Film Structure Analysis #16 - The Matrix, Act 1 Transition (1999)

Review by @lionsuit · 2452d · of The Matrix

I rewatched The Matrix again this week and was thinking mostly about the Act 1 transition.

Overall, what a great film, what a classic, what an important film for open and common awareness; to have this concept so well displayed in a visual storytelling form in 1999 is insane. Next level thinking. Next level script.

And along with that comes a clean and clear launch point for our Act 1 to Act 2 transition. A man and society trapped inside a computer system. What do we do to send our main character into the core question of the film? Wake him up. Let him choose the Red Pill.
