Hello friends of the cinephile community par excellence, after postponing this post for health reasons, I decided to continue until completing this work for you; and it is a pleasant experience to see a film that leaves us with that feeling of "I haven't seen this before". For this reason, I make the effort to write my impressions for you. It is a film called "Suspect Zero", produced and directed by the American Edmun Elias Merhige, whose tendency towards horror films is well known; so this production has that thriller and suspense flavor that keeps us there, waiting for what we discover with the main characters, played in a great way by actors such as Ben Kingsley, Aaron Eckhart, the beautiful Carri-Anne Moss and Harry Lenix.

Hola amigos de la comunidad cinéfila por excelencia, luego de postergar este post por motivos de salud, decidí continuar hasta completar este trabajo para ustedes; y resulta una grata experiencia ver un filme que nos deje esa sensación de “Esto no lo había visto antes”. Por tal motivo, hago el esfuerzo de escribir mis impresiones para ustedes. Se trata de la película llamada “Sospechoso Cero”, producida y dirigida por el estadounidense Edmun Elias Merhige, cuya tendencia hacia los filmes de terror es bien conocida; entonces esta producción cuenta con ese sabor a thriller y suspenso que nos mantiene allí, a la expectativa de lo que vamos descubriendo junto a los personajes principales, interpretados de gran manera, por actores de la talla de Ben Kingsley, Aaron Eckhart, la hermosa Carri-Anne Moss y Harry Lenix.

It would be very difficult for any specialist in criminology to find a culprit whose reputation rules him out as a heinous killer. This situation of mystery and starting from scratch, with no relevant clues, caught my attention. Then I said to myself (I'm hooked on this movie) hahaha.
Siempre es importante la calidad del elenco, creo que eso es vital en una película, dado que son la verdadera portada del filme y en fin, quienes cumplen con la labor de dar vida a los personajes, para entretenernos como público. Pero en este caso en particular, se trata de la resolución por parte de un agente del FBI, de múltiples asesinatos en serie, que ocurren en zonas alejadas, lo cual despista a los oficiales, en hallar a los responsables de tales hechos. Sería muy difícil para cualquier especialista en criminología, encontrar a un culpable cuya reputación lo descarta de tener un perfil de atroz asesino. Esta situación de misterio y de comenzar desde cero, sin pistas relevantes, llamó poderosamente mi atención. Entonces me dije (Me he enganchado con esta película) jajaja.
The controversial agent Thomas Mackelway, begins to have some kind of visions related to the murders, but it turns out that there is someone else, someone who even gets the killers before him and lets him know with some messages, strange drawings that, although they serve as clues, have meanings that turn everything into a maze (I think I got lost in this one at times hahaha). But Thom has not led a perfect life either, there are ghosts from the past that haunt him and tangle things even more. Chilling images and drawings, macabre deaths and inscriptions on the bodies of the murdered, made me feel like I was inside the plot, that's what this film production has achieved and has left me literally glued to the screen hahaha.

Después de los capítulos enredados y tumultuosos, le cogí el hilo a la cuestión y Thomas también contó con la ayuda de su nueva compañera para el caso; gracias al director por la introducción de Carri-Anne Moss, una actriz que me encanta porque le adiciona ese drama natural que posee esta bellísima dama canadiense. Pero resulta que Fran ya había tenido una relación amorosa con Thom y que no funcionó; pero como buenos adultos, saben conllevar el momento y se apoyan mutuamente en el aspecto profesional. De manera que su papel es muy importante para Thom y para el caso. Sin embargo el enigmático personaje de Benjamin O´Ryan no es fácil de encontrar, siempre está uno o varios pasos adelante y se muestra como un despiadado y particular justiciero; que toma la ley en sus manos, pero otorgando un severo y doloroso castigo, antes de quitarles la vida. When Rich Charleston, the Chief of the department intervenes to remove Thom from the case, he follows his instinct and his strange visions and in a last effort (with O'Ryan already identified as the perpetrator of the executions) goes in pursuit of that "50-foot shark" that Ben mentioned so much. That was one of the keys to decipher the riddles and find the last murderer.

De mi parte siempre me ha gustado la justicia, sobre todo en filmes en los que los villanos se lo tienen bien merecido. Así que Ben O´Ryan se convierte para mí en un ejemplar justiciero. También me gustó la manera como Thom, comienza a tener visiones que le llevan a dar con el paradero de O´Ryan y con el último asesino, alguien que también es realmente impensado que hace mucho daño, desapareciendo a sus víctimas y dando sufrimiento a los familiares. Cuando Rich Charleston, el Jefe del departamento interviene para destituir a Thom del caso, este sigue su instinto y sus extrañas visiones y en un último esfuerzo (con O´Ryan ya identificado como autor de los ajusticiamientos) sale en la persecución de aquel “Tiburon de 15 metros” al que tanto Ben mencionaba. Esa era una de las claves para descifrar los acertijos y dar con el último asesino.

I disagreed with this scene, because Ben had foreshadowed that Thom would be present at his death, which he saw as a release from all that torment, from seeing people doing evil, who wouldn't let him sleep.

No obstante, hubo algo que no me gustó, o con lo que no estuve de acuerdo; y fue cuando O´Ryan captura a Thom y lo lleva a un lugar apartado donde le amenaza de muerte, preguntándole repetidas veces ¿Tienes miedo? Estuve en desacuerdo con esta escena, porque Ben había presagiado que Thom estaría presente en su muerte, lo que consideraba como la liberación de todo aquel tormento, de ver a las personas haciendo el mal, que no lo dejaban dormir.

For me, it was a very pleasant experience and that is why I recommend this film.

Sin embargo, esta mala sensación quedaba atrás cuando los personajes unen sus fuerzas y dan con el asesino; acá haré un paréntesis para decir: Me gusta cuando se hace justicia sin tantas formalidades, Thom no pestañea para defenderse y luego hacer lo que debía de hacer. Es decir, sin tantos preámbulos, ni dramas exagerados. Y para colocar la cereza al pastel, Benjamin O´Ryan consigue su ansiada liberación, pero de una manera distinta a la que había visto en sus revelaciones; es decir, también él podía equivocarse un poco. Para mí, ha sido una muy grata experiencia y por eso recomiendo esta película.
