I invite you to the time machine where I will present one of the animations from my childhood.
Today, probably one of the craziest cartoons of the 90s with a large dose of absurdity.
Cow and Chicken is an animation created by David Feiss in 1997, but the first pilot episode appeared in 1995 in the series What a Cartoon! this episode was titled No Smoking.
The animated series usually consists of two episodes of 6 minutes each.
Each episode was about the adventures of the Cow and Chicken siblings - their parents are figures without a head and a body.
Mom and Dad, who have a very specific sense of humor, often drive the car and the karma of our heroes with pig asses.
(Trailer)The chicken also has an arch enemy which is the devil. He has a different name in each episode, and also in a given episode, he takes up a different field.
His sister appears to the rescue in the guise of a Super Cow, who speaks Spanish for the deception. The devil loves to torture chicken, and the chicken is naive in places like a teenager.
The series is not afraid of difficult topics and shows, to some extent, growing up and how it is going. Each episode is full of absurd humor, although it also tries to convey to the viewer the moral that doing something wrong may have some consequence.
The humor in this cartoon is very funny, the vicissitudes of the chicken and cows' siblings even hit you with surrealism in some places.
The series, despite the fact that goofy also tries to touch the problems of acceptance, one of the few series where a homosexual character appears (after a few years this episode was blocked by cartoon netwoork).
The animation was made for Cartoon Netwoork in 1997-1999, and it gained immense popularity, although it ended too soon. Nowadays, there is no animation that would be on the thin game of their decency and for young people, now the animations are made with strong political correctness without excessive madness (except for Teen Titans Go)
Cow and Chicken is one of those animations that I remembered as a kid and I already loved this absurd humor to the limit of reason.
Now, as an adult, I see in it not so much animation for children as a satire on every element around us. If you have a chance, check it out :)
The drawings are from my notebook where I used to draw various cartoon characters.
