We could say that this film marks the beginning of the “super” stage in Dragon Ball. From this installment begins a new cycle of the franchise. For many, it represents a decline and a drop in quality.
Podríamos decir que con esta película, se da inicio a la etapa "súper” en Dragón Ball. A partir de esta entrega comienza un nuevo ciclo de la franquicia. Que para muchos, representa un declive y una baja en la calidad.
This time I want to talk a little bit about Dragon Ball Z: Battle of the Gods. A movie that in my opinion, was pretty average for what was expected.
En esta oportunidad quiero hablar un poco de Dragon Ball Z: la batalla de los dioses. Una película que en mi opinión, fue bastante regular para lo que se esperaba.

I think we DB fans were very excited about this movie. Since we were seeing new content again after many years.
Creo que los seguidores de DB estuvimos muy entusiasmados con esta película. Ya que volvíamos a ver nuevo contenido luego de muchos años.

The most novel thing was that they brought us a new transformation, called the Super saiyan god. Which I didn't like at all. First because aesthetically it's very bland. Simply put, it's Goku with red hair and anorexia. Second, the method is stupid. In DB they always gave importance to hard training to be stronger. This time they just had to hold hands to get the power of a god. And third, because it ended up being inconsequential. If we look at it, this transformation was only relevant in this movie. After that, it was hardly used.
Lo más novedoso fue que nos trajeron una nueva transformación, llamada el Super saiyan dios. Que no me gustó para nada. Primero porque estéticamente es muy sosa. Simplemente, es Goku con pelo rojo y anorexia. Segundo, el método es estúpido. En DB siempre le dieron importancia al entrenamiento duro para ser más fuerte. En esta oportunidad solo se tuvieron que agarrarse de las manos para conseguir el poder de un dios. Y tercero, porque terminó siendo intrascendente. Si nos fijamos, esta transformación solo fue relevante en esta película. Luego casi ni se utilizó.

On the other hand, we can notice the excess of jokes and gags. Dragon Ball was never +18, but this movie seems to have been downgraded to +7. I can understand and understand that the target audience of DB, are teenagers, but also not to make it for such young children. Obviously, they do this in order to capture new audiences and be able to gross more.
Por otro lado, podemos notar el exceso de chistes y bromas. Dragón Ball nunca fue +18, pero esta película parece que le bajaron la clasificación a +7. Puedo entender y comprender que el público objetivo de DB, son adolescentes, pero tampoco para hacerlo para niños tan pequeños. Obviamente, esto lo hacen para poder captar nuevo público y poder recaudar más.

There's one scene in particular that managed to make me cringe at the movie. When Vegeta does such an embarrassing and humiliating dance in order to distract Beerus. It bothered me to see the proudest character in the franchise lend himself to such antics. I even found it to be a mockery of Dragon Ball Z fans.
Hay una escena en específico que logró que me dé asco la película. Cuando Vegeta hace un baile tan vergonzoso y humillante para poder distraer a Bills. Me molestó ver como el personaje más orgullo de la franquicia se prestaba para esas payasadas. Incluso me pareció una burla para los fans de Dragón Ball Z.

Although I have to be fair and say that this was offset a bit when Beerus hits Bulma. I liked seeing Vegeta having that fit of rage at seeing his wife get beaten. Even though he didn't do anything to the god of destruction, I loved seeing that frenzy of attacks from the proud sayin.
Aunque tengo que ser justo y decir que esto fue compensado un poco cuando Bills golpea a Bulma. Me gustó ver a Vegeta teniendo ese ataque de ira al ver como golpearon a su esposa. Aunque no le hizo nada al dios de la destrucción, me encantó ver ese frenesí de ataques de parte del orgulloso sayin.

The ending seemed disrespectful to me. For those who don't remember, at one point Beerus before destroying the earth falls asleep and Whis takes him away. To later show us that he actually faked it. I think the writers were too lazy in this aspect. I'm not asking for a super epic ending, but at least make it not so stupid and unsatisfying.
El final directamente me pareció una falta de respeto. Para el que no lo recuerde, en un momento Bills antes de destruir la tierra se queda dormido y Whis se lo lleva. Para más tarde mostrarnos que en realidad lo fingió. Creo los escritores fueron demasiado flojos en este aspecto. No pido un final superépico, pero al menos que no sea tan estúpido e insatisfactorio.

In conclusion, the movie was not bad, not good either. As I said before, it is average. If I had to give it a rating it would be a 5/10. The animation is okay, the music is okay. Overall, the technical aspects are okay. I think what this movie lacks in is the narrative. I think in this aspect it could have been done much better. And I would have avoided it being so childish. I am aware that many people left the theater feeling embarrassed because of this.
En conclusión, la película no fue mala, tampoco buena. Como dije antes, es regular. Si le tuviera que dar una calificación sería un 5/10. La animación está bien, la música está bien. En general, los aspectos técnicos están bien. Creo que en lo que carece esta película es lo narrativo. Creo que en este aspecto se pudo haber hecho mucho mejor. Y yo hubiera evitado que sea tan infantil. Tengo constancia que muchos salieron del cine repletos de vergüenza ajena por esto.
