Kill Bill: Volume 2 (Film): Review.

Review by @martinmcfly · 2813d · of Kill Bill: Volume 2

After talking about Kill Bill: Volume 1 I feel obliged to talk about its continuation, where the work done in the first one is culminated turning both films really into a single and uniform work.

Year: 2004 Category: Martial Arts.
Director: Quentin Tarantino. Cast: Uma Thurman, David Carradine, Michael Madsen, Daryl Hannah, Gordon Liu, Michael Parks.

Plot

After murdering two of her main targets and leaving a river of blood running down the road, the bride continues her revenge.

Opinion

We could say that Kill Bill: Volume 2 is basically the same movie as Volume 1, since it is a continuation totally harmonic with the first part. And although in terms of visual style and direction work it could be said that everything stays the same, and that the staging is exactly the same, I must also say that I personally could see some changes between Volume 1 and Volume 2.

This film has more Tarantino style dialogues, it is possible that there is not a film by this director that has more impregnated his personal stamp than this, where in each dialogue you could hear talking to Tarantino through the characters, something I do not know if it's good or bad, nevertheless, it's like that. Even the behavior of some characters, like Pai Mei, master of the main character, is excessively caricatured.

The film maintains the same brilliant aesthetic achieved during its first part and manages to develop a little more the script, without this means that it is better than the first part, both volumes constitute a same work and should be evaluated as such.

The performances are very good again, each actor does his job in the right way and although it may be true that the characters they play are not as deep as we might want, that does not reduce at all the work done by the actors, who performed very well.

As for the martial arts choreographies a good job is done, but without reaching the level presented in Volume 1, the combats take other dimensions in this film and therefore the choreographies are affected by it.

In short Kill Bill: Volume 2 is established as the natural and perfect continuation of its predecessor, providing an entertainment at least as good.
