Disney+ is in a serious Kdrama business and I can say this because I've seen a lot of Kdrama in their network and all of them are superb. Their track record with Kdrama in 2023 soars high. I've watched a lot of those and I have a lot of hype for kdramas that made it to their network.
The only complaint I usually raise is that their shows have a very low episode count. However, they make up for that by making the story fast-paced and well intense. The Kdrama I'm highlighting in this show is a good testament to that. Check it out;

Drama: Vigilante
Genre: Action / Thriller
Network: Disney+
Episodes: 8
Release Date: November 8 - 29, 2023
Language: Korean
The protagonist of the story is a young lad who lost his Mum at a very young age when she was beaten to death. The thug that beat her to death for no particular reason got prosecuted and sentenced to 3 and a half years in prison. The man served time, came out, and continued his tyranny without any remorse. He knew the worst that could happen even if he killed more people would be to serve time.
The protagonist wasn't going to let any of that act fly under his watch. He grew up to become a Police University Student who's quite exemplary to his peers as a model student. He just couldn't close his eyes to what he considers a weak punishment from the law. So, he took things into his own hands. He started by brutally beating up the thug that killed his Mum. From that moment onwards, he uses his weekends to give criminals a more severe sort of punishment.
Our protagonist is now faced with the interesting job of living two lives that are completely different from each other. On weekdays, he maintains his student status at Police University. Meanwhile, during weekends, he sets out to beat down criminals who received light sentences from the law. When people started to notice the pattern of his operation, he got tagged as "the Vigilante" by the press.
If you know your fair share about the existence of a Vigilante, you will know that even if they are doing what's right, the press can still be forced to paint them as bad for the sake of clicks and views. The Police also don't like to have a Vigilante run around in town. So, imagine a situation where a Police University student is the one playing Vigilante. Haha. That's thrilling, right?
The thing I always say about the trailer of Kdrama is still applicable to this particular one. The trailer is so bad. Haha. These guys don't know how to hype the living hell out of their trailers or teasers. This particular one didn't do justice to the quality of the show. It's just a generic trailer, but the show itself is superb, fast-paced, and with no dull moment.
The characterization is something else that's worth talking about. I like the blend of characters fitted into the show and I particularly love the characters who are kinda grey, both bad and good, depending on the situation at hand. The Choi Mi-Ryeo character who works as a reporter at a Broadcasting station is a typical example.
She covered the Vigilante update report and didn't mind breaking bad to pull strings to champion the Vigilante cause through the Media. I didn't enjoy her character in the few couple of episodes, but she quickly grew on me. I like her charisma and she's a tough cookie herself.
This show is no joke. I'm not the biggest fan of shows that get stretched into more seasons, but I'm all in for an additional season of this show if there are ever talks about that.
Thanks For Not Missing Any Full-stop or Comma. Thumbnail Image is taken from the gallery section of the show on MyDramaList The trailer video is shared from YouTube.
