Elvis, directed by Baz Luhrmann, is a brilliantly constructed drama that, despite some biographical shortcomings, stays true to who Elvis Presley was. It's a film that takes in the viewer at center stage and gives him the opportunity to listen to the master in action. Baz has always tried to make a cinematic show to make his films full of everything, while at the same time captivating with a great storyline, like The Great Gatsby or Romeo and Juliet, so it is here too, as viewers we get a one and only show that tries to tell who the Legend of music was. The film focuses on Tom Parker, the man who created Elvis, but also destroyed him. The film doesn't try to justify Tom, it even portrays him in this light and not the other, as a gambler who exploits the star to the last drop. Like a marionette, Elvis repeats his show, which time and again takes a harder and harder toll on himself first in the love sphere, and then in the mental and physical spheres. We see the beginnings of his career, but also the well-known fall, so devastating to the music scene (no one later attracted as much attention as he did).
Highly applauded is the actor who plays Elvis i.e. Austin Butler, who at first seemed to me not to fit, so sometimes I began to see in him the real Elvis, and the finale is a small work where it is hard to distinguish whether we see the real Elvis or the actor.
It can be seen that the actor has strongly caught on in the choreography, but also in the style of speech, and gestures ( of course, some of the songs were sung by the original voice of Elvis, although not all) The last time such a good musical movie was in 1993 where The Doors came out. For so many years we lived to see an equally interesting film full of music, pain, suffering and loneliness. Baz perfectly balances between kitsch and masterpiece, so that the viewer can feel the extraordinary atmosphere and times in which the master played. As for the visual side, there is nothing to complain about here, the scenery and special effects at a high level.
The whole thing is probably the most interestingly made drama about Elvis, where the best and the worst were shown giving us an unforgettable final show. If by some miracle ( like me) you missed the screening and the trailer didn't interest you, it's still worth giving this film a chance. It is currently the best film of the year. 8/10

Elvis w rezyserii Baza Luhrmanna to świetnie skonstruowany dramat, który pomimo pewnych niedociągnięć biograficznych pozostaje wierny temu kim był Elvis Presley. To film, który bierze w widza na środek sceny i daje mu możliwość posłuchać mistrza w akcji. Baz od zawsze stara się zrobić filmowe show, by jego filmy były pełne wszystkiego, a przy tym przykuwały świetna fabuła, jak Wielki Gatsby czy Romeo i Julia, tak jest i tutaj, jako widzowie dostajemy jedyne i niepowtarzalne show, które stara się opowiedzieć kim był Legenda muzyki. Film skupia się na Tomie Parkerze, człowieku, który stworzył Elvisa, ale i zniszczył. Film nie stara się usprawiedliwiać Toma, wręcz ukazuje go w takim świetle, a nie innym, jako hazardzistę, który wyzyskuje do ostatniej kropli gwiazdę. Elvis niczym marionetka powtarza swoje show, które raz za razem coraz mocniej odbija się na nim samym pierw w sferze miłosnej, a następnie w sferze psychicznej i fizycznej. Widzimy początki kariery, ale i znany nam upadek ,tak mocno druzgocący scenę muzyczna ( nikt później nie przykuł takiej uwagi jak właśnie on)
Na wielkie brawa zasługuje aktor który wciela się w Elvisa czyli Austin Butler, który początkowo wydawał mi się nie pasujący, tak czasem zacząłem widzieć w nim prawdziwego Elvisa, a finał to małe dzieło gdzie ciężko odróżnić czy widzimy prawdziwego Elvisa czy tez aktora.
Widać, ze aktor mocno przykuł uwagę na choreografii, ale i w stylu mowy, oraz gestykulacji ( oczywiście niektóre piosenki były śpiewane przez oryginalny głos Elvisa, choć nie wszystkie) Ostatnio tak dobry muzyczny film był w 1993 gdzie wyszedł na ekrany kin The Doors. Przez tyle lat doczekaliśmy się równie ciekawego filmu pełnego muzyki, bólu, cierpienia i samotności. Baz idealnie balansuje między kiczem, a arcydziełem, dzięki temu widz może poczuć ten niezwykły klimat i czasy w jakich grał mistrz. Jeśli chodzi o wizualna stronę, to nie ma tutaj nic do zarzucenia, scenografia i efekty specjalne na wysokim poziomie.
Całość to chyba najciekawiej zrobiony dramat o Elvisie, gdzie pokazano to co najlepsze oraz to co najgorsze dając nam niezapomniany ostatni show. Jeśli jakimś cudem ( tak jak ja) przegapiliście seans, a trailer was nie zainteresował to mimo wszystko warto dać szanse temu filmowi. To aktualnie najlepszy film tego roku. 8/10
