Introduction
I'm always a lover of good horror movies. And zombie movies are not an exception. Apart from the walking dead which happens to be one of my all-time favorite zombie movies with high expectations. I've not seen another zombie horror movie that does it for me like Train To Busan.
My View Train to Busan for me is the only horror/zombie film that ends on a high and emotional note? I've rarely seen such exhilarating emotional twists in an action horror film.
Yeon Sang-Yo directed Train to Busan, a Korean Action Horror film. A cliche zombie apocalypse backdrop with a touching storyline based on a train journey from Seoul to Busan where people are trapped inside by Zombies. Aside from the father-daughter relationship, this film examines the pivotal question of selfishness and the spirit of helping others in a world where everyone should be looking out for themselves.
The film is based on the Zombie apocalypse, but one thing I like about it is that it isn't like other Zombie films, which are themed around horrific and gory scenes. Surprisingly, the director used an emotional tone in the screenplay to engage the audience.
Plot
The plot revolves around passengers trapped on a train carrying thousands of people and infested with zombies. However, the main story focuses on just a few people: a separated father and daughter, a basketball team, a new born expecting couple, a homeless man, and a high-profile businessman.
I disliked the protagonist Gong Yoo (Seok woo) at first because he appeared self-centered and rigid, but as the film progresses, a softer version of the character emerges. Gong Yoo was a father attempting to reach out to his daughter. He had promised to take her by train to Busan to meet her mother. But things didn't go as planned when the bullet train they took from Seoul was attacked by zombies before they could reach Busan.
The first few minutes of the film began on a slow rythm, and that was at the beginning of the train journey; you might lose interest there, but as the train journey began, it gradually evolved into a complete roller-coaster ride experience for the viewers.
In the final section of the story, the passengers of the train sought ways to connect with one another in order to fight their way out and escape or survive the zombie attack.
The cheregraphy and stunts sequence in the film were perfectly portrayed in such a way that it was intense until the end to keep the audience gripped and engaged.
I also enjoyed the film's visual effects and cinematography. The production team did an excellent job of ensuring that they both worked together to keep the action going until the end.They attempted to include numerous close-up shots of the characters. This contributed to the emotional feel for the goosebumps-inducing scenes, and it worked very well. The background music was also fantastic.

Conclusion:
Overall, Train to Busan is a unique zombie film with numerous emotional twists. It is a must-see Korean thriller if you want to see a fresh take on the horror genre.
