WHAT IS DISOBEDIENCE?
Disobedience is a drama based on Naomi Alderman's novel about how the lives and relationships of two women are affected by the island Jewish community in which they grew up.
There are several scenes of sex: women have sex with men, with moans and pushes (as well as partial nudity), there is also a scene of passionate sex, rather explicit between the two central women. A minor but important character collapses and dies, there are shouts and arguments; A man also angrily grabs his wife during an argument.
The language is not frequent, but it includes at least one use of "fuck" and "shit". A main character smokes cigarettes, a character drinks a glass of whiskey, and there is a social drink and a brief discussion about drugs.
The film is directed by Sebastián Lelio, director, screenwriter, producer and Chilean editor known for films such as "Gloria" (2013) which follows the love affairs of Gloria, a 60-year-old office worker who seeks love after separation and "Una Mujer Fantástica "(2017) a drama about a transgender woman who works as a waitress and moon as a nightclub singer, winner of the Oscar for best non-English speaking film and second Chilean film to win an Academy Award.
Lelio has also directed films such as "La Sagrada Familia" (2006) and "El año del tigre" (2011)
