Un día fuimos en familia a comprar películas, normalmente a mi me gustan las románticas y las cómicas. Pero no recuerdo si logre escoger alguna o no. Pero estando ya en casa mi esposo saca esta película, la cual no había visto y me sorprendió que la hubiese escogido él.
Les cuento que yo soy del tipo de persona que en las películas llora a más no poder, bien sea por lo que pasa, por lo que creo que va a pasar o aun después de finalizar por lo que creo que pudiese ocurrir al final aunque no se hubiese contado. Pues sí, esa soy yo. Pero ya basta de hablar de mí, así que les voy contar de esta película.
Acerca de Yo antes de ti
Yo Antes de ti, es la adaptación cinematográfica de la novela de Jojo Moyes, del mismo nombre. Fue producida por la Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer (MGM) en el año 2016, con una duración de 110 minutos. Sin duda alguna es una historia de romance y drama que trata temas de la vida de adultos jóvenes y de cómo situaciones repentinas cambian el rumbo y el destino de ellas.

La trama de esta película, cuenta la historia de Will Traynor un rico y codiciado banquero joven que sufre un accidente y queda paralítico y como la joven Luisa Clark puede ayudarle a cambiar su actitud ante sus actuales condiciones de vida. Los personajes principales en torno a los cuales se teje la historia son: Will Traynor y Luisa Clark, pero es necesario hablarte un poco de otros que hacen posible que la historia siga el rumbo que tiene.
William (Will) Traynor (Sam Claflin): Es un joven muy apuesto, inteligente y adinerado, pero que quedó tetrapléjico al ser atropellado por una motocicleta. Antes de ese accidente Will era un deportista intrépido que solía realizar deportes extremos y estar muy activo. Además tenía una hermosa novia con la cual tenía planes de casarse. Sin embargo después del accidente y del obvio cambio de su estilo de vida, Will renunció a todo y trató de alejar a quienes intentaron apoyarlo en tan crudos momentos de su vida. Su actitud ante la vida definitivamente cambió y lo que deseaba era morir. Por eso había intentado el suicidio pero por las extremas limitaciones de movimiento no fue exitoso.

Esto es algo que realmente puede pasar a cualquiera. Pero la cuestión está en lo que estaremos dispuestos a hacer cuando haya un cambio de circunstancias. Generalmente estamos rodeados de personas que nos aman, así que no solo cambian nuestras circunstancias sino las de ellos, además las decisiones que tomen también les afecta.
Además, incluye el tema de la eutanasia y como se ha luchado por el derecho que tienen las personas de decidir sobre su vida, y en este caso incluso sobre su muerte. En algunos países del mundo es legal tener una muerte asistida, pero en otros no. ¿Qué opinas tú de ello?, ¿lo harías o ayudarás a un ser amado a que la practicara?

Por otro lado trata el tema del amor, como no importa la vitalidad, lo que puedes hacer en acciones, sino hay mucho más. Como el amor no surge de la lástima sino de conocer las cualidades de una persona a pesar de su entorno y de las circunstancias que lo rodean. Incluso, como el amor mueve montañas y hace que las personas estén dispuestas a hacer cosas increíbles por otros. Pero, qué amor es más grande ¿el amor a uno mismo o el amor a otra persona?, ¿qué estarías tú dispuesto a hacer por amor?, ¿solo amas a alguien por lo que esa persona puede darte?
Son muchas las reflexiones que he tenido con respecto a esta película y mi propia vida, pero no quiero contarte más porque necesito que la veas y me cuentes qué te ha parecido. No he podido volverla a ver porque la preste a uno de mis hermanos y él la extravío, lo peor es que nunca la vio. Luego cuando tuve Netflix por primera vez vi que estaba allí, y quise prepararme emocional y mentalmente para volver a verla y luego ya no estaba 😭.
Luego de verla me puse a buscar y encontré la segunda parte de esta novela de Jojo Moyes (Después de ti), y comencé a leerla, pero ya no era lo mismo, y luego perdí el interés.
