It is difficult that a film that rotates almost entirely under the same situation can give us the necessary impulse to be interested in continuing to see what happens and what will happen. Oxygen perfectly achieves this, hooking us a few minutes since the beginning of the film, giving us a bit of tension and intriguing us at the same time.
Liz is a girl who wakes up inside a capsule where she was in a cryogenic state. The artificial intelligence inside the capsule warns you that your oxygen level has dropped considerably due to a failure in one of the capsule's processors. The feeling of claustrophobia cannot wait and we can understand the feeling of frustration that Liz can have.
Es difícil que una película que gira casi en su totalidad bajo una misma situación pueda darnos el impulso necesario para estar interesados en seguir viendo que pasa y que sucederá. Oxígeno, consigue perfectamente esto, enganchándonos pocos minutos transcurridos desde el inicio de la película, dándonos un poco de tensión e intrigándonos al mismo tiempo.
Liz es una chica que despierta dentro de una capsula en donde se encontraba en estado criogénico. La inteligencia artificial dentro de la capsula le advierte que su nivel de oxigeno ha bajado considerablemente debido a una falla en uno de los procesadores de la capsula. La sensación de claustrofobia no se deja esperar y podemos entender la sensación de frustración que puede tener Liz.
Not being enough with all the above, Liz does not remember who she is, does not know why she is there and a tidal wave of questions begins to resonate in her head. She tries to find information about herself through artificial intelligence, even making calls, but nothing can solve the riddle.
Liz's moments of despair are incredible but despite everything, she is a woman who keeps on looking for a solution and only having minutes to live to solve the puzzle that is inside her head but that she cannot remember, that is, the solution is her. herself but must rummage through her memories first to get out of that capsule alive.
No bastando con todo lo dicho anteriormente, Liz no recuerda quien es, no sabe por qué ella está allí y un maremoto de preguntas le empieza a resonar en su cabeza. Intenta buscar información sobre ella misma a través de la inteligencia artificial, haciendo incluso llamadas, pero nada consigue resolver el enigma.
Los momentos de desesperación de Liz son increíbles pero pese a todo es una mujer que sigue adelante buscando una solución y solo contando con minutos de vida para resolver el rompecabezas que está dentro de su cabeza pero que no lograr recordar, es decir la solución es ella misma pero debe hurgar en sus recuerdos primero para salir con vida de esa capsula.
This is the first French science fiction film that I see and the graphic section that it has is quite good, with a quite original premise within this genre, simple but while the images are passing in front of us and we are learning about things, more it keeps us hooked. The sci-fi catalog that Netflix offers us is not exactly good and since Annihilation I have not seen anything that is really worth until I saw this title.
Esta es la primera película francesa que veo de ciencia ficción y el apartado grafico que posee es bastante bueno, contando con una premisa bastante original dentro de este género, simple pero mientras van pasando las imágenes delante de nosotros y nos vamos enterando de cosas, más nos mantiene enganchados. El catálogo de ciencia ficción que nos ofrece Netflix no es precisamente bueno y desde Aniquilación no he visto nada que valga realmente la pena hasta que vi este título.
This is a real science fiction movie, cold, concise, and without heroics. Logic must be used to solve a situation but it is inevitable to feel empathy for a character who is locked up and not even remembering who he is. Little by little her memories will help her to reveal some things along with some calls that she manages to make.
The end of this title gives it a quite interesting twist, also reminding us of the great event we have been living through since 2020: The pandemic. The isolation that many of us live may be the engine of all this filming that makes the most of this historical event to tell us a plausible science fiction story.
Esta es una real película de ciencia ficción, fría, concisa y sin heroísmos. La lógica debe ser usada para poder resolver una situación pero es inevitable sentir empatía ante un personaje que se encuentra encerrado y ni siquiera recordando quien es. Sus recuerdos poco a poco la irán ayudando a desvelar algunas cosas junto a unas llamadas que consigue hacer.
El final de este título le da un giro de tuerca bastante interesante, recordándonos también el gran evento por el que estamos viviendo desde el 2020: La pandemia. El aislamiento que muchos vivimos puede ser el motor de todo este rodaje que aprovecha al máximo este evento histórico para contarnos una historia de ciencia ficción plausible.
Without the need for special effects or any spectacularity, Oxigeno manages to enter a world where great discoveries and scientific innovations have been achieved, a world where humans are forced to make an interstellar journey. The central axis of this production is the survival of an individual but it also makes mention of our species, humanity.
The interpretation of Liz (Melanie Laurent) is very well executed, we can feel what she is suffering, frustration, restlessness, despair and even agony. Liz must fight against all these feelings to give her head rein to find the solution to the disaster she is subjected to, but what happens when we don't even know who we are? What if what we have of ourselves are just implanted memories? The movie plays very well with all these concepts that we already know like cloning, cryogenics, memory transfer, viruses and pandemics and interstellar travel.
Sin necesidad de efectos especiales ni espectacularidad alguna, Oxigeno logra adentrarnos en un mundo en donde grandes descubrimientos e innovaciones científicas se han logrado, un mundo en donde el humano se ve obligado a hacer un viaje interestelar. El eje central de esta producción es la supervivencia de un individuo pero también nos hace mención de nuestra especie, la humanidad.
La interpretación de Liz (Melanie Laurent) está muy bien ejecutada, podemos sentir lo que ella padece, frustración, desasosiego, desesperación e incluso agonía. Liz debe luchar en contra de todos estos sentimientos para darle rienda a su cabeza para buscar la solución al desastre en que se encuentra sometida pero ¿Qué pasa cuando ni siquiera sabemos quiénes somos? ¿Qué pasaría si lo que tenemos de nosotros mismos son solo recuerdos implantados? La película juega muy bien con todos estos conceptos que ya conocemos como la clonación, la criogenia, la transferencia de recuerdos, los virus y las pandemias y el viaje interestelar.
As you can see, it is a film that knows how to play with many ideas that are not part of the main plot but give a boost to a story that can easily get bored in half an hour. This is not what happens with Oxigeno, the film knows how to give us in its duration of one hour and forty minutes the necessary pieces to keep us attentive until we reach the long-awaited climax.
Against all odds, Oxygen is another of the science fiction movies that you should see in the Netflix catalog. A film with a quite original concept and that adds many others with a spectacular result, without the need for a useless amalgam of ideas, all the concepts presented are necessary for the correct development of the plot. Highly recommended movie.
Como podrán ver es una película que se las sabe jugar con muchas ideas que no forman parte de la trama principal pero le dan un impulso a una historia que fácilmente puede llegar a aburrirnos en media hora. Esto no es lo que sucede con Oxigeno, la película sabe darnos en su duración de una hora cuarenta minutos las piezas necesarias para mantenernos atentos hasta llegar al tan ansiado clímax.
Contra todo pronóstico, Oxigeno es otra de las películas de ciencia ficción que si o si debes ver dentro del catálogo de Netflix. Una película con un concepto bastante original y que agrega otros tantos con un resultado espectacular, sin necesidad de una amalgama de ideas inútil, todos los conceptos presentados son necesarios para el correcto desarrollo de la trama. Película altamente recomendada.
