Full monty It's a British comedy, part drama; I like this film because it deals with difficulties, social marginalization in a light, funny and ironic way, it brings us into the typically English humour, it makes us laugh by playing down the drama, it takes us into a reality where need makes the difficult thing possible. Gaz, Dave, Lomper, Gerald Barrington and Guy are 6 men without work since the steelworks in their city, Sheffield, closed. The days are long without knowing what to do, you risk losing your identity, difficulties are the order of the day for them, the need for money and to find a role in life is great.....they are lost in unhappiness nauseating.........but thanks to the friendship that is established between them they find the strength to react by inventing an amazing job that will change their lives: strippers!!! So they are no longer alone to face problems but become a group, face them together, comfort and support each other. They are not beautiful, they are not athletic, they are not professional strippers but they throw themselves into this business driven by the need for money. I like Full monty because it instills in us the desire to socialize, to be a team and to support each other because not being alone, being part of something makes you stronger, more combative and you feel special; Besides this I like the subtle irony and British-style comedy!! The English know how to make people laugh with sobriety, lightness and intelligence. In 1999, the British Film Institute placed it 25th on its list of the one hundred best British films of the 20th century. Simon Beaufoy received his first Oscar nomination for the screenplay. È una commedia britannica in parte drammatica; mi piace questo film perché affronta le difficoltà, l'emarginazione sociale in maniera leggera, divertente ed ironica, ci porta dentro l' umorismo tipicamente inglese, ci fa ridere sdrammatizzando, ci porta in una realtà dove il bisogno rende possibile il difficile a farsi. Gaz, Dave, Lomper, Gerald Barrington e Guy sono 6 uomini senza lavoro da quando le acciaierie della loro città, Sheffield sono state chiuse. Le giornate sono lunghe senza sapere cosa fare, rischi di perdere la tua identità,le difficoltà sono all'ordine del giorno per loro, il bisogno di soldi e di trovare un ruolo nella vita è tanto.....sono persi in una infelicità nauseante.........ma grazie all'amicizia che si instaura tra loro trovano la forza di reagire inventandosi un lavoro strabiliante che gli cambierà la vita: gli spogliarellisti!!! Così non sono più soli ad affrontare i problemi ma diventano un gruppo,li affrontano insieme, si confortano e si supportano a vicenda. Non sono belli, non sono atletici non sono spogliarellisti di professione ma si gettano in questa impresa spinti dal bisogno di soldi. Full monty mi piace perchè instilla in noi il desiderio di socialità, di fare squadra di supportarci a vicenda perché il non essere soli, il fare parte di qualcosa ti rende più forte, più combattivo eti senti speciale; Oltre a questo mi piace la sottile ironia e la comicità di stampo britannico!! Gli inglesi sanno far ridere con sobrietà, leggerezza, intelligenza. Nel 1999 il British Film Institute l'ha inserito al 25º posto della lista dei migliori cento film britannici del XX secolo.
