Mobile Suit Gundam: The Witch From Mercury
The series has finally ended, thus I'm going to blog about what I think and feel about it, I wouldn't even say I'm an expert on it but I've come to love the Gundam series because of Gundam seed.
At first, I was never a fan of Mecha, I thought it was all about robots fighting together, like it feels ridiculous that it functions on itself, but later I realize there were characters piloting it, like there's so much more to see in the story, war, politics, life, power, greed discrimination and the likes, there's so much drama to the point it makes you cry. I think it was a brilliant idea, to use gundam as a weapon for war, anyways I really wish I can pilot a Gundam as the protagonist of the series of course ~ so I can have that plot armor HAHAHA
when Gwitch ( shortened titled ) was released, I never really bothered checking it, since I thought it's gonna be a yuri bait again, like they show it's a girl to girl relationship but would still end up with a male protagonist, but as I was listening to the new song of yoasobi in spotify and seeing the gwitch mercury cover photo of it, I had the thought of why not watch the official MV of it, when I saw how gay it was, I just had to watch it.
The Pilot episode and the first episode was so nostalgic, I was like "ah yes, this is what gundam feels like, a tragic beginning, it brings back memory, and when I saw the first episode I was like "DUDE THIS IS SO FUCKING MODERN" everything is, and I'm like yep, this is a different era, and my heart was moved by the changed and the quality of it at the same time very excited, crying of how good they've thought of this series! especially when its a yuri genre like, I was so afraid it wont be popular but boy I was wrong I've been seeing news about how the sells of gundam went up because of this series, like yes!!! Imagine, the first ever female protagonist in all gundam series achieved this much, loved by many!
I was really expecting a lot of backlash due to the same-sex relationship between the two protagonists but turns out most people love it, but there was an uproar on Facebook, mostly boys that are still in denial that they are just best friends and that Guel, one of the male characters would end up either with the ladies, hahaha the Twitter and Reddit fans were fighting about it, It was so amusing to read the defense and offense of everyone, I didn't get involved because whatever they say, it is a GAY SERIES and not a yuri bait, Times sure has changed, and I'm glad I am alive to witness it.
I love the series so much, I ended up having a crush on miorine rembran to the point I drew her, thinking how lucky Suletta is, for having a beautiful bride like her! miorine is my type, both lacus clayne and her
I love how open they are to the same-sex relationship in the series, no discrimination at all, it was respected until the end, especially with all the boys showing affection towards both the leading ladies, what they have was respected.

CHAR AZNABLE CLONES
every gundam series has their own char aznable clones (the antagonist of the series) they are all handsome men behind those masks, if you watch the gundam origin, the story of how he ended up being the villain to wearing a mask was shown there. For me, out of all char aznable clone the original one and the gundam seed mu la flaga is the handsome clone for me
of course, I was expecting a char aznable clone in Gwitch, I was surprised that it was a woman, well it makes sense since the protagonist is a woman, and the char clone would be a woman too! although she doesn't have that blonde hair but has the same long hairstyle ~ after seeing it, I got goosebumps out of excitement I wanted to see how her character works and if its similar to the other past ones, and they didn't fail me, she has that char aznable bitter past and attitude alright 😂

spoiler at the end! they got married! hahaha SULETTA YOU LUCKY BITCH! well, it wasn't shown but with the matching ring we already concluded that they got married,
so far they are the best Yuri couple made for this year, I swear 2023 is the best year for me, they gave me a good show of the Gundam series, the waiting for 1 episode per week was so worth it!
If you ask me if you need to watch the previous Gundam series before watching Gwitch from Mercury? No, you don't have to!
