The Kid (1921) was a 1921 American mute comedy drama written, produced, directed and starred, produced, directed, and starring by Charlie Chaplin, In his role, he was accompanied by Jackie Coogan as his adopted son. This is the first film made by Chaplin in her inaugural debut as a director, She previously also played a role as one of the main actors in the movie Tillie's Punctured Romance made in 1914.
The Kid film achieved great success, and became the second highest profit film in 1921, after The Four Horsemen of the Apocalypse. Even in 2011, The Kid was elected to be included in the National Film Registration of the United States by the Library of Congress for "culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant". The Kid is widely considered to be one of the greatest films of all time during the silent film era.
