Searching 🎬A Movie Review🎬

Review by @kaerpediem Β· 2885d Β· of Searching

Hi There 😊

Another Write Along Challenge from @steemitmamas. This time around the task is to review either a book, movie or product. Because I just watched the movie "Searching" and I think it will appeal to Mothers, it's a movie review.

The movie is about a widower/father played by John Cho who finds his 16 year old daughter missing. He helps the investigation by searching for the missing child, through her laptop which reveals things about her. The movie is told mostly through devices and gadgets, the laptop camera and text.

Watching the movie, it was the very things that most parents fear when it comes to their children on the internet. It also shows, how certain incidents can change people, for example an indifferent class mate can suddenly become a best friend.

There is a twist at the end of the movie which I thought was maybe a little far fetched. But who am I to say, having had my way with far fetched twisted endings on my Free Writes.. haha.

It is not based on true events, and yes, I searched it. Funnily I am not the only one who did as apparently many had the very same burning question. It is realistic enough to think it could have happened.

I would recommend it to any parent as it delves into relationships between a teen and parent, how easy it is to deceive on the internet, and then how easy it is to find information, and how nothing is as it seems.

Reviews and ratings overall are very good for the movie. Even Rotten Tomatoes gave it a 92% rating. I would give it a 4/5 and I didn't do my usual 5 minute shut eye in the middle. That's a good sign. Do watch the movie and let me know how you feel.

Good review. These kinds of story lines scare me too much, especially now that's my daughter was born. I've never liked scary movies though, which I'm sure is a factor.
