Claro que nuestro lente va evolucionando y con tantas tecnologías aplicadas el cine, puede resultar algo aburrido ver producciones carentes de efectos especiales y modismos que se han convertido en clichés. Pero en realidad esta obra, me ha hecho recordar lo impresionante que quedé la primera vez que la vi.

So let's imagine a somewhat modest production, which we could only appreciate in the comfort of our home, I remember seeing it a couple of times.

Al indagar un poco en la naturaleza de la cinta, leí que fue presentada solo para TV (con razón no la conseguía en las listas jajaja). Entonces imaginemos una producción algo modesta, que solo pudimos apreciar en la comodidad de nuestra casa, recuerdo haberla visto un par de veces.
In those glorious 90's, we used to watch TV on Sundays, almost all day long and with the family; also during the weekdays, the TV channels would announce most of the programming for the day off. That was something almost religious hahaha and nobody dared to criticize anything, in fact our parents sometimes only watched one or two shows and then went to rest. While my siblings and I, we stayed to see what surprises the list of available channels had in store. That's how we fell in love with so many movie classics.

Otro detalle a destacar, es que nadie criticaba los posibles errores o escenas carentes de algún sentido en la película; uno se dedicaba exclusivamente a disfrutar, no existía por aquellos días el internet, ni los tantos expertos del séptimo arte que abundan hoy. Sólo encontrábamos algunas reseñas, en la sección dedicada al cine, en los diarios de circulación nacional y regional ¿Recuerdan las páginas de las funciones de las salas de cine? Qué gratos recuerdos. Pero volviendo al tema, un cruel y sorpresivo asesino anónimo, hacía estragos en el pueblo de China Lake y solo alguien podía detenerlo.
The guy had the perfect alibi and it seems to be his unpredictable way of attacking his victims. Regardless of what might be considered plot holes or obvious situations, the acting of the main characters is masterful. The cops, whether they are honest or not, have an almost natural ability to investigate and deduce situations that distinguishes them from their other qualities. Sheriff Sam Brodi and Officer Jack Donnelly are a clear example of this, as they both do their jobs very well, for better and for worse.

What drives a man to mercilessly kill innocent people is interrupted by someone with principles and great professional ethics that move him to do the right thing. I found that old film, which was lost in time. Maybe it is not the best of them all, but it is one of those that left a mark in my memories at some point. However, beyond looking for some tedious comparison, there is an internal battle in each character, the good guy who seeks to do justice and the bad guy, who has strayed from the path and continues to leave his chair empty, while the roll is called in the police force where he once belonged.
