Greetings friends and receive all a pleasant welcome to one more of my posts about movies and TV series.

I present to you a series called Goblin, the legendary lonely immortal being, the first season consists of 16 chapters with a duration each of almost 2 and a half hours, it was also completed on January 21, 2017.

This series falls into the genres of drama, science fiction, romance, comedy and fantasy, the story focuses on a man named Kim Shin played by Gong Yoo, honestly I think this guy I have seen him in a series called the squid games, but I'm not quite sure which character he was. This series is from south korea.

SUMMARY

As I mentioned before, the series is about a man named Kim Shin at the age of 934 years old, you may think that is a lot of years for a human being, but it turns out that this is not an ordinary human, this is an immortal being.

Kim Shin was granted the blessing / curse due to a strong sin he had years ago, in the era in which only existed the swords and bows, due to a bad decision he made in returning back to his kingdom after a war, provoking with his arrival (because he was forbidden by his king) the death of all his loved ones including his younger sister, who was the bride and future wife of the king at that time, due to his bad decision, God gave him the blessing / curse of becoming an immortal being until the bride of that being appears and takes the sword out of his chest.

Why do I mention blessing / curse?

The blessing is to live millions of years and never die and look the same for thousands of years, but the curse is to see all his loved ones die and not be able to do absolutely nothing, but that's not all, an immortal being is like an angel who has the duty to help disadvantaged souls and do miracles before human beings, a good example would be to save the life of a human being.

Now let's talk about the characters and their relationship, as I don't want to give you spoilers of the series for those who haven't seen it yet.

We already talked about the immortal being named Kim Shin, so now we will talk about "special case", her name is Ji Eun-tak played by Kim Go-eun, a girl who should not have continued her life, that's why she is called "special case".

Ji Eun-tak is a very intelligent girl who studies hard, but without any complications to enter the university, many things will happen to her, both good and bad throughout her years, she will also be mistreated and possibly many of us will feel different reactions from both terrified and angry.

We may feel different reactions of both tenderness and disappointment, since the way she behaves is of a 5 year old girl even though she is already in her 20's, but, on the other hand, it is to understand that the girl did not have a mother who helped her to discipline her behavior, since she only received mistreatment and always remained locked in that feeling of a child to be closer to her mother.

Being a "special case" she has a potential that no human being can have, which allows her to get out of some predicaments and discover mysteries of life both hers and others'.

Angels of death exist and Grim Reaper played by Lee Dong-wook is one of them, but this man has not been an angel of death all his life, this is because god punishes sinners who did a very cruel act, such as suicide by turning them into angels of death and erasing their memory, and if they do a wrong act for being angels of death, they will be paid with their just punishment and they will remember all the bad things they have done in their past life.

But this will not go down well with the angels of death who do wrong deeds, but they will suffer from the memories and wish they had not existed because of remembering all the bad things they have done in the past.

The angels of death, as their name suggests, have the duty to take the souls of people and tell them which path they should follow, whether to stay on earth as souls in pain or go to heaven, the souls in pain become ghosts that in order to go to heaven must finish their legacy on earth.

How will they do it?

When their last wish is fulfilled by someone else.

Kim Shin throughout his years has to look for the bride of the immortal being in order to get his eternal rest, since so many years of life and suffering watching his loved ones die makes him his worst punishment, although he is a multimillionaire man who is not afraid of anything.

He will not be able to fall in love with anyone other than the bride of the immortal being, whose mission is to give eternal rest to the immortal being.

Remembering the sins of his past, he gets depressed every day of his life remembering all those bad moments, but this makes him an extremely serious and emotionless man, until he meets the bride of the immortal being.
