Criminals should already be aware that messing with Liam Neeson's family is never a good idea, because he always ends up getting revenge. In this film Liam Neeson is again put in the role of a father who must revenge the death of his son.

Cold Pursuit should have been called "Taken on ice" as it has practically the same premise as Taken only this time Liam Neeson is a normal man and not a former CIA agent. Again Neeson will have to take revenge on a member of his family who has been brutally murdered by the mafia.

That's basically the plot of the movie, a man seeking revenge, a man who is totally transformed into someone intense and unscrupulous, a man who doesn't care that his wife has abandoned him, a man whose pain boosts his abilities and turns him into a ruthless killer.

The story doesn't have many different twists that make it stand out from other similar stories, it's basically what we hope it will be; a superficial action story with some attractive elements that we like and some moments that will leave us in a state of boredom. It is not the newest story and does not get to be in some attempts to highlight, it feels that some scenes and characters are too much because they do not contribute anything, they are like the extra stuffing.

Don't misunderstand me the film is very well done, the action, effects, photography and settings are perfect but still unable to make this story stand out more. Liam Neeson plays a role that he already has mastered and that fits him well, he manages to transmit very easily the pain and anguish of a father who has just lost his son, but that's all his performance is nothing great or innovative because it does not need to be.
