I recently watched a movie aimed more towards young people, and it was produced by Netflix.
Metal Lords is a film about growing up, friendship, and the desire for acceptance rather than about metal itself. The film is in the style of a 2000s teen series like Degrassi which makes the characters seem more interesting. It is not a musical film, more the film tries to tell about growing up, rebellion and than we will listen to songs. The title is a bit of an allegory of the famous movie Lords of Chaos, both two movie titles will turn on the love for stronger music and a sad ending. A lot connects the two titles because in both the incendiary factor is a woman who pulls out of the toxic atmosphere of her beloved Metal Lords is a light-hearted film where two very different friends try to form the metal band of their dreams. While the founder and guitarist is fascinated by the idea, the drummer does not see himself in the band, but does not want to hurt his friend. Their friendship is put to the test when the drummer falls in love with a slightly crazy girl who plays the cello.
The film tries to show that metal is not only blood, guts and fire on the stage, but rather good and interesting music that provides as much entertainment as pop. The guitarist, who is also a metal musician, is perceived in school as someone deviated and lifeless. Despite a great theme, the film is long in places and the scenes are stretched out, making the viewer a bit bored in the middle part of the film. The characters look authentic and fit as teenagers, so I can't complain about their problems, flaws and strengths. The finale is surprising and a bit tragic, although unexpected, the filmmakers took the music and the characters' problems too lightly, creating a finale based on Billy and Ted, which unfortunately spoils the whole concept.
The whole as a light production for older teenagers (who will not be outraged by the rather vulgar language of the film) where the culture of metal is shown and there are some more and less known pieces as well as face painting. The film is average, it has its moments and squeezes you by the heart, but after a while it is infatuatingly stupid. The creators did not know which way to go, whether more for the fans of the Degrassi series (I liked the series) or more for the fans of metal. If anyone, seeing that it's a Netflix production, was expecting LGBT threads then I must disappoint. I rate the film 5/10 because I am torn between the heart of metal and the Degrassi series.

Metal Lords to film o dorastaniu, przyjaźni, chęci akceptacji niż o samym metalu. Film jest utrzymany w stylistyce seriali młodzieżowych lat 2000 typu Degrassi dzięki czemu bohaterowie wydają się bardziej ciekawi. To nie jest film muzyczny, bardziej film stara się opowiedzieć o dorastaniu, buncie i niż będziemy słuchać piosenek. Tytuł jest trochę alegoria słynnego filmu Lords of Chaos, oby dwa tytuły filmów włączy zamiłowanie do mocniejszej muzyki i oraz smutny koniec. Wiele łączy dwa tytuły bo w obydwóch czynnikiem zapalającym jest kobieta, która wyciąga z toksycznej atmosfery ukochanego Metal lords to film lekki, gdzie dwoje skrajnie różnych przyjaciół starają się stworzyć wymarzona kapele metalowa o ile założyciel i gitarzysta jest tym pomysłem zafascynowany tak perkusista nie widzi siebie w zespole, ale nie chce zranić kolegi. Przyjaźń będzie wystawiana na różne próby kiedy perkusista zakocha się w lekko szalonej dziewczynie która gra na wiolonczeli.
Film stara się pokazać ze metal to nie tylko krew flaki i pożoga na scenie, a raczej dobra i ciekawa muzyka, która dostarcza równie dobrej rozrywki co pop. Gitarzysta i zarazem metal jest w szkole postrzegany jako ktoś zwichrowany i pozbawiony życia. Film mimo świetnego tematu jest miejscami przydługi, a sceny na sile rozciągnięte przez co trochę widz zaczyna się nudzić w środkowej partii filmu. Bohaterowie wyglądają autentycznie i pasują na nastolatków wiec tutaj nie mogę się czepiać maja swoje problemy, wady i zalety. Finał jest zaskakujący i lekko tragiczny choć niespodziewany to jednak zbyt lekko twórcy podeszli do muzyki i problemów bohaterow tworząc finał na bazie Billy i Ted co niestety mocno psuje cały koncept.
Całość jako lekka produkcje dla starszych nastolatków ( których nie oburzy dość wulgarny język filmu) gdzie ukazywana jest kultura metalu oraz pojawiają się kawałki mniej i bardziej znane jak i malowanie twarzy. Film jest średni ma swoje momenty i ściska za serce, ale po chwili jest infatylnie głupi twórcy nie wiedzieli w która stronę uderzyć czy bardziej do fanów serialu Degrassi ( ja lubiłem serial) czy bardziej do fanów metalu przez co raz dostajemy rozterkę by za chwile dostać coś co burzy cały zamysł. Jeśli ktoś widząc, ze to produkcja Netflix oczekiwał wątków LgBt to muszę rozczarować to produkcja młodzieżowa. Film oceniam na 5/10 gdyż jestem rozdarty między sercem metalu, a serialem Degrassi.
