What a crazy movie, My experience watching Coherence (2013).
Greetings friends of the film community, I recently saw a film that was recommended to me because according to my sister it is really good, it is about a group of friends who get together to observe a meteorological event and it turns out that this strange event changed their lives in a strange and hypnotising way. Well, I asked for the name to see it online and I did indeed find it, its name: Coherence, by American director James Ward Byrkit. Released in 2013, and watching it has left me with a kind of double sensation. Now I'll tell you why.

Saludos amigos de la comunidad cinéfila, hace poco vi un filme que me recomendaron porque según mi hermana es buenísima, se refiere a un grupo de amigos que se reúnen para observar un evento meteorológico y resulta que éste extraño evento cambió sus vidas de una manera tan extraña como hipnotizante. Pues le pregunté el nombre para verla en línea y efectivamente la encontré, su nombre: Coherencia, del director estadounidense James Ward Byrkit. Estrenada en el año 2013 y que verla me ha dejado una especie de doble sensación. Ahora les cuento por qué.

The group of friends who meet up made a good impression on me, first of all because they are adults, not immature kids who do stupid things (I thought so), but it turns out that when the moment comes when they are under a lot of stress due to the situation of nerves and anguish, knowing what is really happening, they start to act as if they are, well at least some of them hahaha. In total there are eight people, that is, four couples, except for a couple who are just starting to date, so in my opinion they already know each other well.
El grupo de amigos que se reúnen, me causó una buena impresión, en primer lugar porque son personas adultas, nada de chamos inmaduros que cometen tonterías (eso pensé), pero resulta que cuando llega el momento de estar bajo un fuerte estrés por la situación de nervios y angustia, al saber lo que sucede en realidad; comienzan a actuar como si lo fuesen, bueno al menos algunos de ellos jajaja. En total son ocho personas, es decir, cuatro parejas, a excepción de un par que apenas comienzan a salir, por lo que a mi entender ya se conocen bien.

Entonces me lancé en esta aventura de ver el filme y como en todo inicio, hay una especie de acomodo de situaciones para entrar en la verdadera trama. El desarrollo de esta se genera en la sala de estar de la cada de Lee y Mike, a la que todos van llegando y saludándose calurosamente porque llevan tiempo sin verse. Organizan una cena con bebidas incluidas para hacer un brindis y esperar el momento para observar el paso de un cometa; y es precisamente a este fenómeno al que le atribuyen las cosas extrañas que comienzan a suceder.

An atmosphere of suspense is then generated in which the characters of Hugh and Amir, decide to leave to go to a house that does have electricity (the whole neighbourhood is dark), when they return they bring with them a box, when they open it it contains marked photos of the 8 friends, there is where I have started to think about the plot, But when Hugh writes a note to take it to the other house, the door rings and when they open it they find the same note stuck on their door, with the same words, that is to say, our friends are living a kind of parallel worlds, of realities that they access when they pass through a dark area.

Se genera entonces una atmosfera de suspenso en la que los personajes de Hugh y Amir, deciden salir para dirigirse a una casa que si tiene energía eléctrica (todo el vecindario esta oscuro), al regresar traen consigo una caja, al abrirla contiene fotos marcadas de los 8 amigos, allí es que me han puesto a pensar en la trama, pero cuando Hugh escribe una nota para llevarla a la otra casa, justamente suena la puerta y al abrirla se consiguen con la misma nota pegada en su puerta, con las mismas palabras, es decir, nuestros amigos están viviendo una especie de mundos paralelos, de realidades a las que acceden al pasar por un área oscura.

Well, that strange status quo is partly repeated in this film, which more than fulfils the premise of making the viewer think about the probabilities of something like this happening and how we would deal with it.
Comienza con esto, toda una confusión para saber si ellos en realidad son ellos, o son sus otros yo, pero a la vez se da a entender, que hay muchas casas en las cuales las cuatro parejas de amigos cenan y brindan y esperan el paso del cometa, todo de manera simultánea. Algo difícil de comprender quizás porque nuestra mente no esté preparada para tal situación. Me hizo recordar la serie “Deslizadores”, de la cual hice un post hace tiempo y en la que los protagonistas iban de mundo en mundo, intentando volver a casa, es decir, a su realidad inicial. Pues ese extraño status quo se repite en parte en esta cinta, que cumple con creces la premisa de hacer al espectador ponerse a pensar en las probabilidades de que algo así suceda y sobre cuál sería nuestra manera de afrontarlo.

A film that doesn't need big special effects or a big budget to hold our attention, which is a great achievement. One point in favour: It kept me on the edge of my seat during the whole film, I didn't notice the passage of time. One point against: At the end it left me curious to see a few more; maybe that's the director's intention hahaha.
Mi único punto a mejorar sería al final de cómo terminan las cosas al amanecer de aquella larga noche, porque al parecer sencillamente no terminan. No obstante, es un viaje que abre la mente para decirte que esto puede suceder; o lo peor del caso, ya ha sucedido y no lo hemos notado. Coherencia nos trae a su vez, el recuerdo de un ejercicio de paradoja en la cual se superponen la presencia en vida o muerte de un sujeto dentro de una caja; y en la cual ambas posibilidades chocaban entre sí hasta que un agente externo abriera la caja. Es decir, esa teoría existe en la física cuántica y obviamente en la metafísica.
Una película que no necesita de grandes efectos especiales ni gran presupuesto para lograr captar nuestra atención, lo cual es un gran logro. Un punto a favor: Me mantuvo a la expectativa durante toda la cinta, no noté el paso del tiempo. Un punto en contra: Al final me dejó con curiosidad de ver un pocos más; tal vez esa es la intención del director jajaja.
