Sonic ya es conocido por todos en Green Hills, pero el quiere ser un héroe y ayudar a todos, pero por más que sus intenciones son buenas solo ocasiona desastres, Hasta que vuelve Robotnik que fue salvado por Knuckles, en busca de una esmeralda que es capaz de darle el poder absoluto para ser realidad todo lo que desea, Sonic hace equipo con Tails, con el que se van a una aventura que les llevará por todo el mundo en busca de este increíble tema piedra para evitar que caiga en manos de nuestros villanos.
Comienza la película mostrando a Robotnik que si vieron la película anterior sabrán que este se quedó atrapado en el planeta de Hongos, en plena soledad solo crea planes de cómo podría vencer a Sonic El se quedó con una púa de Sonic por lo que usa esta para mandar una señal y intentar lograr salir de este planeta, un pequeño grupo de guerreros aparecen por uno de los anillos, logra vencerlos y se va corriendo hacia el anillo para escapar cuando aparecer Knuckles y se dan cuenta que ambos están busca del Erizo Azul.
Ahora nos muestra a Sonic, que se encuentra en Green Hills, ya es conocido por todos y busca ser un héroe, pero este solo ocasiona desastre, por lo que más tarde tiene una charla con Tom en donde le da un discurso bastante paternal por todo lo que ha ocasionado, seguidamente vemos cómo Tom y su esposa (Rachel) se van por uno de los anillos de Sonic al matrimonio de su hermana, por lo que Sonic se queda solo por 48 horas dándole un voto de confianza.
Sonic disfruta de su momento solo y en eso aparece uno de los anillos y vemos por primera vez a Tails un zorrito amarillo que tiene dos colas, estás le permiten volar, por alguna razón el también está buscando a Sonic… Más tarde, a hiras de la noche aparece Robotnik con Knuckles y lo comienzan a atacar, pero este es salvado por Tails y es ahí cuando conoce se conocen.
Knuckles cree que Sonic sabe de la gran gema, que fue quitada a los de su especie por los Búhos, ya que estos no les pareció buena idea que alguien tuviera tanto poder, Robotnik al saber esto, con más razón se queda junto a Knuckles.
Mientras tanto esta Tails con Sonic y se dan cuenta de algunas pistas que le dejo Garra Larga para que este supiera en donde está la gema, por lo que tienen la misión de encontrar la gema antes de ellos, pasan una serie de eventos hasta que consiguen la brújula que es la que los va guiar hasta la gema, allí vemos el porque el conflicto entre ambos, En eso llega Robotnik y les intenta quitar la brújula, Knuckles le asegura a Sonic que los Búhos mataron a su familia, y Sonic que su familia mataron a los suyos, que ambos quedaron solos ese mismo día.
Robotnik hiere a Tails por lo que Sonic entrega la brújula para poder salvar a su amigo, Knuckles queda algo confundido el porque alguien haría eso, pero ambos se van a la búsqueda de la gema. Una avalancha está detrás de Sonic y Tails, por lo que Sonic llama a Tom para que use uno de los anillos que le dio para salvarlo (entre la pelea a Sonic se le cayeron los que tenía), por lo que arruina la boda de su cuñada por salvarlo, pero aquí nos damos cuenta que la boda de esta, era una trampa que les tenían para capturar a Sonic, todos eran agentes, hasta el padre que estaba dando la ceremonia, por lo que la hermana de Rachel queda totalmente desconsolada y llena de ira.
Sonic, Tails y Tomo fueron capturados, por lo que Rachel y su hermana los salvan gracias a la mochila llena de armas que cargaba Tails, mientras tanto Robotnik y Knuckles consiguieron el camino para la gema, Sonic se da cuenta que es demasiado tarde y va a detenerlos, por lo que ocurre una pelea entre Knuckles y Sonic, Robotnik aprovecha y roba la gema, ya que este solo engañó a Knuckles para obtener lo que quería, la gema estaba en medio del mar, por lo que cuando Robotnik la agarró todo se destruyó quedando Knuckles atrapado por los escombros, ambos logran escapar juntos Por lo que terminan haciendo equipo con Tails y van en busca de Robotnik.
Sonic logra quitarle la gema con la ayuda de su equipo y así vencerlo, La película termina con todos jugando y enseñándole a Knuckles las increíbles cosas que tiene la tierra. Pero luego nos muestran una escena post créditos en la que nos dan a entender que Robotnik aún puede estar vivo y que encontraron un archivo de hace algunos años en donde podría existir otra erizo y este es nada más y nada menos que Shadow Por lo que es más que obvio que tendremos otra parte.
Esta película sinceramente me pareció algo aburrida, si tiene sus momentos buenos, saca una que otra risita por los chistes tontos, pero en general me pareció mala, lo único que rescato es la animación y el colorido de sus escenas, porque de resto luche mucho para no quedarme dormida, y Robotnik pasó el límite de extraño, por lo que a ratos da un rato de pena, la primera me gustó mucho, pero esta siento que le falto algo para ser interesante y se que algunos de la bastante nostalgia ver a sus personajes de infancia, pero para el público en general, creo que aburrió un poco.
Por cierto el doblaje de Luisito creo que fue peor en esta, creo que tendría que verla en inglés para ver si se siente un poco más fluida.
