I watched The Nun ... Alone 🙀 - ⌛A Five Minute FreeWrite⌛

Today I went to watch horror movie The Nun, all by myself in a big, huge theater that had 7, only 7 other strangers watching too. This is how it all began.

So, a couple of days back, one friend messages in the group saying she and her hubby had just watched the trailer for The Nun and is was really scary. So they had decided they weren't going to watch it, for these kind of heart-stopping scares was not necessary in their age. And she loves horror movies.

Then another freind who works at a radio station shared a picture of the special screening they had for their listeners. Before the movie started, they had people walk in dressed as Nuns. That obviously created a racket. She said it was funny, but she was glad she didn't go because she didn't like horror movies.

Then the debate started. Should we or should we not watch the movie. Because I wanted to watch it, I had many suggestions, mostly either ignored or rejected. Then I asked my kids, one said she would accompany me but she would keep her eyes closed and the other asked if he could bring his pillowcase so he can hide in it. So, as any good mother would do, I let them off the hook.

I Went ALONE!!!

So, my neighbourhood cinema is very quiet. I stood in line, wondering if I'd go through with it. I wasn't sure until I heard myself explaning my predicament to the girl at the counter. "No one wants to watch with me, and I'm a little scared.

She showed me the seats available which was just about every one except for 7 tckets bought so far. She pointed at a seat in front of two that had been taken. I said yes, that's close enough. Sitting beside them in an empty theatre might have freaked them out.

So the trailers played, and just before the movie started the couple behind me, got up and decided to move to a different spot. On hindsight, maybe my head was in the way... Anyways, I panicked and asked them where they were going. They ignored me. I might have startled them.

I am not going to give away any spoilers. But yes, it was scary. It had enough jump start moments. And if you get scared easily and still want to watch, you might borrow a page from my son's book and bring a pillow case or a blanket with you so you can hide behind it. And Do Not Go Alone!!
