Another great movie, we can say that this movie is the one room-set movie, the whole thing is happening on a train.
The movie plot goes like this. An experiment causes an ice age to occur and kills almost everything on the earth. Humans are the last resort, the survivors are living in a massive train that has been traveling continuously and divided into classes.
In the front of the carriages are the elite people where they enjoy a comfortable life, while in the back of the carriages are the ordinary mortal people who live miserably. The train resembles Orwell’s novel, where propaganda machinery creates class distinctions and division of the two parts of the train, which creates two worlds.
Curtis leads the rebellion against Wilford lobotomy that is created by him, he is an evil person that created a cult and he is also the creator of the train.
Curtis release one carriage after another and by doing that they find a lot of secrets about the whole system of the train, they discover a lot of things that they didn’t even knew that existed because they never went to those carriages ahead of them. The first class enjoy good meals while the low class of citizens are fed with protein tiles made from insects.
The rebel group faces problems, brute struggle and hidden messages until the train mechanism and the whole system is finally revealed.
If you are fan of Orwell’s work or if you have watched “Metropolis” from 1927, then I think you will enjoy this movie as well, I recommend it. I think that this movie is much underrated and I hope more people will see it, because how the whole train functioning is very similar to our concept of living right now.
