If you were amazed by Identity movie which the main character had few personalities, imagine Split, a movie where there are 23 personalities which will lead to a new one, completely different then the ones he had before.
The split is a movie directed by M. Night Shyamalan, the main character Kevin Wendell Crumb who is played by the most underrated actor, James McAvoy has to bring 23 personalities on the table and act the hell out of them so you can understand the whole story behind his mental illness.
The story begins with Kevin, he is seeing a female psychotherapist called Dr. Karen Fletcher to help him overcome his mental illness.
Dr. Fletcer is aware that Kevin suffers from multiple personalities and she tries to undercover them all as she speaks to each of his personalities in the therapy.
Dennis, who is Kevin's 2nd personality kidnaps three teen girls and lock them in his house. As he holds them as hostages he switches into his personalities a lot during the day which makes the girls scared to death.
At the beginning, the girls are not aware of Kevin's mental disorder until one of them, Casey Cooke starts to understand the story behind his actions and to start adapt so she can survive.
There is not much to review about the plot, the movie is a breakthrough, it is very complicated if you are not familiar with multiple personality disorder.
It requires to watch the movie and to focus on the details if you do that, the movie will guarantee you something big on the end that will make you think for hours.
The Split movie is one thing, to misunderstand why mental illness is terrifying.
I promise you that you will get a lot of excitement at the end of the movie, asking yourself, is this possible, can we evolve into this, we must wait and see as mental illness takes a huge part in people's life recently.
