We go on. Review/ To nie jest koniec. Recenzja filmu

Review by @kapitanrosomak 🏆#221 🎵5 🎬218 📺40 📚3 · 1737d · of We Go On

I have a problem with films lately, they can't be consistent, forcing them to give a second worse storyline, unfortunately new films in many cases have this disease, that they build up the atmosphere, hold in suspense, only to spoil the whole plot in the middle part.

I'd have a hard time accepting a script that only works half the time, and the other half is the worst schemes from Ghost horror movies.

Apparently there is a fashion nowadays for not consistently creating a work, where the viewer is first intrigued by an interesting story and finally feels embarrassed by the whole plot environment.

We go On is just such a film, where the director takes the viewer by the hand, shows him the best scenes and then throws him into steaming shit.

I didn't expect much from this film, lowbrow cinema though, but if half the film is very slickly made, why is the director suddenly going the wrong way?

The film tells the story of Miles, who is panically afraid of death and many things, which makes him start to become paranoid and tries to find a daredevil who will tell him what is after death.

The half when Miles and his mum are searching through various ghost experts, mediums and other weirdos to find out if there is life after death is a well made piece of cinema that is actually interesting to watch, there is no horror in this segment admittedly but it builds the atmosphere and Miles is the epitome of many viewers who would also like to find a real ghost and discover life after death.

While the first half was brilliant, unfortunately the second half destroys everything, giving the stupidest solutions, and the ghost scenes are so caricatured that you watch it with a smile on your lips.

The director couldn't decide what step to take to make the viewer happy and created a hybrid of an interesting thriller film with some of the stupidest Ghost scenes.

If it wasn't for the second, worse half of the film, I would consider it a great piece of work about searching for the meaning of life and overcoming one's fears, but the second half, when a ghost appears, accompanying the protagonists like in the anime Death Note, was for me an exaggeration.

I always try to approach a film with an open mind, but if a film has two radically different storylines that can't even mesh, then unfortunately for me it's a failure.

The potential is there, but it is destroyed by the possession and its consequences, and the finale is a complete failure, because it teaches us the worst lesson - you don't have to be afraid of death, because it's better afterwards.

Clark Freeman as Miles played very convincingly, his fears about the will of things were interestingly portrayed, but the script ruins him in the second part and at the end he doesn't learn anything from the events that took place.

Shame about the film 4/10

We go On to taki właśnie film, gdzie reżyser bierze widza za rękę pokazuje mu najlepsze sceny po czym wrzuca go do parującego gowna.

Szkoda filmu 4/10
