Bad Prosecutor? Nah! Not even close. The young lad's approach to investigation is completely off-the-book and unconventional to that of a typical Prosecutor in the Republic of Korea.
As I watched more of the Prosecutor's unconventional approach to investigations in his bid to punish those who are considered 'above the law', I started to see him as a crazy samurai with sound legal knowledge and full access to the Prosecutors office. Haha. I was impressed with him and I got on this 'hunt for justice' rollercoaster ride from the very first episode to the last.
To be fair, I've always been a big fan of Kdramas that show the influence of Prosecutors in Korea's legal system. I've watched a lot of shows that highlight the interconnectedness and the differences between the job of prosecutors, Detectives, Judges and Lawyers in Korea's legal system. It's fascinating to see how all these layers work in alignment to serve justice and also punish lawbreakers.
The Prosecutors are usually the ones in a suit who do investigations by going through paperwork in their office, reviewing evidence presented by Detectives, issuing search or arrest warrants and taking up a lawbreaker's case to Court in the bid to serve them a suitable punishment.
I thought this was going to be one of those, and I was ready to be thrilled by the sophisticated kinda investigation that Prosectors are known for, but what I got out of every episode of this Kdrama was beyond the stretch of my expectations. I never knew the Prosecutor would be ready to go into the Lion's Den with a wooden sword 🙂.
Yeah, the Prosecutor turned out to be a crazy dude. Haha. An enthusiastic crazy dude who is also skilled in martial arts.
You know, whenever I watch Kdramas about Prosecutors, it's normal for them to be in suits 70% of the time. Well, our 'Bad Prosecutor' was not having any of that. If my memory serves me right, I believe he wore a suit in only one scene throughout the 12 episodes of the show.
I enjoyed a lot of things about this show;
The mysteries, the investigation, the fighting scenes, the comical side of the show and the relentless fight for Justice. Aside from the main character who is already wholesome, there were also a lot of minor characters who did a really good job.
All these, and much more, explains why the show got a really good rating across various channels. They did a good job and fans are looking forward to a second season. Of course, I also wouldn't mind getting a second season of this masterpiece. Haha.
