Den of thieves is not the typical film about robberies to which we are used to, this is a film where those meticulous and precise investigations are left behind to incorporate a great contrast of action to the plot, making it an extremely intense and above all entertaining film.

The central plot of this film places us in the middle of the robbery to a local money reserve where daily hundreds of millions of dollars are guarded, money that is kept totally confined and that nobody would ever dare to steal, or at least nobody would do it in a conventional way; however as I said this is not a typical robbery film. In this movie, we will see how a group of violent thieves led by someone unexpected put together a theft plan where confusion and surprise are the key elements that will allow them to access and succeed in the operation. All the robbery is developed in a great way through scenes full of suspense and intensity where we see extremely dangerous moments where the thieves almost not make it, moments that remind us very much to those scenes of the movie Ocean Twelve where the protagonists did all kinds of risky maneuvers to access the place where the money is kept.

Despite not being a conventional film about robberies, this film incorporates a lot of typical elements that make it fit into an extremely entertaining genre, a genre that catches us through memorable scenes and shots from personal angles that transport us to the inside of the facts. The development of this film is very peculiar because it develops through a plot that shows us a robbery to make another, because as I said at the beginning in this film deception is essential for thieves because through the apparent robbery of a local bank they will ensure that the police do not concentrate on the real robbery, a robbery done discreetly and planned to have been carried out after placing certain pieces that facilitate the entry and exit of the thieves. In this film the robbery as such does not have too much intensity, however what comes before and after is what really matters to us, because this way we will see how the whole plan seems to have been built and everything that led to the execution of the robbery, only to end up discovering that what we had seen at the beginning was only a part of the story, a story that lacked a key piece that we would only discover at the end and that gives a really great twist to the plot.

Of the things that stand out most from this movie among other classic stories of theft is the element of action that includes, an element that makes it intense and much more entertaining because it gives us highly dynamic sequences that combine fantastically with the plot giving even a dye of emotion very good that makes us connect at a high level with the characters. Here we can see many times how clandestine groups of the police are acting in the face of possible crimes, taking justice into their own hands and acting under extremely dubious circumstances that lead them to violate people's rights; yes, in this film we also see one of the ways that the police use to obtain privileged information about something, as well as seeing how they act savagely in the face of possible attacks or threats. No doubt those scenes of confrontation between the police and the thieves reminded me of those classic action movies where shootings were the protagonist and the element that made the stories entertaining.

Overall this is a very good film, a film developed around a constant atmosphere where we can expect any kind of thing to happen. The film has nothing typical and on the contrary, makes us always alert to any possible change that leads the story down a different path. For God's sake! The film even has subtly decorated scenes with a circumstantial comedy that lowers very much the abrupt and dramatic tone that many of the characters and scenes transmit. Without a doubt, this is not the deepest or most visually fantastic film, but it is a very entertaining film that perfectly fulfills what this type of film should be, something entertaining that make us relax and have a good time.
