Terrifier is a horror film that tried with all its might to arouse some emotion in the viewer. Yesterday I had the opportunity to watch the first part, which was directed and written by Damien Leone. The very first seconds of the screening show the viewer what he will be dealing with for most of the screening.

As for the realization, unfortunately, the director came to the conclusion that it would be interesting to add a grain filter like in old horror movies, while giving dark scenes.

Unfortunately, it looks so bad that in places the picture blurs and it's hard to focus on the action.

Plot-wise, we get cinema typical of the genre, i.e. a murderer in a mask and victims who are not very fathomable, who are eliminated in a rather gruesome way. The actors, unfortunately, play amateurishly because of this the atmosphere of the film loses.

The downsides here are many though the biggest one being the camera work and weird filters are the biggest horror here.

The plot is about two girls returning from a party. Drunk they still go to a restaurant to eat something. There they meet a mysterious clown who is dressed in white, while his face and eyes are black. At first they try to have a funny conversation with him, but in time they decide to quickly leave the restaurant and go to the car. When one of them goes to the bathroom in the abandoned building, the other friend will have to defend herself against the crazy clown.

The plot revolves around these two women. Unfortunately, while at the beginning the film still takes itself quite seriously, halfway through there is a Terminator syndrome, i.e. the characters who have the longest endurance and strength, which unfortunately destroys the whole screening.

The characters (and there are several of them) sometimes get hit hard, only to behave in the next scene as if nothing had happened.

It's hard to say whether the film was supposed to be a comedy, or whether the director simply thought that the heroes should be steely and get out of any trouble.

Let's say that there is a plot in this film because in addition to the chase in the building we still get the sister of one of the heroines who arrives by car to help.

The film is not scary, it must be admitted, boring yes, pointless too, but scary unfortunately not. On the plus side the appearance of the antagonist.

Gore performs and scenes are reasonably well executed. The finale is so silly that it's hard to even comment, though it was the path to a later sequel.

The overall look is poor,the acting is on the level of a school speech, And the strange cameraman filters make it hard to watch the film with filters when 90% is shot in dark rooms.

It's hard for me to understand the phenomenon of this film, because it is weak, just because it has good gore doesn't excuse it to have poor acting, a tragic script and Terminator syndrome.

It's a pity, because I hear a lot about part 2, however, when I watched the first part I come to the conclusion that part 2 can be on the same amateur level with a lot of filters and scenes so dark that the viewer does not notice the flaws.

To sum up, this is a film that will bore the viewer and will not inspire fear, the only plus is the clown, but the rest notoriously spoils the atmosphere and reception, so we have one of the worst horror films I've seen.

Even though the budget is low, it doesn't justify the filmmaker to squander the script and camera work. 2/10

Terrifier to horror, który staral się z całych sił wzbudzić jakieś emocje u widza. Wczoraj miałem możliwość obejrzenia pierwszej części, która wyreżyserował oraz napisał scenariusz Damien Leone Już pierwsze sekundy seansu ukazują widzowi to z czym będzie miał do czynienia przez większość seansu.

Jeśli chodzi o realizacje to niestety reżyser doszedł do wniosku, ze będzie ciekawie dodać filtr ziarna jak w starych horrorach, a przy tym dać ciemne sceny.

Niestety wyglada to na tyle złe, ze miejscami obraz się rozmazuje i ciężko skupić się na akcji.

Fabularnie dostajemy kino typowe dla tego gatunku, czyli morderca w masce oraz niezbyt ogarnięte ofiary, które zostają eliminowane w dość makabryczny sposob. Aktorzy niestety grają amatorsko przez to klimat filmu traci.

Minusów jest tutaj bardzo dużo choć największy czyli praca kamery oraz dziwne filtry są tutaj największa zgroza.

Fabuła opowiada o dwóch dziewczynach wracających z imprezy. Pijane idą jeszcze do restauracji by coś zjeść. Tam spotykają tajemniczego klauna który jest ubrany na biało, zaś twarz i oczy ma na czarno. Początkowo próbują z nim zabawnie rozmawiać, jednak z czasem postanawiają szybko opuścić lokal i udać się do auta. Kiedy jedna z nich idzie do łazienki w opuszczonym budynku, druga z koleżanek będzie musiała bronic się przed szalonym klaunem.

Fabuła się toczy wokół tych dwóch kobiet. Niestety o ile na początku jeszcze film traktuje się dość poważnie, tak w połowie pojawia się syndrom Terminatora czyli postacie które maja najdłuższa wytrzymałość oraz sile, co niestety burzy całość seansu.

Bohaterowie (a jest ich kilku) niekiedy mocno obrywają, by w kolejnej scenie zachowywać się jakby nic się nie stało.

Ciężko stwierdzić, czy film miał być komedia, czy po prostu reżyser uznał, ze bohaterowie powinni być stalowi i wyjść z każdej opresji.

Powiedzmy, ze fabuła w tym filmie jest bo prócz gonitwy w budynku jeszcze dostajemy siostre jednej z bohaterek która przyjeżdża autem na pomoc.

Film nie jest straszny to trzeba przyznać, nudny owszem, bezsensowny tez, ale straszny niestety nie. Na plus wygląd antagonisty.

Gore występuje i sceny są w miarę dobrze zrealizowane. Finał jest na tyle głupi, ze ciężko nawet skomentować, choć to była droga do późniejszego sequela.

Całość prezentuje się słabo,gra aktorska jest na poziomie przemowy szkolnej, Zaś dziwne operatorskie filtry powoduja, ze ciężko się ogląda film z filtrami kiedy 90% jest kręcony w ciemnych pomieszczeniach.

Ciężko mi zrozumieć fenomen tego filmu gdyż jest on słaby, to ze ma dobre gore, nie usprawiedliwia go by miał kiepska grę aktorka, czy tragiczny scenariusz oraz syndrom terminatora.

Szkoda bo wiele słyszę na temat 2 jednak, kiedy obejrzałem cześć pierwsza dochodzę do wniosku, ze 2 może być na tym samym amatorskim poziomie z duża ilością filtrów i scenami tak ciemnymi by widz nie dostrzegł wad.

Reasumując to film, który zanudzi widza i nie wzbudzi strachu jedyny plus to klaun, jednak reszta notorycznie psuje klimat i odbiór przez co mamy jeden z najgorszych horrorów jakie widziałem.

Mimo, ze budżet jest niski to jednak nie usprawiedliwia twórcy do tego by zaprzepaścił scenariusz oraz prace kamery. 2/10
