británica decide bombardear la cede de uno de los últimos focos de resistencia, la Royal Air Force es enviada a Copenhague para cumplir con la misión, sin embargo, debido a un accidente algunos de los bombarderos confundieron el blanco con una escuela repleta de niños.
Análisis de la Película
Aunque se nos refleja una verdadera tragedia, este tipo de producciones me agradan porque conocemos algunos hechos ocurridos que de cierta manera están ocultos en las paginas de la historia, no es una victoria heroica o la derrota de la tiranía, es algo que desde la sinopsis impacta y al mismo tiempo atemoriza al espectador hasta cierto punto. Aunque me gusta revisar artículos y documentales sobre guerras de la historia este suceso no lo conocía.
Si lo pensamos bien, la segunda gran guerra fue algo que quizás en estos tiempos sea muy difícil de imaginar, algo que afectó a tantos países y tantas personas que no cabe en nuestra comprensión. Gran parte de estas historias que rodearon a la guerra no las conoceremos nunca, solo algunas pocas que puedan transmitirse en libros, películas y documentales. Muchas de esas “pequeñas historias” quedarán enterradas en el tiempo y en el olvido.
En lo particular, me agrada que estas películas lleven a la gran pantalla algo de su propia historia, en este caso es Dinamarca que nos narra sobre un acontecimiento que sucedió en su propia capital y que, en definitiva, sus habitantes llevan en su memoria colectiva, si bien es un suceso lamentable, es algo real, impactante y que es un cruel reflejo de la guerra moderna, donde los civiles pueden recibir el crudo impacto de un conflicto armado, es por esa razón que esta película tiene una importancia especial. En mi opinión esta producción, aunque nos muestra esta terrible historia, la misma se escapa de ese acontecimiento puntual de la guerra mundial, debido a que el film nos invita a reflexionar sobre lo que significa bombardear una zona de civiles, en especial donde se encuentran niños.
El Film
La Trama
Esta historia esta compuesta por algunas subtramas que se van entrelazando hasta el clímax del film, cada historia lleva una esencia propia y en conjunto forman una narrativa bastante fluida e interesante desde mi punto de vista. En lo particular disfruté unas más que otras, pero en general, observaremos la evolución de los personajes y como son afectados mentalmente por la guerra.
Esta es la típica película en donde la sinopsis y el tráiler proporcionan el total de los spoilers, sin embargo, el desenvolvimiento de la narrativa es interesante aunque ya a grandes rasgos conozcamos el final, además, el film nos va llevando en la mente de algunos niños y como a su corta edad son testigos de los horrores de la guerra y de la sangrienta muerte que ello conlleva. Además, nos presenta esa imperfección de ejecución sobre los planes estratégicos de batalla, sobre todo, esos errores que se pueden cometer en este tipo de conflictos en cuanto a la identificación de los objetivos militares.
No hay mucha sorpresa en la película y el giro principal de la trama es predecible, solo dejando ciertos detalles que se logran ver en las escenas, como esa sucesión de errores que terminaron en una confusión sobre el objetivo de la misión.
La Narrativa
Quizás es uno de los aspectos más sólidos de la película, así como lo mencioné anteriormente es interesante e impactante. Pienso que este es un aspecto característico de las películas europeas, regularmente estas producciones tienen una estructura argumental sólida y una narrativa fluida para este tipo de película y Skyggen i mit øje no es la excepción, cuenta con un guion muy bien estructurado que combina de buena manera con las actuaciones. He disfrutado bastante de la narración aunque pienso que como toda película existen escenas que puedan estar solamente rellenando el guion.
¿Acción?
Aunque es una película bélica tan solo cuenta con algunos destellos de acción, enfocándose enteramente en el drama, la evolución de los personajes y en la narración de los acontecimientos, no es una película para los amantes de los combates armados ni de las grandes batallas, a pesar de ello, esta película aumenta a un ritmo trepidante solo en la última etapa del film para luego caer en un drama envolvente.
Ambientación y Fotografía
Dos aspectos con un trabajo de mucha calidad en el film, mostrándonos una estupenda ambientación, un buen vestuario, visualmente no tiene que envidiarles a películas de otros países, su fotografía y movimientos de cámaras son correctos en sus secuencias. La película cuenta con algunos efectos visuales, sin embargo, no predominan en la trama, de hecho, lograremos ver pocos en toda la película, pero ejecutándose decentemente en los momentos que se amerita, en líneas generales resalto el trabajo en fotografía del film, me ha gustado bastante.
Actuaciones
Creo que es el aspecto más interesante de la película, debido a que una gran parte de este film está protagonizado por niños, sin embargo, la pantalla no le queda grande a estos jóvenes actores, realizan un trabajo que a mi parecer es estupendo, desarrollando personajes complejos con traumas asumidos por la guerra, sus miradas y gestos demuestran esa agonía dejada por la guerra pero que también demuestra esa tierna inocencia. Creo que estos niños tienen un gran futuro como actores de la gran pantalla y este trabajó actoral es de mucha calidad teniendo en cuenta la corta edad de cada uno de ellos.

Opinión Final
La película termina por sorprender gratamente, es un drama bastante decente con buen desarrollo desde su inicio, con el final que todos imaginamos y el más realista ante este tipo de situaciones. Es una película bastante interesante donde descubriremos un suceso que quizás muchos de nosotros ignorábamos pero que es un cruel recordatorio de un conflicto armado.
A mi parecer es un buen trabajo en varios sentidos, fotografía, actuación, narrativa, una película bastante completa que no le hace envidiar nada a las películas norteamericanas sobre drama bélico, quizás limitándose en algunas escenas y en acentuar en demasía el drama para llegar a un público más extenso, pienso que los productores de esta película desean que muchas personas puedan reflexionar en base a esta tragedia.
Aunque es una historia de la segunda guerra mundial, definitivamente nos hace pensar sobre esos conflictos que ocurren en el mundo y donde los inocentes, en este caso los niños, son los que sufren las peores consecuencias imaginables de la guerra, en definitiva, una película que termina siendo reflexiva al día de hoy.
¿La Recomiendo?
Quizás por el tipo de película y un desarrollo poco acelerado pueda ser tedioso para algunos espectadores que buscan la acción trepidante, sin embargo, es un film que es interesante, logra entretener y trasmite un buen mensaje reflexivo a partir de un hecho histórico real. Es una pieza para detallar y para disfrutar de sus detalles. La recomiendo abiertamente.

Although it reflects a real tragedy, I like this kind of productions because we know some facts that somehow are hidden in the pages of history, it is not a heroic victory or the defeat of tyranny, it is something that from the synopsis impacts and at the same time frightens the viewer to some extent. Although I like to review articles and documentaries about wars in history, I did not know about this event.
If we think about it, the second great war was something that perhaps in these times is very difficult to imagine, something that affected so many countries and so many people that it does not fit in our understanding. Many of these stories surrounding the war we will never know, only a few that can be conveyed in books, films and documentaries. Many of these "little stories" will be buried in time and forgotten.
In particular, I like that these films bring to the big screen something of their own history, in this case is Denmark that tells us about an event that happened in its own capital and that, ultimately, its inhabitants carry in their collective memory, although it is a regrettable event, it is something real, shocking and that is a cruel reflection of modern warfare, where civilians can receive the raw impact of an armed conflict, it is for that reason that this film has a special importance. In my opinion this production, although it shows us this terrible story, it escapes from this specific event of the world war, because the film invites us to reflect on what it means to bomb an area of civilians, especially where there are children.

This story is composed of some subplots that are intertwined until the climax of the film, each story has its own essence and together form a fairly fluid and interesting narrative from my point of view. In particular I enjoyed some more than others, but in general, we will observe the evolution of the characters and how they are mentally affected by the war.
This is the typical movie where the synopsis and the trailer provide the total spoilers, however, the unfolding of the narrative is interesting even though we already know the ending, in addition, the film takes us into the minds of some children and how at their young age they witness the horrors of war and the bloody death that comes with it. In addition, it presents us with that imperfection of execution on the strategic battle plans, above all, those mistakes that can be made in this type of conflict regarding the identification of military objectives.
There is not much surprise in the film and the main plot twist is predictable, only leaving certain details that can be seen in the scenes, such as the succession of mistakes that ended in confusion about the mission's objective.
The Narrative
Perhaps one of the strongest aspects of the film, as I mentioned earlier it is interesting and impactful. I think this is a characteristic aspect of European films, regularly these productions have a solid plot structure and a fluid narrative for this type of film and Skyggen i mit øje is no exception, it has a very well structured script that combines well with the performances. I quite enjoyed the storytelling although I do think that like any film there are scenes that may be just padding the script.
Action?
Although it is a war movie with only a few flashes of action, focusing entirely on the drama, the evolution of the characters and the narration of the events, it is not a movie for lovers of armed combat or big battles, however, this film increases at a fast pace only in the last stage of the film and then falls into an enveloping drama.
Ambience and Photography
Two aspects with a high quality work in the film, showing us a great setting, a good costumes, visually it has nothing to envy to films from other countries, its photography and camera movements are correct in their sequences. The film has some visual effects, however, do not predominate in the plot, in fact, we will see few throughout the film, but running decently at times when it is warranted, in general I highlight the work in photography of the film, I liked it a lot.
Acting
I think this is the most interesting aspect of the film, because a large part of this film is starred by children, however, the screen is not too big for these young actors, they do a job that in my opinion is great, developing complex characters with traumas assumed by the war, their looks and gestures show that agony left by the war but also demonstrates that tender innocence. I think these kids have a great future as big screen actors and this acting work is of high quality considering the young age of each of them.

It is a very interesting film where we will discover an event that perhaps many of us ignored but that is a cruel reminder of an armed conflict.
In my opinion it is a good work in several senses, photography, acting, narrative, a fairly complete film that does not envy anything to American films on war drama, perhaps limiting itself in some scenes and overemphasizing the drama to reach a wider audience, I think the producers of this film want many people to reflect on the basis of this tragedy.
Although it is a story of the Second World War, it definitely makes us think about those conflicts that occur in the world and where the innocent, in this case children, are the ones who suffer the worst imaginable consequences of war, in short, a film that ends up being reflective to this day.
Do I recommend it?
Perhaps because of the type of film and a little accelerated development may be tedious for some viewers looking for fast-paced action, however, it is a film that is interesting, manages to entertain and conveys a good reflective message from a real historical fact. It's a piece to be detailed and to enjoy its details. I openly recommend it.
