Annabelle: Creation is a prequel to the 2014 horror film Annabelle. Both movies are part of the horror franchise The Conjuring. In this film, which serves as an origin story for the creepy possessed toy, a doll maker and his wife welcome a nun (Miranda Otto) and several orphaned girls into their home after the death of their own daughter. But one of the doll maker's creations starts targeting the guests with brutal attacks. Expect lots of bloody horror violence and jump scares, as well as children in danger. This one is probably for mature horror fans only.
The film is directed by David F. Sandberg, Swedish director who rose to fame thanks to the short film of terror "Lights Out" (2013), a video that went viral on youtube and that builds up (to date) almost 13 million visits. Due to the success of the short film, James Wang produced a film adaptation of the short titled also as Lights Out (2016) and the own F. Sandberg. Between 2006 and 2016, Sandberg has been directing multiple short of terror as "pictured" (2014), "Not So Fast" (2014), "COFFER" (2014), "Panic" (2015) and "Closet Space" (2016). We also know that in 2011, he led several chapters of the documentary series "Earth Savers" (2011).
WHAT'S THE STORY? The new story will focus on a doll maker and his wife, who after losing their daughter in a tragic accident, decide to open the doors of their home to a nun and girls who had to leave the orphanage they inhabited. Soon they will be the target of the doll maker's own creation, a strange and sinister doll known as Annabelle.
