Estos últimos meses son en definitiva donde mayor concentración de estrenos hay, con el fin de la época de Halloween comienzan los estrenos de series y películas más alineadas a mis gustos personales, casualmente esta época va coincidiendo con el final de mi semestre por lo que me caen de maravilla para ir relajándome, en este oportunidad les hablare acerca de la secuela de Enola Holmes, su primera entrega fue de mi total agrado y aunque no hable de la misma en su momento, la verdad es que la disfrute muchísimo por lo que la espera para del lanzamiento de su segunda parte se me hizo eterna.
These last months are definitely where there is a higher concentration of premieres, with the end of the Halloween season begin the premieres of series and movies more aligned to my personal tastes, coincidentally this time is coinciding with the end of my semester so I fall wonderfully to go relaxing, in this opportunity I will talk about the sequel to Enola Holmes, its first installment was of my total liking and although I did not talk about it at the time, the truth is that I enjoyed it very much so the wait for the release of its second part became eternal.
Basada en la serie de libros “Las aventuras de Enola Holmes” escrita por Nancy Springer, las películas esta enmaradas en un género de misterio y aventuras (con cierto tinte de comedia) que cuentan las aventuras investigativas de nuestra protagonista Enola Holmes (Millie Bobby Brown). La primera entrega fue lanzada el 23 de septiembre del 2020 por la plataforma de Netflix, debido a la alta aceptación con la que conto esta película, fue renovada para una secuela que fue recientemente lanzada el pasado 4 de noviembre. Esta segunda parte arranca tras el éxito de Enola en su anterior caso y con la apertura de su propia agencia de detective en un intento de seguir los pasos de su hermano Sherlock Holmes (Henry Cavill), sin embargo pronto se da cuenta de lo difícil que es para una mujer ejercer dicho trabajo, resignada a cerrar su agencia aceptar dicha realidad, encontrada por la pequeña joven cerillera que le pide encontrar a su hermana desaparecida, si saber todas las complicaciones y peligros a los que serie expuesta Enola por este caso, la chica acepta y se embarca en este nueva misión.
Based on the book series "The Adventures of Enola Holmes" written by Nancy Springer, the films are framed in a genre of mystery and adventure (with a certain tinge of comedy) that tell the investigative adventures of our protagonist Enola Holmes (Millie Bobby Brown). The first installment was released on September 23rd, 2020 by the Netflix platform, due to the high acceptance of this film, it was renewed for a sequel that was recently released on November 4th. This second part starts after the success of Enola in her previous case and with the opening of her own detective agency in an attempt to follow in the footsteps of his brother Sherlock Holmes (Henry Cavill), however soon realizes how difficult it is for a woman to exercise such work, resigned to close his agency to accept this reality, found by the little young matchmaker who asks her to find her missing sister, if knowing all the complications and dangers to which series exposed Enola for this case, the girl accepts and embarks on this new mission.
Como bien dije al inicio del post, la primera película de Enola me gustó muchísimo y la disfrute al máximo de hecho me hizo muy feliz cuando anunciaron su renovación, y aunque no recuerdo muchas cosas de la historia porque hace mucho tiempo que la vi y no me dio chance de verla de nuevo para recordar los acotamientos, si puedo decir que esta segunda parte me gustó mucho más, la historia la sentí con un tono más adulto y serio, hablamos de temas de conspiración, muertes, estafas, rebeliones y demás asuntos y justo eso hizo mantenerme completamente atrapada en la historia, y ni siquiera sentí las 2 hora de duración que tiene la película. Disfrute mucho la evolución y crecimiento de los personajes, la relación e interacción entre Enola y Sherlock que nos dieron en esta segunda entrega se me hizo súper amena, en la primera película se notaba que hacia un montón de tiempo no se veían y aquí siento que nos dieron esos primeros pasos para la construcción de una verdadera relación de hermanos.
As I said at the beginning of the post, I really liked the first Enola movie and I enjoyed it to the fullest, in fact it made me very happy when they announced its renewal, and although I don't remember many things of the story because it's been a long time since I saw it and I didn't have the chance to see it again to remember the accents, I can say that I liked this second part much more, I can say that I liked this second part much more, the story had a more adult and serious tone, we talk about conspiracy themes, deaths, scams, rebellions and other issues and just that made me stay completely trapped in the story, and I didn't even feel the 2 hours of duration that the film has. I really enjoyed the evolution and growth of the characters, the relationship and interaction between Enola and Sherlock that we were given in this second installment was super enjoyable, in the first film it was noticeable that they hadn't seen each other for a long time and here I feel that we were given those first steps towards building a real sibling relationship.
Como ustedes ya saben, yo soy una absoluta fan del romance por lo que obviamente no puedo dejar pasar el pequeño romance que nos dan en esta historia, Enola y Tewkesbury (Louis Partridge) quienes se conocieron en la primera entrega (de hecho, él fue su primer caso) han dado señales de romance por todas partes y yo me alimente de las pequeñas migajas de la primera película, y en esta secuela vaya que me terminaron de alimentar, en definitiva me parecen de lo más tierno, y justo otro de los aspectos que me gustan mucho de estas películas en general, es que a pesar de la historia romántica que nos dan, toda la trama no gira en torno a este aspecto de hecho es una pequeña aristas de toda la historia, y eso hace que no se desvíe de su enfoque principal que son las aventuras investigativas de la protagonista.
As you already know, I'm an absolute fan of romance so obviously I can't pass up the little romance they give us in this story, Enola and Tewkesbury (Louis Partridge) who met in the first installment (in fact, he was her first case) have shown signs of romance everywhere and I fed off the little crumbs in the first movie, and in this sequel they really fed me, In short I find them the most tender, and just another aspect that I like a lot of these films in general, is that despite the romantic story that they give us, the whole plot does not revolve around this aspect in fact is a small edge of the whole story, and that makes it does not deviate from its main focus which are the investigative adventures of the protagonist.
Evidentemente no todo es color de rosa en esta película, y si debo resaltar algunos detalles que no fueron de mi total agrado, el primero es que honestamente me hizo falta un poco la presencia de Mycroft Holmes (el otro hermano de Enola) y es que siento que en la primera película tuvo mucha importancia (yo lo llegue a odiar la verdad) y en esta segunda historia prácticamente no existe, si mal no recuerdo creo que ni siquiera lo nombran o dicen dónde está, sencillamente no existe y eso a mi parecer deja un pequeño fallo en la historia. Otro aspecto que me hizo ruido fue el villano de esta historia, y es que al menos para mí fue bastante obvio desde un poco menos de la mitad de la película quien era el responsable de todo lo que estaba pasando, y creo que cuando trabajas con una historia que le da relevancia al misterio, cuidar este detalle era importante para mantener al espectador enganchado intentado resolver la historia conjuntamente con el protagonista.
Evidently not everything is rosy in this film, and if I must highlight some details that were not of my total pleasure, the first is that honestly I missed a little the presence of Mycroft Holmes (the other brother of Enola) and I feel that in the first film was very important (I came to hate the truth) and in this second story practically does not exist, if I remember correctly I think they do not even name him or say where he is, simply does not exist and that in my opinion leaves a small flaw in the story. Another aspect that made me noise was the villain of this story, and is that at least for me it was quite obvious from a little less than half of the film who was responsible for everything that was happening, and I think that when you work with a story that gives relevance to the mystery, take care of this detail was important to keep the viewer hooked trying to solve the story together with the protagonist.
En definitiva es una película que recomiendo totalmente, como bien mencione tiene sus fallos pero esto en ningún momento la hace aburrida ni imposible de ver o digerir, el trabajo de hace cada uno de los actores es magnífico y eso se nota, hay compromiso con la historia y eso siento que es la clave de su actual éxito, esta segunda película es de las pocas que puedo decir que si no es mejor que la primera (aunque para mi si lo es), al menos no es una absoluta decepción como es recurrente en las secuelas.
In short it is a film that I totally recommend, as I mentioned it has its flaws but this does not make it boring or impossible to watch or digest, the work of each of the actors is magnificent and that shows, there is commitment to the story and that I feel is the key to its current success, this second film is one of the few that I can say that if it is not better than the first (although for me it is), at least it is not an absolute disappointment as is recurrent in the sequels.
