Desde hace un par de días tenis rondando por mi mente la idea de hacer este post, así que les contaré mi opinión respecto a esta película evitando los spoiler.
For a couple of days I've been thinking about doing this post, so I'll tell you my opinion about this movie avoiding spoilers.
"A fall from grace" o por su traducción al español "A traición" es una película de Drama y un thriller psicológico producido por Tyler Perry (quién en su momento fue uno de los hombres más pagados en la industria de entretenimiento) y que fue estrenada el año 2020 por la plataforma de Netflix. Desde la primera vez que vi el póster dije "Tengo que verla"
"A fall from grace" or by its Spanish translation "A traición" is a Drama movie and a psychological thriller produced by Tyler Perry (who at the time was one of the highest paid men in the entertainment industry) and was released in 2020 by the Netflix platform. From the first time I saw the poster I said "I have to see it".
Yo nunca vi el tráiler antes de ver la película y realmente no sé los recomiendo, lo vi después y este da demasiada información de la película, lo cual le quita emoción a las partes que para mí, son de emoción fundamental en el final. Es una película lenta que al comienzo aburre un poco y que a pesar de muchas situaciones ilógicas en el guión y varios errores de producción, es una buena experiencia. Es importante verla sin muchas expectativas, más bien concentrándose en la historia, que en lo personal me pareció bastante BUENA.
A pesar de que no lo recomiendo si no la han visto, aquí les dejo el trailer:
I never saw the trailer before watching the movie and I really don't recommend it, I saw it later and it gives too much information about the movie, which takes away emotion from the parts that for me, are of fundamental emotion in the end. It is a slow movie that at the beginning is a little boring and despite many illogical situations in the script and several production errors, it is a good experience. It is important to watch it without too many expectations, but rather concentrating on the story, which I personally found quite GOOD. Although I don't recommend it if you haven't seen it, here is the trailer:
En su sinopsis te dice que esta película ambientada en los suburbios de Virginia, cuenta la historia de Jasmine Bryant (Bresha Webb) es una defensora pública que constantemente toma acuerdos de declaración de culpabilidad. Su esposo Jordan (Matthew Law) es un policía que se siente deprimido después de que una de sus recientes víctimas saltó de un techo hasta su muerte. Jasmine recibe un nuevo caso de su jefe Rory (Tyler Perry), que es Grace Waters (Crystal Fox) la mujer acusada de asesinar a su esposo Shannon (Mehcad Brooks). Grace insiste en que es culpable y sólo quiere un acuerdo de culpabilidad si va a una prisión cercana a su hijo Malcolm (Walter Fauntleroy),un acontecimiento que llama la atención de los medios de comunicación, haciendo el caso muy popular. Jasmine se da cuenta de que algunas cosas están fuera de lugar en el caso, incluyendo el hecho de que el cuerpo de Shannon está desaparecido.
In its synopsis it tells you that this film set in suburban Virginia, tells the story of Jasmine Bryant (Bresha Webb) is a public defender who constantly takes plea deals. Her husband Jordan (Matthew Law) is a cop who is feeling depressed after one of his recent victims jumped off a roof to his death. Jasmine gets a new case from her boss Rory (Tyler Perry), who is Grace Waters (Crystal Fox) the woman accused of murdering her husband Shannon (Mehcad Brooks). Grace insists she is guilty and only wants a plea deal if she goes to a prison near her son Malcolm (Walter Fauntleroy),a development that draws media attention, making the case very popular. Jasmine realizes that some things are out of place in the case, including the fact that Shannon's body is missing.
Como les comenté desde que vi el poster en el 2020 supe que quería verla, pero por muchos motivos no pude verla hasta hace aproximadamente un mes, así que se podrán imaginar la emoción que tuve al verla. Aunque al comienzo me decepciono un poco pero tenía tanto tiempo queriendo verla que no podía simplemente dejarlo ir, así que la seguí viendo y me lleve gratas sorpresas para luego terminar muy feliz (y algo intrigada) con el final.
As I told you since I saw the poster in 2020 I knew I wanted to see it, but for many reasons I couldn't see it until about a month ago, so you can imagine how excited I was to see it. Although at the beginning I was a little disappointed but I had wanted to see it for so long that I couldn't just let it go, so I kept watching it and I was pleasantly surprised and then I ended up very happy (and a little intrigued) with the ending.
Esta película tiene una duración de dos horas y trata superficialmente varios temas sensibles (que no comentaré para no hacer Spoiler), al menos para mí, fue una buena película que no tiene tanto mérito como merece, ideal para disfrutar una tarde, con alguna merienda y relajación, van a pasar un buen y entretenido rato. En resumen puedo decir que no podía esperarse demasiado cuando su director, escritor, guionista, productor y coprotagonista es un actor que dedicó la mayor parte de su carrera a las películas de comedia, se sintió el esfuerzo con la producción pero pudo lograrse mucho más con esa joya de historia.
This film has a duration of two hours and superficially deals with several sensitive issues (which I will not comment to not make Spoiler), at least for me, it was a good movie that does not have as much merit as it deserves, ideal to enjoy an afternoon, with some snack and relaxation, you are going to have a good and entertaining time. In summary I can say that not much could be expected when its director, writer, screenwriter, producer and co-star is an actor who devoted most of his career to comedy films, the effort was felt with the production but much more could be achieved with this gem of a story.
