Today's review video is unlike most.
British film, which is a show of one actress and well done so that I consider it one of the best that has been released recently. The film often breaks the fourth wall by showing us certain scenes, thanks to which we can better understand this work.
This is not a horror movie it's a psychological drama about losing and the consequences of living with it, lack of help and constant blame.
This is a movie full of sadness and a movie that tries to fix some bugs. As the title says, the film tells about a young Mrs. Enid, who is a British censor, has to watch more and more brutal scenes every day and try to qualify a given production to a given age group or reject it. Movies filled with brutality do not directly affect Enid because, as she thinks, it's just work.
He tries to cut as much as possible so that the viewers can watch, but everything breaks down when the film comes out and after it the crazy Man makes a murder.
It is not the director or the screenwriter who takes it off, but the censor who admitted this brutal scene.
Enid's career hangs in the balance, the public is devastated that she missed one scene in the film. Enid tries to live a normal life, but also has a second worry, she meets her parents, and it is a difficult meeting for her when she tries to find a way to change something.
Everything starts to go wrong in her life, but when she watches a mysterious movie she discovers that there is still a chance to change something, since then Enid will go on a path full of amazing adventures.
The film is brilliant, slow and well shot full of darkness, but at the same time understatements.
The film is very surreal, we often swim with the protagonist from scene to scene, not knowing which scene was real and which was film.
The movie is set in the 90s or early 2000s and it is great for the style. The heroes look like they were taken out of that era. VHS tapes play a huge role here, and shooting various rooms in red is reminiscent of Lynch films.
It is an amazing combination of sadness and the desire to turn back time.
Even the last scene seems normal, yet in places it is like a displaced film reel.
(Trailer)The director is playing with the viewer, it is hard for us to understand the logic, only at the end all the cards are revealed and thanks to this the whole film is very satisfying.
This is a movie about not coping with emotions, an escape into the created world. I recommend it because you have to watch the movie yourself, despite the poor poster, it is not a horror movie, or otherwise it is a horror of the main character who has to face demons.
Some will like this film, others will find it very bad, and when we add breaking the fourth wall to it, the film will be strong in reception, but not everyone will be convinced (the demolition of the fourth wall is shown in this film in a quite different way, which makes the film double meaning)
The music is well done, it plays when something is happening.
The script and direction Prano Bailey-Bond are well led, there are no holes, and even how they are well camouflaged, so as viewers we see an insane journey.
