The evil that men do lives after them; The good is oft interred with their bones.
I see this quote well played out in the movie - The Wrath Of Man (2021). I have learned that for every action, good or bad, there is a consequence. No bad deed ever goes unpunished and no good deed ever goes unrewarded. It may take a while or it could be instant, still the consequence must be borne. Sometimes, this deed could have a ripple effect such that the consequence(s) goes on even after the doer is long gone.
First, when I watch action/thriller/adventure movies, I don't expect to be bored. I also watch movies based on certain actors like Jason Statham, Vin Diesel, Bruce Willis, Tom Cruise and Denzel Washington. Second, I put into consideration the producer/director of the movie.
I can't tell you how much respect I have for Guy Ritchie as a creator, producer, and director of Hollywood movies. He not only produced this film but also directed it. I understand from Wikipedia that he co-wrote the script of the Wrath of Man with Ivan Atkinson and Marn Davies, and it's loosely based on the 2004 French film Cash Truck by Nicolas Boukhrief.
The last movie made by Guy Ritchie that I watched was The Gentleman (2020) and I very much enjoyed it. Then I saw the trailer of The Wrath Of Man, saw one of my Hollywood crushes, Jason Statham in it (LOL!) and I knew the movie would be a big hit!! Well, it was a big hit for me.
Watching the Wrath of Man, I was pumped with a bit of adrenaline and did not entertain any distraction for the whole one hour, fifty nine minutes! Jason Statham is the protagonist in this movie while Jeffrey Donovan (Burn Notice), Scott Eastwood and their crew of robbers are the antagonists.
This movie focused solely on greed and its consequences. Imagine a retired military platoon holds an armoured truck used for transporting large sums of money hostage and robs it rather than work like every other citizen. What made the film more interesting was that one of the robbers shot a young boy who happened to be Jason's son.
I'll say the crew of robbers merely dug their own graves. It's a terrible thing to fall into the hands of Jason Statham, aka 'H', a crime syndicate boss who was out to avenge the death of his only son. How do you kill a man's only son and think you will walk away free? No sir! The debt must be paid somehow. I did not have an ounce of pity for the robbers, anyway.
There are lots of violence scenes in the movie. I don't know much about guns, this movie packed a lot of heavy, sophisticated arms and ammunition. I enjoyed the action and stunts. I rate this movie 70% and would recommend it to action movie lovers. I understand this film made more than $82 million worldwide and received generally positive reviews from critics. Most Jason Statham movies usually do.
