I think all of us who consume Dragon Ball can agree that the best movie in the franchise, over the last decade, is Dragon Ball Super: Broly.
Creo todos los que consumimos Dragón Ball, podemos estar de acuerdo en que la mejor película de la franquicia, durante la última década, es Dragón Ball Súper: Broly.
Soy muy crítico con Dragón Ball y creo que no está en su mejor momento, pero esta película es agradable de ver. Vele totalmente la pena y en este blog quiero dar mi opinión y crítica.

The first thing that catches the attention of this film is the animation. Since it is far away from what we have been seeing lately. This one moves away from the DBS style and gets closer to what DBZ was. For those of us who grew up in the 80s or 90s, it is a caress to the soul. It brings back a lot of nostalgia and memories of our childhood.
Lo primero que llama la atención de esta película es la animación. Ya que se aleja mucho de lo que veníamos vendo últimamente. Esta se aleja del estilo de DBS y se acerca a lo que fue DBZ. Para los que crecimos en la década de los 80s o 90s, es una caricia al alma. Nos trae mucha nostalgia y recuerdos de nuestra infancia.
The second technical aspect that I liked a lot is the soundtrack. You can tell they put a lot of work into the music. I think it has pieces that are good enough to listen to on their own. I left you an example of this.
El segundo aspecto técnico que me gustó bastante es la banda sonora. Se nota que trabajaron mucho en la música. Creo que tiene piezas lo suficientemente buenas como para escucharlas aparte. Les dejé un ejemplo de esto.

I really liked the personality they gave Broly, there is a considerable improvement compared to his old version. The old Broly was a very monotonous character, to the point that he seemed stupid and mentally retarded. 90% of his dialogue was yelling "Kakaroto". His motivation for hating Goku was that when they were babys he cried a lot and annoyed him... In contrast, the new Broly has a personality, origin and motivations.
Me gustó mucho la personalidad que le dieron a Broly, hay una mejora considerable a comparación de su versión antigua. El viejo Broly era un personaje muy monótono, al punto que parecía estúpido y retrasado mental. El 90% de sus diálogos era gritar “Kakaroto”. Su motivación para odiar a Goku era que cuando eran bebés lloraba mucho y lo molestaba… En cambio, el nuevo Broly tiene una personalidad, origen y motivaciones.

Another character who had an improvement was Bardock. In this movie he is shown to be more human compared to his DBZ version. As a loving father who cares about the welfare of his family. In contrast, his old version, was someone ruthless, sadistic and unsympathetic.
Otro personaje que tuvo mejora fue Bardock. En esta película se nos muestra más humano a comparación de su versión de DBZ. Como un padre amoroso que se preocupa por el bienestar de su familia. En cambio, su versión antigua, era alguien despiadado, sádico y antipático.

My problem with this movie, and all the others that have come out in recent times, is that the plot doesn't take itself seriously. Maybe it's complicated to explain, but if you pay attention, there is never a moment of real tension, worry or despair. At all times it seems like everything is under control, as if it were just another training session. As a viewer, I never felt a real danger or a moment where there is a difficult problem to handle. Maybe I'm being whiny, but I didn't like this.
Mi problema con esta película y todas las que salieron en el último tiempo, es que la trama no se toma en serio a sí misma. Tal vez es complicado de explicar, pero si prestan atención, nunca hay un momento de tensión, preocupación o desesperación de verdad. En todo momento parece que está todo bajo control, como si fuera un entrenamiento más. Como espectador, nunca sentí un peligro real o un momento donde haya un problema difícil de manejar. Tal vez esté siendo quejoso, pero no me gustó esto.

The fight is simply ART. I think we all enjoyed this fight. It was a SPECTACULUM in every way. The animation, excellent. The music, unbeatable. The fighting styles, very good. The development, perfect. The conclusion, satisfactory. I think they focused the movie on the battle between Broly vs Goku and Vegeta and I think it's perfect.
La pelea simplemente es ARTE. Creo que todos disfrutamos este combate. Fue un ESPECTÁCULO en todos los sentidos. La animación, excelente. La música, inmejorable. Los estilos de combate, muy buenos. El desarrollo, perfecto. La conclusión, satisfactoria. Creo que centraron la película en la batalla entre Broly vs Goku y Vegeta y me parece perfecto.

As a last point to mention, I want to talk about something that detracts points to the film and to current Dragon Ball, in general. And that is the excessive infantilization there is. I am not someone who abhors humor and jokes, but in this movie there were moments that made me cringe. For example, when Freezer was looking for the dragon spheres because he wanted to grow 5 cm...😵 It was a perfect way to take away prestige from the most relevant villain of Dragon Ball. Another example would be in the scene where Freezer is giving a speech and out of nowhere Goku asks "what is inhospitable?" For many this will be unimportant details, but to me it ruins the movie a bit.
Como último punto a mencionar, quiero hablar de algo que le resta puntos a la película y a Dragón Ball actual, en general. Y es la infantilización excesiva que hay. No soy alguien que aborrezca el humor y las bromas, pero en esta película llegó a haber momentos que me dieron vergüenza ajena. Por ejemplo, cuando Freezer buscaba las esferas del dragón porque quería crecer 5 cm…😵 Fue una forma perfecta para quitarle prestigio al villano más relevante de Dragón Ball. Otro ejemplo sería en la escena donde Freezer está dando un discurso y de la nada Goku pregunta “¿que es inhóspito?” Para muchos esto serán detalles sin importancia, pero mi arruina un poco la película.
In conclusion, it is a good movie with several high points. If I had to describe it in a few words it would be: Good, decent and acceptable. And if I had to give it a rating, it would be a 7/10.
En conclusión, es una buena película con varios puntos altos. Si tuviera que describirla en pocas palabras sería: Buena, decente y aceptable. Y si le tuviera que dar una calificación, sería un 7/10.
