Liar Liar es un anime de la temporada actual la cual ya está en sus últimos días y precisamente hace poco se público su ultimo capitulo por lo cual su primera temporada está completa con un total de 12 capítulos, su enfoque me recordó un poco a Kakegurui al tratarse de un instituto en donde los jóvenes compiten en diferentes juegos que ellos mismos deciden y los “mejores” que viene a ser los que más ganan tienen más “poder”.
La historia a simple vista se ve curiosa, una isla la cual está dividida en varias academias alberga a una gran cantidad de jóvenes quienes compiten entre ellos mismos para vencer a otros y conseguir estrellas, aunque con un toque algo futurista y surreal. Nuestro protagonista será Hiroto Shinohara quien llega a esta isla probablemente con el motivo menos ambicioso de todos, mientras los demás van en busca del reconocimiento el simplemente va para poder encontrarse con una amiga de la infancia que parece estar en la isla y también resulta ser de los estudiantes más débiles de todos al no tener ni una sola estrella.
Por un giro del destino y la implacable fuerza del guion termina venciendo a una de las mejores de la academia de una forma algo absurda y con un poco de Ecchi de manera que ahora tendrá que mantener una mentira ante todos de ser el nuevo 7 estrellas debido a un chantaje de su directora, un poco rebuscada la forma de iniciar todo y más aún las casualidades con la que no solo gana contra una estudiante mucho mejor, sino que también consigue justo lo que necesita para su mentira.
Un elemento algo llamativo es el aspecto futurístico en donde el mayor fuerte será la simulación holográfica e incluso el hacer aparecer objetos muy irreales como si nada, toda la isla es extremadamente tecnológica de manera que los juegos pueden tener elementos visuales muy interesantes, otro aspecto que ayuda a la variedad en los capítulos son los juegos en cuestión, al poder ser básicamente cualquier juego que ellos escojan eso permite tener capítulos y enfrentamientos muy diferentes en donde puede ser desde simple duelo de miradas hasta carreras y cacerías del tesoro por toda la isla pero con los beneficios de los objetos y mejoras de las propias estrellas y es que entre más estrellas tenga un estudiante mayores mejoras puede tener como reducir el tiempo de juego del rival, manipular el azar de dados y mucho más. El protagonista cuenta con la ayuda de terceros para mantener su mentira.
Realmente la variedad en los juegos termina siendo uno de los principales atractivos de este anime y aunque es evidente que el protagonista básicamente no puede perder ningún duelo es entretenido como mientras espera a que todo se pueda resolver con la ayuda de los terceros, él debe actuar de una forma arrogante y confiada para hacer creer que en realidad es el mejor de la isla, lo cual al no ser su personalidad natural tiene un resultado un poco cómico.
Además también tiene cierto aspecto de romcom en su historia pero si bien puede resultar interesante y muchas veces resulta divertido en los animes, tambien puede resultar un poco aburrido cuando es básicamente con casi todas las personajes que tengan medianamente relevancia en la historia aunque por otro lado también cuenta con cierto enfoque que nos muestra como muchas veces el ego o la inseguridad termina provocando que las personas hagan cosas que luego se arrepienten y como otras logran aprovecharse de esas debilidades para chantajear a los demás.
El estilo y la calidad de animación de Liar Liar es uno de sus mejores aspectos y esto se debe a que combina un estilo que podría considerarse normal y hasta algo clásico con escenas y diseños muy detallados y bastante llamativos en especial es las escenas y simulaciones de los juegos que cuentan con colores y tonalidades muy intensas lo cual puede recordar a las escenas de magia en casi todos los animes actuales, también logra tener escenas fuera de los momentos intensos de los juegos que resultan muy agradables a la vista. Uno de sus aspectos de animación más interesantes termina siendo un estilo en donde algunos elementos del fondo principalmente los personajes sin relevancia son mostrados como pegatinas de plástico en el fondo animado con borde y todo, esto me recuerda bastante a la saga de Paper Mario, sinceramente me gustó mucho este estilo de animación y creo que resulto muy acorde a la historia y temática, de forma metafórica se pude pensar que sirve para decirte que todos los personajes con este estilo de pegatina terminan siendo simplemente de relleno y que se pueden quitar de la historia sin mayor inconveniente. Aunque no es el mejor anime de esta temporada Liar Liar resulto ser un anime entretenido para pasar el rato.
