Welcome dear internet travelers lovers of the scary and thank you very much for making a temporary stop in my post, today it is time to give continuity to a saga of which I reviewed one of your films recently, I am talking of course about "The Conjuring 2 & 3" that bring us back to Ed and Lorraine Warren in new adventures in which they face various evil spirits and perverse entities. Without further ado, take their Bibles that exorcism is about to begin.
Bienvenidos queridos viajeros del internet amantes de lo aterrador y muchas gracias por hacer una parada temporal en mi post, el día de hoy toca dar continuidad a una saga de la cual reseñe una de sus películas hace poco, estoy hablando por supuesto de “The Conjuring 2 & 3” que nos traen de nuevo a Ed y Lorraine Warren en nuevas aventuras en las que se enfrentan a diversos espíritus malignos y entes perversos. Sin más que agregar toman sus biblias que el exorcismo está por comenzar.

The Conjuring 2 fue estrenada en 2016, dirigida por James Wan y producida por New Line Cinema, cuenta con una duración de 2 horas y 14 minutos. Es una cinta de terror y suspendo, nos trae de vuelta a Ed y Lorraine Warren en un nuevo caso paranormal, está vez se encuentran en una casa en la que ocurrieron múltiples asesinatos, es aquí donde Lorraine recibe una premonición de la muerte de su marido, algo que la deja mentalmente inestable y razón por la que no quiere aceptar nuevos casos. Sin embargo el deseo de la pareja por ayudar a otras personas es muy grande y terminan enfrentándose nuevamente a entes malignos.

The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It was released in 2021, directed by Michael Chaves and produced by New Line Cinema, has a duration of 1 hour and 52 minutes. It is also a story of terror and suspense, in this case the couple is presented with a new exorcism that will lead to something much more complex, disturbing, and proportionally much more lethal. This situation will demand much more from the couple to be able to get away with the matter.
The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It fue estrenada en 2021, dirigida por Michael Chaves y producida por New Line Cinema, posee una duración de 1 hora y 52 minutos. Es también una historia de terror y suspenso, en este caso se le plantea a la pareja un nuevo exorcismo que desembocara en algo mucho más complejo, perturbador, y, proporcionalmente mucho más letal. Esta situación le exigirá mucho más a la pareja para poder salir airosa del asunto.

The soundtrack is fine in both films, it gives a good atmosphere to everything being in general something acceptable in broad strokes, a middle point that leaves it as something that is not spectacular but neither mediocre.
La banda sonora está bien en ambos filmes, da una buena ambientación a todo siendo en general algo aceptable a grandes rasgos, un punto medio que la deja como algo que no es espectacular pero tampoco mediocre.

From this point is when the differences between films begin, the second installment accompanies the action with good camera angles that follow the steps to the plot and help generate a good moment of tension, being that it enjoys presenting good shots with shadows and things happening in the background, this makes all the difference in order to generate a good setting that makes the film feel like an exponent of terror.
A partir de este punto es cuando comienzan las diferencias entre filmes, la segunda entrega acompaña a la acción con unos buenos ángulos de cámara que siguen los pasos a la trama y ayudan a generar un buen momento de tensión, siendo que goza de presentar buenos tomas con sombras y cosas sucediendo en segundo plano, esto hace toda la diferencia de cara a generar una buena ambientación que haga sentir a la película como un exponente del terror.
If we go to the third installment this magic is lost, the angles are less dynamic and are usually mostly static letting the setting suffer a lot to be something quite simple in general, here that magic achieved in the sequel is completely lost.
Si nos vamos a la tercera entrega está magia se pierde, los ángulos son menos dinámicos y suelen ser en su mayoría estáticos dejando que la ambientación sufra bastante al ser algo bastante simplón en general, aquí esa magia conseguida en la secuela se pierde completamente.

If we talk about the plot both share the same premise to have the protagonists facing some evil supernatural entity, there is really no significant change in the theme that moves the film. However, it should be noted that the development of the second installment is much better, not only because of the plot twists that are very well achieved, but in general the sense of intrigue is much more present and is achieved in a very natural, plausible and palpable way, the fact that it does not abuse jumpscare but strives to cause a real fear with a good narrative is appreciated.
Si hablamos de la trama ambas comparten la misma premisa al tener a los protagonistas enfrentándose a algún ente sobrenatural maligno, realmente no hay un cambio significativo en el tema que mueva a la cinta. Sin embargo, hay que destacar que el desarrollo de la segunda entrega es mucho mejor, no solo por los giros de trama que se encuentran muy bien logrados, sino que en general la sensación de intriga se encuentra mucho más presente y está lograda de forma muy natural, plausible y palpable, se agradece el hecho de que no abuse de los jumpscare sino que se esfuerza por causar un verdadero miedo con una buena narrativa.
The third installment is far behind in this section, chooses to have a more research approach that overcomes terror and suspense, being that these last sections leave much to be desired and it seems that they were not secondary genres and not the main ones; In addition, to the above we must add the fact that the Turkish turns that it proposes are quite bland and clumsy being that they are not at all interesting. All this leaves a tedious film to see that it seems anything but something that should be scary.
La tercera entrega se queda muy por detrás en este apartado, opta por tener un enfoque más de investigación que se sobrepone al terror y suspenso, siendo que estos últimos apartados dejan mucho que desear y pareciese que no fuesen géneros secundarios y no los principales; además, a lo anterior hay que sumarle el hecho de que los giros de turca que plantea son bastante sosos y torpes siendo que no son para nada interesantes. Todo esto deja a una cinta tediosa de ver que parece todo menos algo que deba dar miedo.

At this point if there is almost an equal development, in both installments the characters try to face a calamity with the tools and knowledge they possess, being that for the most part there is little to highlight. Although I have to mention the fact that the relationship between Ed and Lorraine has a much more beautiful and pleasant development in the second installment, since it raises the fact of having confidence in the couple that is always a very nice feeling to represent.
En este punto si existe casi un desarrollo igual, en ambas entregas los personajes tratan de hacer frente a una calamidad con las herramientas y conocimientos que poseen, siendo que en su mayoría hay poco que destacar. Aunque he de mencionar el hecho de que la relación entre Ed y Lorraine tiene un desenvolvimiento mucho más lindo y agradable en la segunda entrega, puesto que plantea el hecho de tener confianza en la pareja que siempre es un sentimiento muy lindo de representar.
The Conjuring 2 is a wonderful sequel that knows how to take advantage of how good the first installment had and elevate it to something more remarkable with many moments of intrigue and suspense that shine for how well developed they are; on the other hand, if we talk about The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It everything takes a course that does not favor the film, ignoring the good things that its predecessor did and adding elements that end up being left over and being counterproductive. Taking that into account The Conjuring 2 deserves a fair rating of 3.5 stars out of 7, and, for its part, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It is that bastard and ugly son who does not find a good way to stand out and ends up being a rather regrettable disappointment, deserves only 2 stars out of 7, I recommend watching the second installment if you want to see a good sequel to the first film and ignore the 3rd installment for do not take a bad taste in your mouth.
The Conjuring 2 es una secuela maravillosa que sabe aprovechar lo bueno que tenía la primera entrega y elevarlo a algo más destacable con muchos momentos de intriga y suspenso que brillan por lo bien desarrollados que están; por otro lado, si hablamos de The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It todo toma un rumbo que no favorece a la cinta, obviando las cosas buenas que hizo su predecesora y agregando elementos que terminan sobrando y siendo contraproducentes. Tomando eso en cuenta The Conjuring 2 merece una justa calificación de 3.5 estrellas de 7, y, por su parte, The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It es ese hijo bastardo y feo que no encuentra un buen camino para destacar y termina siendo una decepción bastante lamentable, merece solamente 2 estrellas de 7, recomiendo ver la segunda entrega si desean ver una buena secuela del primer filme y obviar la 3ra entrega para no llevarse un mal sabor de boca.
