Welcome dear internet travelers movie lovers and thank you very much for making a temporary stop in my post Have you ever questioned your reality? If we think about all those strange and "fortuitous" things that sometimes happen to us, one might think that many of the people we know seem to conspire for this event to happen or that there is even someone pulling the strings in a subtle way. All this preamble is the one that encompasses the film entitled "The Truman Show" a film in which the life of its protagonist is totally false and planned by a group of people to be able to broadcast it on television without their consent, if that does not sound interesting enough for you then I would not know what else to say to get your attention. Without further ado, prepare your cameras that Truman has already awakened and the program is about to begin.
Bienvenidos queridos viajeros del internet amantes del cine y muchas gracias por hacer una parada temporal en mi post ¿Alguna vez se han cuestionado su realidad? Si nos ponemos a pensar en todas esas cosas raras y "fortuitas" que a veces nos pasan uno podría pensar que mucha de la gente que conocemos parece confabular para que dicho acontecimiento suceda o que incluso, haya alguien moviendo los hilos de forma sutil. Todo este preámbulo es el que engloba la película titulada "The Truman Show" un filme en el cual la vida de su protagonista es totalmente falsa y planeada por un grupo de personas para poder transmitirla en televisión sin su consentimiento, si eso no suena lo suficientemente interesante para ustedes entonces no sabría que más decirles para llamarles la atención. Sin más que agregar preparen sus cámaras que Truman ya despertó y el programa está por comenzar.

The Truman Show was released in 1998, directed by Peter Weir and produced by Scott Rudin Productions, has a duration of 1 hour and 48 minutes. It is a comedy and drama film, focuses on Truman a man who unknowingly finds himself participating in a television program even before he was born, and, at all times, is being recorded 24 hours a day to be broadcast live on television. Truman is the only one who does not know that he is being filmed, being that for him everything that happens in his life is real but little by little he will realize that the things he lives sometimes feel weird, everything will reach a breaking point when he begins to question his reality.
The Truman Show fue estrenada en 1998, dirigida por Peter Weir y producida por Scott Rudin Productions, cuenta con una duración de 1 hora y 48 minutos. Es una película de comedia y drama, se enfoca en Truman un hombre que sin saberlo se encuentra participando en un programa de televisión incluso antes de que esté naciera, y, en todo momento se encuentra siendo grabado las 24 horas del día para ser transmitido en directo por televisión. Truman es el único que no sabe que está siendo filmado, siendo que para el todo lo que pasa en su vida es real pero poco a poco se irá dando cuenta de que las cosas que vive a veces se sienten raras, todo llegará a un punto de quiebre cuando comience a cuestionarse su realidad.

The soundtrack is very pleasant, in some moments it is used as an accompaniment to the show giving the idea that it is the producers who control this element by subtly breaking the fourth wall, and, at other times, it is only used to accompany a moment of the film, especially when the protagonist is in moments of reflection. All this consolidates it as a very well worked element throughout the film.
La banda sonora es muy agradable, en algunos momentos es empleada como acompañamiento del show dando la idea de que son los productores los que controlan este elemento rompiendo sutilmente la cuarta pared, y, en otros momentos, está solo se utiliza para acompañar a un momento del filme, sobre todo cuando el protagonista se encuentra en momentos de reflexión. Todo esto la consolida como un elemento muy bien trabajado a lo largo del filme.

I was fascinated by the construction of the world, at all times small vestiges of how the whole context is highly controlled denoting from the go that each aspect is mostly false, all this keeps present the concept that everything except the protagonist is highly controlled. To the above are added excellent camera angles, these seek to emulate the angles that usually have this type of programs making the immersion in the atmosphere posed by the film excellent.
Me fascinó la construcción de mundo, en todo momento se van mostrando pequeños vestigios de como todo el contexto se encuentra altamente controlado denotando desde el vamos que cada aspecto es mayormente falso, todo esto mantienen presente el concepto de que todo a excepción del protagonista se encuentra altamente controlado. A lo anterior se le suman excelentes ángulos de cámara, estos buscan emular los ángulos que suelen tener este tipo de programas haciendo que la inmersión en la ambientación que plantea el filme sea excelente.

The plot is one of the strongest points of the film, it is a rollercoaster of emotions in which at all times a balanced theme of drama, comedy and certain doses of science fiction is raised (Although many of the things they use already exist today) in which the level of control they have over the life of the character is quite disturbing, being that it manages to evoke a very plausible empathy in the viewer for the different situations that Truman goes through. All this in turn has a good use of plot twists that clarify the different things that the narrative is presenting so as not to leave a loose end; In this section I have to add the fact of how the theme of how the society that captures is entertaining works excellently, all thanks to the program that takes advantage of the innocence of its protagonist and the lie that he lives.
La trama es uno de los puntos más fuertes del filme, es una montaña rusa de emociones en la que en todo momento se plantea una temática equilibrada de drama, comedia y ciertas dosis de ciencia ficción (Aunque muchas de las cosas que utilizan ya existen a día de hoy) en la que resulta bastante perturbador el nivel de control que tienen sobre la vida del personaje, siendo que logra evocar una empatía muy plausible en el espectador por las diferentes situaciones que atraviesa Truman. Todo esto tiene a su vez un buen uso de giros argumentales que van esclareciendo las diferentes cosas que va presentando la narrativa para no dejar un cabo suelto; en este apartado tengo que agregar el hecho de cómo trabaja excelentemente el tema de como la sociedad que plasma se encuentra entretenida, todo gracias al programa que se aprovecha de la inocencia de su protagonista y la mentira que este vive.
In general, the film touches on many interesting topics that result in something wonderful, concepts such as: Doubting reality and the people you thought you knew, the things that people can do or pretend for money and fame, the silence of minorities who argue something you will see and defend the right, the ease with which it can be manipulated through sublimable messages, The helplessness of not fulfilling a dream or a goal, these are just some of the superficial themes that the film handles being that they all have a great development that causes them to converge into something exceptional.
En general la cinta toca muchos temas interesantes que resultan en algo maravilloso, conceptos como: Dudar de la realidad y las personas que creías conocer, las cosas que pueden llegar a hacer o pretender las personas por dinero y fama, el silencio de minorías que argumentan algo verás y defender lo correcto, la facilidad con la que se puede manipular mediante mensajes sublimables, la impotencia por no cumplir un sueño o una meta, estas son solo algunas de las temáticas superficiales que maneja la película siendo que todas tienen un desarrollo estupendo que provoca que converjan en algo excepcional.

Truman is an endearing character, has a fantastic three-dimensionality rarely seen in the cinema, has all the focus throughout the film and with this prominence manages to steal the show completely (Never better said) what makes Truman such a memorable character are the different facets he crosses that give him a wonderful depth, We are talking about an individual who realizes that everything that happens in his world is false, this should lead to a psychological shock for anyone that the film manages to represent magnificently. Truman faces a titanic conflict and with it he is trying to give meaning to his problem, his life and the fact of how to face everything that came upon him; We see him trying to minimize the problem, then entering a state of paranoia that is escalating, and, subsequently, trying to get out of the situation in which he finds himself.
Truman es un personaje entrañable, posee una tridimensionalidad fantástica poco vista en el cine, tiene todo el foco a lo largo de la cinta y con dicho protagonismo logra robarse el show por completo (Nunca mejor dicho) lo que hace a Truman un personaje tan memorable son las diferentes facetas que atraviesa que le dan una profundidad maravillosa, estamos hablando de un individuo que se va dando cuenta que todo lo que acontece en su mundo es falso, esto debería conllevar para cualquiera un shock psicológico que la película logra representar magníficamente. Truman enfrenta un conflicto titánico y con ello va tratando de darle un sentido a su problema, a su vida y al hecho de cómo afrontar todo lo que se le vino encima; le vemos tratando de minimizar el problema, luego entrando en un estado de paranoia que va escalando, y, posteriormente, intentando salir de la situación en que se encuentra.
What I like most is the fact that despite everything he goes through he is never victimized nor is his life reduced to pure suffering, he has good moments within his false reality, in fact, you could even say that he had a life without real problems to be in a totally controlled environment, Being that he is moved by the fact of wanting to know what the real world is like, to experience a life with infinite possibilities seeking his own true happiness, where none of his choices can be questioned or manipulated. Truman is undoubtedly one of the best roles that Jim Carrey has played being a complex character who must embark on the fact of facing a surreal, terrible and complex situation in equal parts.
Lo que más me gusta es el hecho de que pese a todo lo que atraviesa él nunca es victimizado ni tampoco su vida se reduce a puro sufrimiento, tiene momentos buenos dentro de su falsa realidad, de hecho, hasta se podría decir que tenía una vida sin problemas reales al estar en un ambiente totalmente controlado, siendo que lo mueve el hecho de querer saber cómo es el mundo real, experimentar una vida con posibilidades infinitas buscando su propia y verdadera felicidad, en donde ninguna de sus elecciones puedan ser cuestionada ni manipuladas. Truman es sin lugar a dudas uno de los mejores papeles que ha interpretado Jim Carrey siendo un personaje complejo que debe embarcarse en el hecho de enfrentar una situación surrealista, terrible y compleja a partes iguales.

The Truman Show is a film that was good at the time and is still good now, with a character that feels very human, with depraved beings who do not mind manipulating the emotions of others to be able to profit, and, an audience that feels sympathy for Truman and enjoys the show despite knowing the deception to which the character is subjected; I would dare to say that all these concepts are even more plausible today in a society that can be very insensitive. All this leads it to deserve an excellent 6 stars out of 7, a film that will make you laugh, reflect and sympathize for the protagonist, all at the same time and with an excellent level of quality.
The Truman Show es una cinta que fue buena en su momento y sigue siendo buena ahora, con un personaje que es se siente muy humano, con seres depravados que no les importa manipular las emociones ajenas para poder lucrar, y, un público que siente simpatía por Truman y disfruta del show pese a saber del engaño al que se somete el personaje; me atrevería a decir que todos estos conceptos son aun más plausibles a día de hoy en una sociedad que es puede ser muy insensible. Todo ello la lleva a merecer unas excelentes 6 estrellas de 7, un filme que te hará reír, reflexionar y simpatizar por el protagonista, todo al mismo tiempo y con un nivel de calidad excelente.
