As you probably know, I really like the manga that Junji Ito created and when I found out that Netflix was planning to make an anime series based on his story, I approached it quite enthusiastically.
Time passed and the trailer made me want to watch more and more of the stories in anime form. On 19 January, that time came. Unfortunately, expectations were high, but the reality turned out to be a bit different. The graphic form that the anime presents, unfortunately, is not very interesting. They lack what was a trademark in the author's manga.
The stories, and here unfortunately the biggest minus, are deprived of a large number of scenes, while others are altered, making the perception of a given story different from the original one.
Worst of all, many episodes lack a finale, the tension builds, we expect a twist or suspense in the finale and suddenly another story.
In the manga there are also unintelligible details, but the story is so directed that at the beginning we know what might happen in the anime, unfortunately we can't predict anything, the episode just suddenly ends without any explanation or direction as to what happened.
I've heard a lot that Junji Ito's new anime will be much "richer" than the 2017 anime, and unfortunately the new anime is devoid of the tension, horror and madness that is always present in manga or older anime.
Netflix once again proves that by getting a finished product they will still spoil it in their strange sometimes incomprehensible way by adding or squeezing out scenes and ending at the least opportune moment.
One of the few plus points of this collection of stories is the story of a woman with long hair who suddenly dumps her boyfriend, she did everything for him and this gala spurns her. The story is very interestingly realised and keeps a high level and the finale may remind some of the famous The Ring. Another one is about a young girl who takes care of a girl and I didn't know this one as a manga before so I watched it with interest and this is the only one that has a full ending so we get the finale.
A mega moving story of domestic violence and care and that the horror is the people we surround ourselves with. You can tell that the creators of the anime made an effort with this story and it worked out well, even very well, I watched it and was curious to see how the story would end. However, after a great story, the creators once again decide to give us an unfinished story, which barely begins and then ends abruptly, leaving the viewer with this digression from what he or she has just watched.
The series consists of 12 episodes of 24 minutes each, where each episode tells two different stories.
The first episode already shows its shortcomings, unfortunately the graphic style and the sudden twists and turns of the plot, which have no explanation, leave us feeling lost and we just keep watching to get a glimpse of master Junji Ito's work.
In this collection there is also a story about Tom, which is interestingly realised, but the finale is missing somewhere, as if the creators, knowing that the anime works differently than the manga, forgot about it and cut in the least appropriate situations.

This is a collection of anime that has little to do with Junji Ito's vibe, yes they are his stories, but they lack that soul that as readers we enjoy and reach for more manga.
It's a shame that Netflix, with a much bigger budget than the anime before it, has forgotten what it really wants to show, whether it's a collection of little engaging stories or a tribute to a great creator.
Unfortunately, for the first time the rating is low, not because of the stories, but because of the execution and the lack of curiosity for the viewer who does not know every story and can quickly get lost. 4/10

Jak pewnie wiecie bardzo lubię mangi, które stworzył Junji Ito i kiedy dowiedziałem się, ze Netflix planuje zrobic serie anime na postawie jego opowieści, podszedłem do tego całkiem entuzjastycznie.
Czas mijał, a trailer spowodował, ze coraz bardziej chciałem obejrzeć kolejne opowieści w formie anime. 19 stycznia nadszedł ten czas. Niestety oczekiwania były duże, jednak rzeczywistość okazała się trochę inna. Forma graficzna jaka prezentuje anime, niestety nie należy do interesujących. Brakuje w nich to co było znakiem rozpoznawczym w mangach autora.
Historie i tutaj niestety największy minus są pozbawione dużej ilości scen, inne zaś są zmienione przez co odbiór danej opowieść jest inny niż pierwotnie.
Co najgorsze w wielu odcinkach brakuje finału, napięcie rośnie, oczekujemy jakiego zwrotu bądź suspensu w finału i nagle kolejna opowieść.
W mandze są tez nie dopowiedzenia jednak historia jest tak poprowadzona, zwód początku wiemy co może się wydarzyć w anime niestety nie jesteśmy przewidzieć niczego, po prostu nagle się urywa odcinek bez żadnego wyjaśnienia bądź nakierowania na to co się wydarzyło.
Wiele słyszałem, ze nowe anime Junji Ito będzie dużo „bogatsze” niż te z 2017 i niestety nowe anime jest pozbawione napięcia, grozy i szaleństwa które zawsze towarzyszy w mandze czy w starszemu anime.
Netflix po raz kolejny udowadnia, ze dostając gotowy produkt i tak zepsują to w swój dziwny niekiedy niezrozumiały sposób dodając bądź wycisnąć sceny i kończąc w najmniej odpowiednim momencie.
Jedynym z niewielu plusów tego zbioru opowieści jest historia kobiety o długich włosach, która nagle rzuca chłopak, wszystko dla niego robiła a ten gale ja odtrąca historia bardzo ciekawie zrealizowana i trzyma duży poziomom a finał może przypominać dla niektórych słynny The Ring. Inna opowiada o młodej dziewczynie, która sprawuje opiekę nad dziewczynka i nie znałem wcześniej tego jako mangi wiec oglądałem z zaciekawieniem i to jedyne które ma pełne zakończenie wiec finał dostajemy.
Mega poruszająca historia przemocy domowej i opieki oraz to, ze horror to ludzie którymi otaczamy się. Tutaj przy tej historii można powiedzieć postarali się twórcy anime i wyszło im dobrze, a nawet bardzo dobrze oglądało mi sie to i byłem ciekawy jak zakończy sie ta historia. Jednak po świetnej historii znów twórcy postanawiają uraczyć nas niedokończona historia, która ledwo sie zacznie i nagle sie kończy a widz zostaje z ta dygresja co właśnie obejrzał.
Serial składa sie z 12 odcinków po 24 minuty gdzie każdy odcinek opowiada dwie różne historie.
Pierwszy odcinek już ukazuje swoje wady, niestety styl graficzny i nagle zwroty akcji, które nie maja wytłumaczenia fabularnego powodując ze czujemy sie zagubieni i tylko oglądamy dalej by dostrzec choć trochę twórczości mistrza Junji Ito.
W tym zbiorze pojawia ske tez opowiadanie o Tomie, które jest ciekawie zrealizowane jednak k tutaj gdzieś umknął finał, jakby twórcy wiedząc ze anime działa inaczej niż manga zapomnieli o tym i cięli w najmniej odpowiednich sytuacjach.

To zbiór anime, które niewiele ma wspólnego z klimatu Junji Ito, owszem są to jego opowiadania, jednak brakuje w nich tej duszy, które jako czytelnicy lubimy i sięgamy po kolejne mangi.
Szkoda, ze Netflix przeznaczając dużo większy budżet niż anime wcześniejsze, zapomniało co tak na prawdę chce pokazać czy zbiór mało angażujących historii czy może oddać cześć wielkimi twórcy.
Niestety pierwszy raz ocena niska, nie przez historie, a wykonanie i brak zaciekawienia dla widza który nie zna każdej opowieści i może szybko sie pogubić. 4/10
