Ginger isn't your regular kind of movie. The funniest part is that I didn't even want to give it a watch before. And the reason is just simple. I follow Kiekie and almost all of her social media handles, and she happens to be one of the actors of the movie. I love her so much, but the hype, the PR, the content, the promotion, and all of that were just so much that I felt, what if they don't deliver? Not only that, but I will feel so bad. I already have very high expectations of her, including all the other actors in it.
At the end of the day, I watched it, and I can tell you in all honesty that I enjoyed it. Very much. The movie was about Tolani (Kiekie); she's the daughter of a very wealthy businessman. She wasn't staying together with her father; it was later that she got to know that her father had another family outside of them. Also, when her father died, a lot of things began to come to the fore, and the movie began to get more fun, complicated, and serious.
When her father died, she got to know that he had a box full of gold, and then it became a battle between her and her own mother and her father's other wife and her son. Along the line, Tolani's mother died. And while till trying to get there hands on this mystery box, she got to meet three of her childhood friends, and the movie even become more interesting. At one time, they were working together to secure the box and all of that; at another time, it looked as if some of them had other plans and would definitely betray the others.
Looking at the cast of that movie, you can't but expect the best from them. Talk of Kiekie, Odunlade, Wumi, Bolaji, Timini, Bisola, and a lot of other amazing actors who acted in it. Those combinations are superb. And you see the combination of those four women; it was the best. I even watched a podcast of isbae_u sometimes before watching that movie. He had these four women on his show, asked them questions, and allowed them to promote that movie on his show too.
When I later watched the movie, I was glad I did. You know, I also love how that it shows what betrayal, friendship, greed, and such can be like. There's fun it in it too; there are places i can't just help but laugh, there are scenes I felt sad and there's a lot more scene that felt like suspense, I can't just wait to see what's coming next.
You know, there's just a lot to say about this movie. Also, when it got to the part that you see, there have been outsiders who knew about this box of gold; like, a lot of people were after it. Including Kiekie's uncle, Odunlade. One of the few people she trusted in her father's family.
Well, I'm glad they later found a way out of the mess, even though there was some bloodshed. I also love how that the box isn't just one you see and open, yeah. Like I said earlier, it is mystical. When you open it without doing some things and following procedures, you won't find anything in it.
And I won't want to water down their acting prowess; they did really well, but when it comes to being emotional, Kiekie really didn't give me that much vibe in it. Yeah, this is not to say she didn't do well; she did try. And believe me, I'm glad I watched it.
