So after watching invisible guest, I was looking for something similar and I came across this movie. Forgotten also has a lot of mysteries and crime, but personally I think Invisible guest was more mysterious. However I would still give it to the creators because this movie did not waste my time at all. I mean how can you move into a new house and the first instruction you get is to never enter a particular room only for you to start hearing noises from that room in the middle of the night. If it was me, I would be out of that house the next day if I can survive the night LOL. Did I mention it is a Korean Movie, today is the second time this year I watched a Korean movie and the first one I really liked LOL.
The story is mainly about Jin-seok and his family moving into a new house, but this time it is a very weird one. Jin-seok usually has issues sleeping and even has to take meds for it, while his older brother Yoo-seok is someone who is the direct opposite of him, confident, intelligent and even very protective. The first tragedy struck when Jin-seok witnessed harmed men kidnap his older brother, and even when the matter was reported to the police there was no clear lead on the way forward. 19 days later the brother returned home, but the brother that returned home was not the same brother that was kidnapped. His brother had changed so much that it was as though it was someone else using his brother's face.
But here is where things begin to get complicated, Jin-seok realizes that his entire family is acting suspiciously as though they all have a secret they are hiding from him and this is when he begins to investigate and starts unveiling some of those secrets. It was as though everyone living in the house with him were complete strangers, and his first thought was to go to the police to seek help but this is where things became even more mysterious. Jin-seok believed he was in the year 1997, but in reality he was in the year 2017. Everything happening was a planned investigation to uncover a muder case that happened many years ago, and Jin-seok was a 41 year old man and not a boy in his 20s as he thought.
This movie will definitely play with your mind, just when you think you know what is happening, you will see things that you never imagined in the storyline. Jin-seok for example did not time travel if you think that was what happened and he was not mad so it was not a metal issue case. If you love mysteries then this is for you because this movie carries a lot of them. It’s not sci fi, it’s pure crime and mystery and I love how every event was detailed so you don’t get lost watching.
