Siempre Fui Yo
It was always me
It is a Disney series released in June of this year in which we see the story of Lupe who travels to Colombia due to the tragic death of her father, a famous singer and songwriter, better known as El pharaoh but something tells him that his father's death was not an accident, someone wanted to hurt him.
In case you can't imagine the outcome of this series, I warn you that he says SPOILERS
Lupe finds out about the death of his father and travels to Colombia to his funeral, where she meets his brother who we realize they have a very distant relationship, Lupe is Mexican and Pipe is Colombian. . When she decides to return to Mexico, she realizes that there are many inconsistencies in the story they say in the news, so she decides to really find out what happened to her famous father.
At her house she finds Noah, her father's right-hand man, he was going to look for some things that her father had left him in charge of, but clearly Lupe doesn't leave and takes away the keys to the house.
Lupe decides to enter a contest that used to be a festival founded by her father, with the idea that she was going to get answers there, but she was in a team so she couldn't compete alone, and guess who gets to help her? It's like that, Noah, so they enter the contest with other teams, among those is her brother's.
Everything indicates that the pharaoh's death was planned and the main suspect is Lucas, who was her best friend, but over time, blinded by ambition, he began to betray him by forging the signature of his friends.
We see Wendy, the pharaoh's best friend and the one who seems to have been more his assistant, since she was in charge of sending gifts to her daughter Lupe, for which she is very fond and trusting of her, almost a mother-daughter relationship .
From the first chapter they show us that Noah is hiding something, that his mission is to prevent Lupe from returning to Mexico, so they give some doubt as to whether this is one of the culprits.
We also have several filler plots, romance between the teams, the sister of one of the contestants who is a thief and causes problems for her brother, obviously the contest, and the romance of Lupe and Noah.
Finally, in case it is not obvious, the Pharaoh is alive, the body they buried was not his, this was the great secret that Noah was hiding and the person who betrayed him was his friend Wendy, in a fit of rage she gave him some sideburns to sleep so that she would not go to the award ceremony to which he did not want to take her to take Noah even though she was the one who gave him the song that made him famous and never gave him credit, but apparently he is losing it dose and thinks I killed him, so with her husband a former police officer helps her save herself from that by creating a fire.
Wendy and her husband kidnap Lupe and Noah, Silvestre (the pharaoh) comes to save them, and in a struggle her own husband ends up killing Wendy, she looked quite sorry, she was just afraid of what could happen to the pharaoh But when she found out that he was alive, she did not want to continue with the plan, she was only blinded by the rage of not receiving credit for her "friend".
Pipe realizes that her hatred of her sister is pointless, that she is not to blame for the bad relationship she had with her father and that she just wanted more of his father's attention.
The series ends with Pipe winning the contest, since she is the one who has always worked hard for this and Lupe returns to Mexico, where after a few months Noah visits her. The end
The series has its good moments, I feel that the music is quite good, the Colombian atmosphere was a great touch, but it is a very obvious plot, from the beginning you already know what is going to happen, I feel that they tried to think of a lot of history in just 10 chapters Did they leave many things aside as if it were not important, such as the death of the man who tried to save the Pharaoh, that is, he died and no one took on the task of telling his family? Since he wasn't the famous composer, it doesn't matter... Besides, at one point they tell us that he entered before the house caught fire, and then they show us that the policeman set everything on fire and when it exploded he left, so that doesn't make sense.
We also saw that Wendy only made that mistake the night of the accident, but in all the chapters they imply that he had been having problems for a long time that indicated that someone wanted to hurt him. So as much as the story is very basic, I think if they went a little deeper it could be good.
Curious fact: this series was originally going to be starred by Tini and Sebastian Yatra so due to their breakup the whole series had to be modified and ended up being starred by karol Sevilla and Pipe Bueno
I must confess that if I enjoyed it at times, I liked the music, it filled me with nostalgia to love it Sevilla since it reminded me when I used to see Soy Luna but I felt very sad to see what they lacked to make an effort a little more to give it more value to the series, it was very fast, leaving many gaps, that is, I accept many clichés and I even like some of them, but not the inconsistency of the plot.
