Although it may be a quite used style, fantasy and magic anime in medieval style are still my favorites or at least the ones that can easily catch my attention to try to watch at least one chapter, likewise if an anime has a name similar to mine it is normal that I get curious to see it at least to see if it is interesting or not. Kuro no Shoukanshi was an anime that I decided to watch partly just because of its name and theme but in the end I ended up finding it quite entertaining and although with some aspects that could be improved, it served to pass the free time, this anime was published last year although at the moment it only has one season with no news or rumors of a possible second season.
Like so many anime, Kuro no Shoukanshi is an Isekai of reincarnation in a world of magic and fantasy which has some typical elements of RPG games such as levels and skills, as well as attribute windows, although only the protagonist has this ability, although it can be quite common this approach has an aspect which although it may be somewhat insignificant to the plot, it is also something curious and that allows completely disengage from the history of the protagonist in his past life. The protagonist of this adventure is Kelvin who by a mistake of the gods died and therefore is sent to another world to be reincarnated, this time there is some explanation of why the protagonist is so strong to the point of breaking the scale of strength and this is because when deciding their skills in the new world chose to lose all his past memories to have stronger skills such as being a Summoner S rank, so besides being able to summon even gods he increases all the attributes to his summonings, something quite curious although thinking about it in a certain way it would not be very good to lose all your memories and become a different person.
As is very common in all fantasy and magic anime we have the adventurers' guild and we see how the protagonist begins his life as an adventurer doing missions to survive and then go involving the plot and main enemies, something funny about Kuro no Shoukanshi is that its protagonist has a certain obsession something peculiar with which always seeks to be stronger and fight against extremely powerful enemies but not to save someone or get fame, he is simply addicted to the fighting and every time he sees someone very strong wants to fight against that character whether enemy or friend. A somewhat peculiar goal but that serves to have some combats and action scenes quite entertaining and exciting.
This anime also belongs to the Harem genre due to the fact that practically all the team that the protagonist puts together is made up of only women except for a ghostly knight who is always with his great armor, a positive aspect is that the story and the development is not exclusively focused on the Harem nor does it resort to Ecchi incense elements, the possible romantic approach of the other protagonists is in a subtle way and does not become repetitive in a way that allows you to focus more on the different adventures they are having while gathering their equipment and as it seems that the main objective of the protagonist is simply to seek complicated combats and get more comfort in their daily lives.
An aspect in the story that only happens once but that I still found quite unusual for an Isakai anime is that the protagonist ends up reincarnating another person in his new world to also join his group, although in many iseakis we see how several characters are reincarnated in the new world or how there are even several from different times, it is not something usual and in fact I think it was the first time in an anime where I saw that the reincarnated protagonist made a magical ritual to bring another character to reincarnate to join his adventure, although it was only something once in the season and most likely will not be repeated again it is still something quite peculiar in the story.
As it usually happens in action and magic anime, the designs and combat scenes where spells and magical attacks appear, they have a pretty good visual quality and its very intense and vivid color palette is ideal to attract attention, although one aspect that was a bit unexpected and may be annoying or disappointing for some was the use of CGI for some fights, especially those where there seemed to be more action and where the dark knight appeared the most, although it could not be considered as a CGI of terrible quality, it is always disappointing that the most exciting fights or moments in the anime are not animated, although it may be due to a simple economic or time decision. In spite of everything Kuro no Shoukanshi ended up being an entertaining anime and also for my taste it has an incredible opening both in design and music.
