Paul W.S Anderson is a man who likes games and makes films based on them, and while Mortal Kombat is his best work, there are mixed feelings about Resident Evil.
Some will say that it's an interesting breath of fresh air in the world of Umbrella, others will say that the film doesn't have much in common with the game, but I must admit that the first two parts were successful in their own way. Today I will take a look at the first part, which, despite being quite specific, I have to admit that it was quite interesting.
There is nothing from the first part of the game or even the second one, but there is a story which could have happened somewhere near the game. There are many things you can accuse the film of, such as the script being weak at times or the special effects being too special, but as far as the story is concerned it stands up to scrutiny and that is the most important thing about this work.
Paul created the first two parts in a coherent way so that the end of the first part begins the second part which has more in common with the games, the later parts are more reminiscent of director Uwe Boll than films which would be interesting in terms of plot. In terms of the most important aspect, the 2002 RE retains the Umbrella corporation setting, making it even more believable than the games.

__The film has a new protagonist which is Alice who is an employee of a corporation and wants to destroy it from the inside, a lot happens around and Alice loses her memory for a while. In the meantime in Hive (:D) someone destroys a murderous virus. The special forces take Alice and a policeman and go to check if anyone survived the sudden attack of the red queen. On the spot it turns out that all the employees are dead, and every next floor has a murderous trap waiting for the heroes.
Yes, the film has a lot of references to Alice in Wonderland, but there is an interesting plot so that the viewer does not feel embarrassed by another variation, and the zombies and the attempt to survive only fuel the desire to see what will happen next. In the film there are also known mutants from the game (I will not reveal here), which unfortunately by CGI look rather average.
Interesting fact In the finale of Alice leaving the hospital and lost, there is a similar scene where Rick leaves the hospital after a coma in The Walking Dead.
The film is not very gamey, but on the other hand, if it was a carbon copy of the game, players would not like it.

RE has a lot of action, but surprisingly the first zombie doesn't appear until about the 40th minute so it builds up the atmosphere interestingly to finally unleash all the cards.
I had a lot of fun watching it, and even though it has little in common with a grow RE, it has a lot of atmosphere and catches the eye, and the characters are drawn in such an intriguing way that it's interesting to watch.

I recommend watching it, especially since the newest Resident Evil movie is coming to cinemas. It may be better or worse, but it's definitely closer to the games, here Paul wanted to create something that came out well, but in some places it has worse moments.
I rate the film 6/10 it could have been much better, but it's not so bad as for 2002 and the desire to create a completely different story, it came out quite ok

Jedni powiedzą, ze to ciekawy powiew świeżości w świecie Umbrelli inni powiedzą, ze film nie ma wiele wspólnego z gra, ale trzeba przyznać ze dwie pierwsze części były na swój sposób udane. Dziś zajmę się częścią pierwsza, która mimo, ze była dosyć specyficzna to trzeba przyznać, ze wyszła dosyć ciekawie.
Nie ma w niej nic z części pierwszej gry czy nawet drugiej, jednak stworzono historie która mogła by się wydarzyć gdzieś obok gry. Wiele można zarzucić filmowi, ze miejscami scenariusz kuleje czy efekty specjalne są zbyt specjalnej troski, ale fabularnie się broni i to jest w tym dziele najważniejsze.
Paul pierwsze dwie części stworzył spójnie tak by koniec pierwszej części rozpoczął druga która więcej ma wspólnego z grami późniejsze części na myśl bardziej przywodzą reżysera Uwe Bolla niż filmy które były by fabularnie interesujące. Jeśli chodzi o najważniejszy aspekt to w RE z 2002 roku zachowano cała otoczkę korporacji Umbrella, nawet bardziej ja uwiarygadniając niż w grach.

W między czasie w Hive (:D) ktoś niszczy morderczego wirusa. Oddział specjalny zabierają Alice oraz policjanta i jada sprawdzić Hive czy ktoś przeżył nagły atak czerwonej królowej. Na miejscu okazuje się ze wszyscy pracownicy nie żyją, a każde kolejne piętro ma mordercza pułapkę która czeka na bohaterow.
Tak. Film ma ogromna ilość nawiązań do Alicji w krainie czarów, ale jest ciekawie poprowadzone wątki tak by widz nie czuł zażenowania kolejna wariacja, zaś zombie oraz próba przetrwania tylko podsycają chęć oglądania co będzie dalej. W filmie występują tez znane mutanty z gry ( tutaj pozwolę nie zdradzać) które niestety przez CGI wyglądają dosyć średnio.
Ciekawostka W finale Alice wychodząca z szpitala i zagubiona, jest podobna scena gdzie Rick wychodzi po śpiączce ze szpitala w The Walking Dead.
Film nie jest mocno growy, ale z drugiej strony jeśli byłby kalka gry to graczom by nie przypadł do gustu.
