Romantic comedies always tend to have the school approach and although it is the most watched, it is also entertaining in some anime that present a different theme, Yumemiru Danshi wa Genjitsushugisha is a school romcom released in the middle of last year where it has a small peculiarity in its story unlike the vast majority of anime of this style, where we will see how the protagonist after being rejected so much decides to leave behind his crush and choose not to keep trying to conquer her, all to see how now she regrets and is interested in him.
The protagonists of this story will be Sajou Wataru and Natsukawa Aika. Sajou turns out to be the typical boy in love, in this case with Natsukawa his childhood friend and who for a long time has tried to go out with her, but she has always rejected him again and again. From one moment to another we see how with one event Sajou decides to simply give up on his goal and leave her alone, still being friends, but without looking for her at all times.
At first you can notice the change in Sajou's personality when he gives up his goal of dating Natsukawa, even his own friends and classmates begin to notice him somewhat distant and discouraged, likewise they are very strange to see him no longer chasing Natsukawa at any opportunity, however, thanks to this he seems to be more solitary with which as typical romcom will end up in unexpected encounters to meet other characters.
The development of the story follows the most frequent line of school romcoms, the adventures and experiences of Sajou in school life, how he interacts with his classmates and also with what is related to the student council, having to take care of general and tedious matters. We also see how Sajou is having encounters with new characters like Shinomiya Rin and Inatomi Yuyu, from the student council with whom you will have funny moments and scenes with a slight undertone of romance.
Two interesting aspects of the story are the personality of Sajou who, despite his friends' impressions of him being the typical lover and worrying only about Natsukawa's love, also turns out to have a calm attitude, somewhat cold and with good analytical skills, in his past he had already been part of a student council so he ends up being a very reliable person for these matters, causing his relationship with the women of the student council to become much closer and with this Natsukawa's jealousy and her doubt when she realizes that Sajou is no longer focused only on her.
Although the story of Yumemiru Danshi wa Genjitsushugisha has several aspects that are a bit generic and frequent in romcom anime, it also has other aspects that manage to be interesting, the moments of romance manage to be entertaining and the aspect of Natsuwaka and her jealousy when noticing that Sajou no longer seems to be focused on her, It is also a bit interesting the way Sajou is and how in the end he turns out to have more abilities than we thought at the beginning, in the same way we can notice how despite his intentions to move away, Sajou has not abandoned his feelings for Natsukawa and he is still in the mental conflict of getting closer to her or moving away thinking it is the best for both of them.
The development of the story achieves its purpose of entertaining you besides having some good comedy moments, although it doesn't stand out as one of the best romcoms, in the end it ends up being interesting and with good moments to watch. In the same way its animation stands out for its simplicity, designs with a somewhat simple style but with a very good overall harmony that is pleasing to the eye, it does not seek to have really detailed scenes or moments and with great visual quality, it even uses classic animation methods such as simple monochrome backgrounds as well as faceless characters to indicate that they are not relevant to the story, a simple and somewhat classic animation effect that is always very nice to watch and helps you focus on the story and the main characters. Las comedias Románticas siempre suelen tener el enfoque escolar y aunque es el más visto, también resulta entretenido en algunos animes que presentan alguna temática diferente, Yumemiru Danshi wa Genjitsushugisha se trata de un romcom escolar lanzado a mediados del año pasado en donde tiene una pequeña peculiaridad en su historia a diferencia de la gran mayorías de animes de este estilo, donde veremos como el protagonista luego de tanto ser rechazado decide dejar atrás su enamoramiento y optar por no seguir tratando de conquistarla, todo para ver como ahora ella se arrepiente y se interesa por él.
Los protagonistas de esta historia serán Sajou Wataru y Natsukawa Aika. Sajou resulta ser el típico muchacho enamorado, en este caso de Natsukawa su amiga de la infancia y a quien durante mucho tiempo ha tratado de salir con ella, pero ella siempre lo ha rechazado una y otra vez. De un momento a otro vemos como con un suceso Sajou decide simplemente rendirse en su objetivo y dejarla tranquila, aun siendo amigos, pero sin buscarla en todo momento.
En un principio se puede notar el cambio de personalidad de Sajou al desistir de su objetivo de salir con Natsukawa, incluso sus propios amigos y compañeros lo empiezan a notar algo distante y desanimado, del mismo modo se extrañan mucho al verlo que ya no persigue a Natsukawa en cualquier oportunidad, sin embargo, gracias a esto parece estar más solitario con lo cual como típica romcom terminara en encuentros inesperados para conocer a otros personajes.
El desarrollo de la historia sigue la línea mas frecuente de las romcom escolares, las aventuras y vivencias de Sajou en la vida escolar, como va interactuando con sus compañeros y también con lo relacionado con el consejo estudiantil, tener que hacerse cargo de asuntos generales y tediosos. También vemos como Sajou va teniendo encuentros con nuevas personajes como Shinomiya Rin y Inatomi Yuyu, del consejo estudiantil con las cuales tendrás momentos divertidos y escenas con un ligero trasfondo de romance.
Dos aspectos interesantes de la historia son la personalidad de Sajou quien a pesar de las impresiones de sus amigos de ser el típico enamorado y preocupando únicamente por el amor de Natsukawa, también resulta tener una actitud tranquila, algo fría y con buena capacidad de análisis, en su pasado ya había sido parte de un consejo estudiantil por lo cual termina siendo una persona muy confiable para estos asuntos, provocando que su relación con las mujeres del consejo estudiantil se vuelva mucho mas cercana y con esto se noten cada vez mas los celos de Natsukawa y su duda al darse cuenta que ya no esta Sajou enfocado solo en ella.
Aunque la historia de Yumemiru Danshi wa Genjitsushugisha tiene varios aspectos un poco genéricos y frecuentes en los animes romcom, también tiene otros aspectos que consiguen ser interesantes, los momentos de romance logra ser entretenidos y el aspecto de Natsuwaka y su aspecto celoso al notar que Sajou ya no parece estar enfocado en ella, también resulta un poco interesante la forma de ser de Sajou y como al final resulta tener mas habilidades de la que pensábamos en un inicio, de igual forma se puede notar como a pesar de sus intenciones de alejarse, Sajou no ha abandonado sus sentimientos por Natsukawa y aun se ve en el conflicto mental de acercarse a ella o alejarse pensando que es lo mejor para ambos.
El desarrollo de la histora consigue su propósito de entretenerte además de tener momentos de comedia bastante buenos, aunque no destacada como una de las mejores romcom, al final termina siendo interesante y con buenos momentos para ver. Del mismo modo su animación destaca por la sencillez, diseños con un estilo algo simple pero con una armonía general muy buena que resulta agradable a la vista, no busca tener escenas o momentos realmente detallados y con gran calidad visual, incluso utiliza métodos de animación clásicos como fondos simples en monocolor así como personajes sin rostro para indicar que no son relevantes en la historia, un efecto de animación sencilla y algo clásica que siempre resulta muy bonita de ver y te ayuda a enfocarte en la historia y los personaje principales. Yumemiru Danshi wa Genjitsushugisha consigue usar algunos enfoques no tan visto para resultar divertido de ver.
